I'm convinced Ronnie Wood made a deal with the Devil in order to join up with the Stones...part of which included agreeing to never, ever upstage Keith Richards, either live or in the studio. Listening to his stuff in the Faces, man, he was fucking ferocious. Loud, brash, balls out and in your face. His playing with the Stones though? Kind of indistinguishable, playing it safe and doing nothing to rock the boat with Richards.
I always loved Keith's Chuck Berry guitar style on the early Stones albums and also It's Only Rockin Roll , but I like it . He always had the best Chuck Berry style , as a matter of fact I very rarely remember hardly anyone trying it out .
Great ! Rod sings good very good in those days ! Bill fits the faces very well. I wish they had start the tour in 1993. And I wanted to see the band in Nippon Budokan.
+NJcruiser He obviously was, don't know why he wasn't half as good in The Stones as he was in The Faces. Maybe, he needs to be the soloist in the band to shine!
+M Duranczyk I totally Agree, actually much more than Brian in the early days because its his band now and especially in the later years because Keith wants his legacy to be kept in tack...My take!
Wyman offered to re-join the Stones for all the North and South American tour but Jagger refused saying he could come on as a guest for one number only for each gig (same as Taylor) Wyman quite rightly declined
Mick and Keith are still pissed off because Bill really trashed the Stones after he left .. I like Bill but there was no reason to talk shit like that.
@@kevgh3869 He wrote the book from his diary he kept from the earlier days about the Stones. I guess some of the stuff in that book wasn't supposed to be published because Jagger and Richards weren't too thrilled about what Wyman had to say. If I was Wyman I wouldn't write a book like that because there will be backlashes that follow him from Jagger and Richards and perhaps Watts. Too bad!
@@felipedej.cervera6514 absolutely the best Ronnie is great with The Face The Jeff Beck Group and Rod Stewart’s band great guitar player Ronnie’s great with The Rolling Stones of Course Bill Wyman is a amazing bass player he can never be replaced no Bill no Stones the stones were never the stones without Bill the stones should of all retired after bill left they were never the same they never got back on track after he left Bill was the stones the stones should of retired a very very long time ago
Ronnie Lane was the heart of The Faces. When "Plunk" left that was the beginning of the end, for one of the n-best bands to ever wear out shoe leather.
Damn, Ronnie just did the intro exactly as it was recorded in the studio, fantastic attention to detail, but I wish it had been a bit more loud, agressive and distorted, sounds like they are playing in mom's basement waiting for dad to start yellin "turn that shit down now!"
The crowd was practicing for COVID. Pretending they weren’t actually there. Excellent performance nonetheless. Would have preferred a little more growl from Ronnie’s guitar, but what are you gonna do...
I never even knew that Bill Wyman was in The Faces. I just knew that around 1975, Ron Wood left and joined The Rolling Stones as a replacement for Mick Taylor.
I love Rod. Brilliant performance as usual but have the audience fallen asleep? Must have been difficult to perform to such an unresponsive crowd. Not what he's used to but a true professional to carry on
actually they showed up expecting a Pavorotti concert and last minute Roddy and his band replaced the original act,,,lol,,,not really but judging by the oldies in the crowd, its possible
Ronnie meshes well with Keith. Rod and Ronnie were always great together. Ronnie got to shine with Rod . Just listen to early Faces and Rod Stewart records. They were great together 🎸
That's the point: What Keith said was that he had always been trying to achieve an effect where you couldn't tell which guitar was playing what, and that's what he achieved with Ronnie.
well I like Kenny and you know I love Ronnie I'm a small faces fan and yeah I did enjoy the faces But Steve was the force in any faces stuff. he could of done these songs with eyes closed the most under rated rock god ever
Yes Ronnie is for shure much better in The Faces than The Stones .... Keith and Ronnie are 2-A Like Guitar players ..... Ronnie has much more air and space with the Faces......
why is that audience even bothering being there ? or is that a room full of plastic cones ? now I love Rod solo and I love the faces BUT there is no energy coming from anybody in that building, band or audience . jeez .
Bill fits in every band, because he is a master in his own right.
Bill and Ronnie together outside the Stones..., and yeah, they played absolutely great, with a buddy named Rod))) Really great! Love these guys!
Bill was always one of the very best bassists of the era!
Fantastic version of this song, all the musicians are tight playing together
Ronnie did much of his best work with the Faces. Bill Wyman is a great bassist and gels well with the rest of the band.

Dang Bill's bass sounds great!!

Spot on, Bill! The Faces sound great--miss you, Ronnie!
Bill Wyman is great. He's one of the most underrated bass players.
He reallly was loud, never ever heard that with the stoners.
Right.
¿Cómo que “underrated”? 무슨 소리야?
Great ! Rod sings good very good in those days ! Bill fits the faces very well. I wish they had start the tour in 1993. And I wanted to see the band in Nippon Budokan.
Fantastic bass line in this classic rocker, and no shots of Bill Wyman playing it??😮
Criminal ☠️💀☠️.
I always thought Ron Wood was better with the Faces than the Stones. Just personal preference.
+NJcruiser He obviously was, don't know why he wasn't half as good in The Stones as he was in The Faces. Maybe, he needs to be the soloist in the band to shine!
+José Aquino He had much more freedom with the faces...Much more!!
Now you guys make me want to go back and start to listen to all of the old Faces stuff again. It's been decades since I listened to them.
+NJcruiser Absolutely agree with you on this!
+M Duranczyk I totally Agree, actually much more than Brian in the early days because its his band now and especially in the later years because Keith wants his legacy to be kept in tack...My take!
The Stones are now missing Wyman's Bass Work. Subtle, but not the perfection when they still had Bill.
Wyman offered to re-join the Stones for all the North and South American tour but Jagger refused saying he could come on as a guest for one number only for each gig (same as Taylor) Wyman quite rightly declined
I'd decline too.

Nice one Bill.
Ronnie Wood and Bill Wyman are THE BEST....!!!
Neither are the best.
Absolutely, yes.

I really enjoyed this
These men have been real stars practically all my life {and I'm getting on a bit myself}, Rod was a superstar when I was 16!, he simply does not age
Jeff Beck Made them.
Are the audience cardboard cut outs?
There is something of a rich spoil in Rod's voice. Love it.
Bill Wyman is doing a good job. Of course we all miss Ronnie Lane though. He was a great character. Sadly Ian Mac is now gone too.
+Alan Moorhouse Yeah to bad they didn't tour this band. They still sounded real good.Would miss the other voice of Ronnie a little bit.
Danny Dine For sure!
I agree with you Ronnie Lane rules. RIP Lane....
Ronnie Lane was the heart of The Faces. When "Plunk" left that was the beginning of the end, for one of the n-best bands to ever wear out shoe leather.
Used to see Ian and the Bump Band play most Friday nights at a club in South Pasadena.
Only one view with Bill Wyman it's so sad !
What a band!
TO jest KAPELA i PRAWDZIWE muzykowanie!!!! thanks !
This is NOT The Brit Awards; Its somewhere on the European Continent, probably Germany, as the audience is dead.
Just "WOOWW" ..( amazing )..
IMHO Stay With Me is one of the top 5 rock numbers of all time.
At the very least, in the top 50 songs.
Have to agree.
Wyman sounds good here.
WYMAN ALWAYS SOUNDS GOOD !!!
Bill Wyman guesting and the camera never picked him up once!
yes it did, watch it again if you dont believe me
das cause superstar rod stewart is camera hog naturally :P
absolutely right! that's very rude to Bill.
It did.

right. zero punch and zero enthusiasm
Just love this band.
Excellent and only choice to fill Ronnie Lane's shoes.
Is Ronnie strumming with a cigarette in his strum hand?? Lmao bad ass as badass gets
ok,,,sooo who has the best stage presence as a lead singer,,,,,Rockin Rod or Mick the slick Jagger?
What year was this? Does anyone know?
i love this guy
Which guy?
There's five of them.
Wow !!!!
must be hard seeing everyone sat in their seats ... with a polite clap...
O fera Bill Wymans

He wasn't. This was a one-off gig!
the audience are doing a bill wyman impression, fast asleep
that lot wouldnt know a classic track if it smacked them around the head.
I love Rod. Brilliant performance as usual but have the audience fallen asleep? Must have been difficult to perform to such an unresponsive crowd. Not what he's used to but a true professional to carry on
Could not agree more. A complete bunch of stuffed shirts.
actually they showed up expecting a Pavorotti concert and last minute Roddy and his band replaced the original act,,,lol,,,not really but judging by the oldies in the crowd, its possible
that was the same year when bill announced he left the stones. I dont know if after or before
ronnie très bon guitariste, il a bien fait de rejoindre les Stones .. un gars bien..🇲🇨
Brit Awards Ha! The audience wouldn't have appreciated what they were seeing. Where's Kylie? Where's Robbie? Where's Take West? :)
Ronnie meshes well with Keith. Rod and Ronnie were always great together. Ronnie got to shine with Rod . Just listen to early Faces and Rod Stewart records. They were great together 🎸

Geez, has Rod ever hit anybody with that mic stand?
Does the camera man realize bill wyman is on stage as well?? No screen time at all..
Camera man paned to him once for a few seconds.
The bass player is never regarded as having any importance unless they're also singing lead
Bill smiled !
British Southern Rock.
genial la mancuerna de los Stones con Rod
Is the audience dead?
I know, like wax works
Nope, just British

Steve Who?
Steve Marriott, singer, when they were called Small Faces. He left the band to form Humble Pie. Died in a house fire early 1990's. Great singer.
Bill with The Faces is like Kenny with The Stones
Kenny was with The Who

¿qué raro que no está el chino en el bajo?
Riff sounds like Beatles' I Feel Fine
nothing whatsoever like I feel fine
It's a different guitar tuning. Same chord series.
I thought Kenny Jones should be in the Stones after Charlie had gone, though obviously they didn’t want another old man for the next world tour…
Without Plonk no Faces.
Look at that fkn audience!!
Fantastic performance. Bill Wyman is the right replacement for Ronnie Lane.
makes ya want a cig.
Rod's mic-stand Mickisms are kind of embarrassing.
This is a far cry from the band I remember seeing live in their prime. More like an awful tribute act: The Faeces.
They were likely tipsy when you saw them way back then.
Oh ya. And how the fuck are you holding up lately?
Corpses in the audience
Bill Wyman... bless his heart, he's no Ronnie Lane.
Buelligan88 He's barely better than Danny Bonaduce.
Buelligan88 Bill Wyman is a GREAT bass player...remember him? he played with the greatest Rock & Roll band in the world for 30 years!
+Buelligan88 He's a really great bassist. The Rolling Stones lost a part of their sound when he left the band.
Thomas Welraeds I agree the Stones sound changed after he left. I don't think anyone could cover Ronnie Lane, though.
Buelligan88 alright then ;-)
Ronnie is wasted on the Stones
why is that audience even bothering being there ? or is that a room
full of plastic cones ? now I love Rod solo and I love the faces BUT there is no energy coming from anybody in that building, band or audience . jeez .
Thin.....
oh so very thin .....
Why did they reunite for a funeral? These people are deader than the skin on my 90 year uncle's feet.
Show biz cannot attract quality people, too much silly hustlin' going on.
Ron Wood mediocre at best; sloppy & inaccurate, the worlds LUCKIEST guitarist; cool to see Bill with them though
lame crowd
embarrassing
