I putted 18.50m (5kg) or over 60 feet at 17 years old and never touched a weight room. I only did trowing training with a heavier shot (6kg)..
Amen
Wow , that's awesome
You never lifted waights ?? Iv ruptured a pec and my son competes in the shot he's got his 2nd comp in 4 weeks. With me had a ruptured pec what would you advise as training?
..Awesome...could have used you in high school...but that was in the 70s. I just watched videos of Al Feuerbach!
Great tips ☝️
Thank you 👍
Hey coach excuse me am a big fan of your contents I got a question do you think I can make a 50 feet with the glide?
I turned 17 in March (female) my recent furthest throw was 43 feet I have only been back training for a few weeks after taking 3 years off. I have the motivation to constantly train now. I’ve never bench pressed before what do you recommend for a starting weight? (I’m 5’9 and 165.)
Probably start around 40kg if that is manageable. If you're interested we actually have online coaching and programming available on our website to help you out. 43 feet is a very impressive mark at that age and we think you could have a bright future if you keep at it. Throws University I’m on my way to the gym now so I’ll try that out. I’ll check that out as well! Thank you!
Sage S Awesome! We hope you like it 💪
Sir give more trips
Love this video. Very informative. My question is how often do you throw with light/heavy implements? When do you throw it and how often? We usually pick up heavys a month before postseason competition.
We vary light and heavy implements through out the year. Mostly determined by which how the athlete responds to throwing certain implements, and what they have throw well/poorly in the past and try to develop them further. Often times we will have them throw one light and one heavy implement in a training session
I’m a freshman in highschool, and the only time I can throw is during practice, I have practice mon-fri but only practice shotput 1 time a week, is there another way I can practice throwing without the shotput?
Can you do the same for discus?
So if I can’t bench either of those it’s over for me?
I’m 5’7 165 benching 175 and I’m throwing abt 35-40 with the 12lb. I just started last year and am in my senior year so I want to hit at least 45 this season. With my program I’m on I’m set to bench 225, squat 315, and pc abt 200 by the season. Is that gonna be enough?
1.technique
2.Strength ( mainly legs)
3.speed
Practice makes perfect.
Ignor the comment about bench pressing 315 pounds. I benched 245 and was All State in N.H. in 1979.
I’m a freshmen benching almost 205
Nice!
How much do you weigh?
I do 225 as a freshman and dont have a diet or training
I also weigh 200
At which age should you begin lifting?
Age more determines what type and intensity of exercises to do, not whether they should do them or not. Middle school is a good time to start getting into lifting, and years of experience is often a better indicator of how advanced of exercises they are capable of rather than their actual age
I throw 35 feet right now. I have one year of high school left do you think it’s possible to reach 50 ft? I also weigh 135, 5 ft 10
may be possible. You need to throw 6 times a week and lift 3 to 4 times a week to make that happen 💪
Thanks man. I try to throw every day and I am trying to learn the spin technique. I can’t lift yet as the gyms are closed. Do you have any videos on the spin technique for shot? I’d appreciate if you could link me one
@@scoopsmoo7812 You can send us a video here 👉www.throwsuniversity.com/online-store/Technical-Analysis-p157553650 and we'll do an analysis of your technique to help.
How’d it go?
How to much squat do we need to throw 60 feet for high school boys
180kg/400lbs + | Hope that helps 👍
