I have never seen anyone do watercolor where they do dark first, then light and then the shadows. I’m definitely going to try this method. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and talents.
You are an absolutely extraordinary teacher. I just started water coloring, and yours are absolutely the most informative and easiest to follow videos. Thank you so so much for sharing your knowledge!
Please keep this up. I can't understand anyone who's been in the world. You are so great and protect your simple and beautiful way of explaining... Thank you, master🌹❤️
I really love this piece .... The art supply you use are really affordable for us and is easily available on Amazon which is great. Also great work again.
This is so informative! Your way of painting is so different to what I usually do and I really think I could use some of your techniques in my own art. Thank you very much for showing this!
This one is really amazing. It looks striking. Maybe you should do more compositions like this, with a lot of tonal contrast between dark and lights and a really high chroma color like bright red or bright blue popping out. It seems like the background could be even darker to create stronger contrast with the lights. Amazing work sir. Thanks for the inspiration. Take care.
Thank you so much. I love your tutos. It's such a good idea to show the reference photo coz we can relate between the painting and the photo. Thanks a lot : )
To get such a "dirty" background in one watercolor layer, you have to try. We mix the "opposite" colors: yellow with purple, blue with orange, and also mix the glaze paint with the body paint and get the "dirt". The basics should be known to such a master, since watercolor does not forgive gross mistakes.
Your work is a delight to see...it inspired me to start painting all over again....iwould like to know what colour have you put in the mist... Is it acrylic or normal white watercolour
Hi Mr Yong Chen, i like your tutorials and you paintings are very nice. I have a question, is it ok to use french ultramarine, alizarin crimson and winsor lemon instead?
Hi sweet man, I'm just learning watercolors and have on my long painting wish list a cigar with smoke billowing; I didn't think it was going to be possible and I'd have to resort to acrylics :). I suppose you'd have to make sure the paints you're using are nonstaining, like Prussian blue in order to lift? Thanks for your helpful lessons!
Thanks for showing this technique. A skill that I am struggling. How important is the paper for it to work. Must it be higher quality paper like Arches ?
Hi mr Chen I have several Chinese calligraphy brushes they don’t work as well as yours I’m in australia and shipping is very pricey I would love to have your brushes are you able to tell me if I can purchase them in australia. If not what are the hair on your brush. Thanks.
I liked. it seems to me that the glare of light on the left side of the Cup under the handle should be tinged with yellow. This is a reflection from the table.
I'm sure you've been ask many time...but I'm new to your UA-cam channel... Glad I found you! So, what are the names of your 3 primary colors you use...?
I have never seen anyone do watercolor where they do dark first, then light and then the shadows. I’m definitely going to try this method. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and talents.
This lesson was focused on the lifting, so the dark background is important.

Where do I get the lifting brush?
See the video description for information
I tried to get it but it seems that I have to join your $20 monthly program in order to buy brushes.
Wonderful 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💖💖💖💖🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰🥰
Wonderful! Could you provide the site where your reference photo can be found? Thanks!
ReeseGG if you are an EnjoyingArt member you will see the “Reference Images” site on your Dashboard.

Looks like light source and shadow are on same side.

Yes, you are right
Terrible idea you can't keep messing with watercolour it can ruin it 🙏
Lovely exercise thank you so much for sharing. Which Arches please? (Hot or not?)
just use water to make the mist?
