This song reminds me of my childhood, my father used to really like this song. He always plays it in the morning. When I was little, I was with one of my older brothers. We are only two brothers and this song is our little history together. Now times are different, I already have a niece and we still feel like we used to when we hear this song.

While crafting a song about traveling with a girl and struggling to rhyme "you and me," Lobo decided to switch to "me and you" for proper grammar. Inspiration struck when he was in Florida, looking out a sliding glass door at his German shepherd, Boo. He thought, "How about adding 'a dog named Boo' to the song?"
