No more state housing??? Are you trying to create a homeless situation in NZ like we have in San Francisco? Because that is exactly what you will get. If anything the argument should be that you need more, because of the current lack of affordability of your housing market already. Government exists to help level the playing field and give QUALITY of life for all its citizens... That is the real capital of a country, it PEOPLE, not its money...
Ha! If Seymour and ACT truly believe in libertarian ideology why do they never ever say it straight… hmm… maybe because the actually don’t believe what they are saying, the word salad, double speak & fact-bending is unprecedented.
privatizing healthcare would be a DISASTER for NZ. In the USA I have to pay over $30,000 NZD for my healthcare and I have the lowest cost, lowest coverage plan possible. That is private insurance.... $6000 a year by the government is one of the best BARGAINS in the world! don't buy into this dribble!
Why, what are you scared of? The current environment of NZ is something to be scared of, have you travelled much and seen how good other places have it compared to us?
@@Scott_Bradbury Scared of whats already become of those other countries. Big corps are already ruining the other oecd countries. Our peers like France, the US or the UK have police armed with machine guns walking the streets. Lets not be like the rest of them.
@Scott_Bradbury Frankly, ACT is continuing the work it started in 1984 - rolling back the state and making NZ as a place where only the rich can live comfortably. Blaming previous govts for financial mismanagement is the oldest trick in the book in Parliament.
@Scott_Bradbury excuse me... I am American and the USA is the 22 best place to live in the world, NZ is the 10th! there is a reason for that extreme difference, so bringing American policies in NZ, which is EXACTLY what Seymour wants, will only destroy what already makes you great

I am repulsed by this speech! This could not be more Trumpian! He has a very bleak view of New Zealand perhaps because he can't see the forest through the trees. As an American, who is also a Kiwi resident, let me give you my vision. New Zealand is always rated in the top 10 countries in the world as the best place to live because of the quality of life you all have. Yes, you cut down the tall poppies because you are kinder and nicer than most other nations. That should be an aspirational value for you not something that you think you need to change otherwise you'll just become a little America with our free access to guns, violence, hate and racism. There are tens of thousands of people who would immigrate to New Zealand if you opened up your borders and made it less restrictive. Immigration queries jumped to 91,000 the day after Trump took office. When someone is trying to sell you an American ideal, particularly a libertarian one, beware that is not who Kiwi's are and I hope it is not who you will ever be! Just my two cents.

Thank you for your great advice. I was thinking the same things about the US while he sprewed this garbage. That's not true. Landlords love ACT and they receive $2 Billion each year in taxpayer subsidies. Plus they get all the tax deductions and tax free capital gains. The biggest bludging beneficiaries in this country are tax dodging ACT supporting landlords.
