Who can ever pick a favorite from your cards, Jill, they are all absolutely amazing. I always watch one of your videos before I go to the card room for inspiration and love Penny Black products.
You are creative I don't emboss, stamp, use dies, or do any ink smoooshing or ink stencils. I don't paint or draw either... so what do I do, you ask? I upcycle... I cut images, words, bkgrds off of frozen dinner boxes, postage mail, ad flyers, all product labels (also animal pkgs) ... including soda cases. I love the phone characters on the postcards we receive in the mail.... (Junk snail mail) I like using the Italian tater chip guy, if I find a hat I'll tape on him to represent Mario or Monopoly.. I love to use the sentiment on the back of the bread bag: Goodness is in our Nature! I also embellish w/ DollarTree items: sequins, stickers, I have cut out company logos for accents in a card... They were the same colors as the Tampax wrappers I used as a bkgrd.. (of course I covered up the word w/ happy b'day sticker..LoL.. she said she liked the card.... Another card I cut out pop tart quote... I taped: "awwww sch-weet" above happy b'day Love the dinner box that says Warm, Hearty I cut the 'y' off so it says Warm, Heart... Plz recommend channel(s) that #JunkCollageGreetingCards I've watched several vids & haven't found one yet. any suggestion would be greatly appreciated 😊 Posted Jan 23.2025
A border design really gives a card an elegance! Jill, do you ever cover your watercolor painting with a sealer so that it doesn't smear if it does ever get wet in mailing? Thanks for sharing your talents with us!!!
So enjoying this sketch series. You share so many wonderful design tips. I say this every video, I love all the cards, but since blue is my favorite color, I'll choose the card with the blue border as my favorite this time. Thank you!
I am really enjoying this series. You are right! The simple border with panel is highly overlooked! Sometimes I just feel like I have to do More, but these cards prove me wrong 😊 and I am headed to the craft room with some new SIMPLE inspiration from you! Thank you. ❤
'I don't know why I did that...' sounds like something I say on a regular basis in my studio, Jill!! I couldn't love your choices more - love all of your cards but am a little partial to the couple looking at the moon - my husband's hobby is astrophotography and we've spent countless evenings looking at the moon, stars and incredibly distant nebulae! There goes another to my ever-growing list! lol =]
Awh! That would be perfect for him. What an awesome hobby he has- I've just started trying to do some star-gazing (very basic with a simple app-heehee) and love it!
Hi Jill! The rose card is stunning! Such a simple change that increases the beauty of your focal point! This is a "permission to change your mind" video. We always need a reminder for that!❤
These are all great, but I love the roses the best. The cross stitch embossing folder looks great and I'm thinking I should add that to my stash. Thanks, Jill. Lol! ❤
I love your work, but I wonder why you use Toffee Crunch for skin tones??? I'd like it to be a little more pink, so what could I use instead??? Thanks. Edna Burgess
Jill, I love these cards. They are so precious. My Hubby has gotten into watercolor pencils. Could you recommend a YT channel of someone who uses watercolor pencils? Thank you. 😊
Thanks so much! I don't have a recommendation at this time as I actually don't really watch any cardmaking UA-cam channels! :) But here's a video with my approach using watercolor pencils: ua-cam.com/video/CA_byL14ERM/v-deo.htmlsi=FD_fTrQ2nJ5eDsFZ. Happy creating!
All three are great! The couple is so cute💗
Thanks, Jan!!
I am partial to flowers. That middle card is lovely
Thanks, Peggy, I love flowers, too!

Thanks, Elise! No, I don't use any sealer on my watercolors. I've never had an issue with them smearing or getting that wet in the mail. :)
They are beautiful…i liked them all…thx so much for sharing and hope you have a wonderful day!
Thanks, Sam! I hope you have a wonderful day, too! :)
Thanks, Sam! I hope you have a wonderful day, too! :)

Perhaps try Dried Marigold and Spun Sugar Distress Ink reinkers.

@PennyBlackInc Thank you so much. We'll ck it out. 😊
Me too! The rose one is my favorite. What ink did you use for stamping the rose image before coloring?
Thanks so much- I stamped it in Memento Toffee Crunch before coloring. :)
