Its because of Social Media, Tougher sentencing laws, crackdown on gangs and cleaning up the streets and gentrification and more educated people and different generations, which all contributed to the environment changing and becoming more peaceful which changed the way of thinking and also affecting the music too. Because if you think bout the high crime rate and gang activites and the way the enivronment looked in the 1990s is what made old school hip hop so awesome to listen too and made the music videos so rough and gangsta.
