Amanda's first pronunciation of pandan is correct. Pandan chiffon cake is like a "staple cake" here in Indonesia. Sometimes when I don't have any vanilla for my baking dough, I can use pandan essence. I have three potted pandan plants in my yard. You can add one or two pandan leaves to your raw rice during storage. You also can add one or two pandan leaves during the rice cooking process. It makes your rice more flavorful.
Yea pandan leaves can be used in many types of cooking. Besides rice, we also can put it in "pengat" (sweet porridge) or several types of sweet delicacies...

In Malaysia we have a lot of sweet treats and dessert made from Pandan leaves. The fragrance of Pandan leaf it's delightful and sweet! If you're able to get panda leaves in your area, you can try putting one leaf in your rice while boiling. It will make your rice extra fragrant! 💕

I loved pandan cake flavor🍰we usually used pandan leaves in cooking rice to have smelly pandan flavor.
