BLACK ORPHEUS was a made-for-television dance special which was directed by MIKE MALONE and which starred DEBBIE ALLEN and the students from the ELLINGTON SCHOOL OF THE ARTS in Georgetown, Washington, DC. HQ THOMPSON and VANESSA DIXON received their first EMMY AWARD for the musical score to ORPHEUS and CARNIVAL was one of the songs from the show.
