De fotografie van Andres Serrano, een belangrijke figuur van de hedendaagse kunstwereld, onthult een vaak storende realiteit. Het oeuvre van de Amerikaanse kunstenaar is doordrongen van geloof, dood, seks en geweld. Zij vormen de leidraad doorheen de retrospectieve in de Koninklijke Musea voor Schone Kunsten van België.
Gelijktijdig wordt Serrano’s nieuwe fotoreeks in de Brusselse straten tentoongesteld: “Denizens of Brussels”, een aantal aangrijpende portretten van daklozen in onze hoofdstad.
