Thank you for reacting to this especially as we draw close to Veterans' Day (Armistice Day). As a further sign of respect to the unknown soldier, the sentinels remove all rank insignia so that they do not possibly outrank the unknown soldier. Being a sentinel at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is one of the toughest assignments yet also one of the most honorable that exists. Visitors are requested to remain silent and standing as a show of respect to these unknown soldiers. The changing of the guard ceremony is truly moving when witnessed in person. Thanks again for reacting to this.

Among the many things about the Unknown Soldiers that we don't know is whether or not they may have been alone when they died. One of the Tomb Sentinels has remarked that, by keeping their watch, all day, every day, forever, the Unknowns will never be alone again. I found that very moving. Thank you, and greetings from Seattle, Washington, USA.

Hey Loud Guys, great reaction! I went to Arlington National Cemetery on an eighth grade field trip. We were able to watch the changing of the Guard and it was amazing. All present had to be absolutely silent during the ceremony. Anyone who tries to approach the Tomb will immediately be intercepted by the Guard(which could mean a bullet because the rifle is loaded.) Touring all of Arlington is highly recommend by me when visiting the U.S.

The sentinels stand guard so soldiers who can never go home can rest in peace

One thing that they didn't mention in this video, which is a shame. The sentinels do not wear the Rankin signal as while guarding the tombs.
For the small part of the Soldier extends to their rank. No one knows what rank these men were. Therefore, even for a general is hypothetically guarding the tombs. He would have to surrender his rank and signia before Garden the tomb.

The USS Olympia was Admiral Dewey's flagship in 1898. It now sits as a museum ship at the waterfront in Philadelphia and can be toured.

The significance of 21 steps , 21 seconds is simply 1776, the year that we declared independence. 1+7+7+6=21
