  • Week 85 in this "Ⓗ series", in which we're following the construction of a new 12-story hospital that will occupy an entire city block in San Francisco. This is a construction time-lapse at 900x, with over 32 highlights/closeups at various speeds scattered throughout, compressing the one-week period from February 8 to 13, 2016 into just under 32 minutes. Non-working days and nights are omitted.
This is the first week in a long time where there were no ironworkers visible. They left us last week with that one I-beam sticking up there, forlornly. But, I'm sure they'll be back eventually. In the meantime, this week we have views of the tower cranes, some concrete pumping (and some late night concrete work), some welding, some electricians stringing up lights, someone builds a nice little "fort", and a stubborn vertical beam that just doesn't seem to want to be bolted down. Plus other, miscellaneous activities, including the "rebar line dance" and yet another person who doesn't believe in pedestrian walkways.
I'm using the same music for all of these weekly time-lapses, because there's too many of them and they're too long to license different music for each one. There's no dialogue or other audio in these weekly time-lapses, just music, so you are welcome to turn down the volume and provide your own accompaniment music.
For this week's episode, subscriber Martha Dunkley recommends "Putumayo Presents - Latin Lounge" from channel "MusicBox" as your soundtrack: • Video

+David B Oh, you missed the episode where they took off the whole top floor so they could replace that beam? ;-)

Come to think of it there was some mention over here about multiple heavy lifting crane helicopters & a major construction effort on a building site in San Francisco :p
Guess I should have put two & two together.
(bringing my palm to my face as an expression of dismay) :)

The thing the boys were hitting was a column not a beam . The way it works beam's are horizontal and column's/pillars are vertical and the ones that are diagonal are braces .
