Funny how a year ago I was growing all of my plants on the North side of the coffee mill to reduce the sun exposure and now even when the sun comes up it still stays in the 10-15C range until about 10 am. I will say the roses are definitely loving the much cooler temperatures.🤙
With all the Forrest fires around the country I was wondering if the roses suffer from the effect for smoke, smog and ashes in the air or indeed from the air quality? I hope you are all ok! Thanks
How do you find this product compares to shade cloth? I’m in the middle of a heatwave/drought and could really use the extra shade but I have zero structures currently so would love to hear the pros/cons to this on a greenhouse vs just an outdoor suspended shade cloth!
With the existing greenhouses it's easier to apply than the shade cloth, and you can customize the thickness of the coating to match your needs. Say a light spraying in late spring just to take the edge off and then a thicker coat in summer. So you get all the cool-season benefits of a greenhouse (warming it up in the shoulder seasons) but still can control heat in summer. If shade is your only concern and you're not starting with a greenhouse structure in place, stringing shade cloth is the more straightforward choice.
I love all your vids and the way you explain things.
..youre easy to understand and offer great tips too, Thank you!
Thanks Lovely

@@FraserValleyRoseFarm Thanks for your insights Jason - Much appreciated.
Is this product the same as white wash?
Yes - I don't know that every product or preparation is exactly the same, but it's a calcium-based wash.
Great advice. How is it removed?
It does wash off over time with rainfall, but for a complete removal I believe the vendor supplies a diluted lye solution.
Chaulk it up to experience
My water is high in calcium. Just wet it down ...instant white
Wow! No need for this product for you.
