And I just now am getting it too. Started collecting like 2 years ago. Only collect premium now. Or some McFarlane and legends with added custom capes and or soft goods
carlos lima it would be juicy. But that upcoming comic Batman looks delicious. I literally just got the mafex comic Spider-Man today and was amazing so I’m very excited for the future of mafex
NickW 313 I think it would look great when it does happen. I’m hoping an actual Arkham Knight figure comes out, either based on the games or the Astrid Arkham version.
This vid is 2 years old and to date we now have the hush batman and dark knight returns and the leap in quality and design is awesome..mafex are delivering
The lenses down effect LOOKS visually striking but no film has ever embraced it for an entire movie because you'd completely lose out on getting any kind of sense of what emotional state the character is in at any given moment. Both Nolan & Snyder obviously love the white lens look as they've both included a scene where its given a little tribute, but the fact neither's embraced it for the full running length of a Batman film suggests they recognize it'd lend us the audience to connect less with his character while experience various ups & downs, which'd be a mistake what with him being the protagonist of the thing. Works ok for comics/animated projects cause they can simply flex the brows/outline of the eyes into dramatic expressions.
Carnola Sluggs Marvel was able to make the lenses down look work for Deadpool and Spider-man and still have their eyes change. Just use CGI. I think it’s a cool idea to do it but just not all the time. More often than how much it was used in BvS and TDK tho, I want him to go in and out of “Detective mode” like in the Arkham games
It worked for Deadpool because he's an inherently cartoony character & to question exactly how his brows & outlines of the whites of his eyes emote so well makes for a moot point. Spider-Man had a cool gimmick where it's more or less their acknowledgment of Peter being a photographer, so the camera lens eyes plays towards that, otherwise there hasn't been any kind of logical explanation for what exactly that does for him, other than perhaps enhance his vision like it might a camera? I suppose similar logic could be applied to a bat-cowl, though for it to have such a similarly mechanical feel might come off as derivative. Seemed like The Dark Knight pretty much went its own "Detective Mode" for that scene figuring Joker's location, which was totally cool, though again I don't think it'd work for an entire movie. Seeing the eyeballs of the actor as he conveys emotion is ultimately more important than replicating the comics 100% accurately. Burton, Nolan & Snyder (visually at least) proved you can still TOTALLY capture iconic Batman imagery without having to resort to the white eye gag in each & every scene.
Carnola Sluggs I don’t need logical explanation for everything... I’m a christopher nolan fanboy and I don’t think everything from the comics has to be explained... he takes that shit way too seriously 😒 Like he had to come up with a reason that Catwoman had cat ears... by accident... couldn’t even call her Catwoman. I’m fine with the comics as they are I don’t need everything to have a logical explanation it’s about a guy who dresses up as a bat and fights crime in tights lol His films were great but I rolled my eyes a lot at how obsessed he was with making everything seem “logical” rather than embracing the comics. He was like he was ashamed of what Batman comics really are.
Affleck's suit is definitely more visually striking, intimidating & agile looking though in terms of how well the character's written/portrayed dramatically, Nolan's version is infinitely superior.
Leave a like if you hate the QC issues with MAFEX and bought the SH Figuarts instead. Informative review. I had this on pre-order until the Batman Begins Mafex version's arm fell off overnight.
The Sentinel I definitely hate those problems as I have had terrible luck with mafex superhero figures as they all have been extremely loose and break easy, I have the rogue one Darth Vader and within 5 minutes of opening it and playing with it the wrist broke off. I was really disappointed as I loved the figure and I still do but I don’t want to drop another $90 on an unreliable figure that will break within 5 minutes of moving it
I am trying to decide between the black manta and this Batman. So far the Batman is winning. Just to many q.c. issues with the black manta figure to take the chance at that price point.
I can see what you mean in terms of appearance. Figure looks good and darker in color of black used compared to shf, makes him look brooding but I think once is enough for me buying a mafex figure. My 2.0’s head peg broke with little force of me just turning his head to pose. Can’t see me buying a 45-50 dollar figure to have issues with it. I hear your minor gripe with the loose arms.. I just can’t.. I’m happy with my shf.. I may give Mafex another try once the joker comes out but even then it will depend on how positive or negatively it’s received.
I've yet to get a bad Mafex figure! I don't buy them when they initially are released, I wait about 1 year for the price to come down and wait for any flaws to be fixed. Maybe this is why I get good Mafex figures, just guessing..
I know right? I think the high-end collectable companies are cashing in on the 10 year anniversary of The Dark Knight by offering the highest detailled figures now that the technology has caught up enough. Now having said that, I'm sick of only seeing Nolan or DCEU shit. Bring me an SH Figuarts Michael Keaton Batman or Christopher Reeve Superman with all the goodies they offered all the others. The possiblity of getting a Jack Nicholson Joker in the SH Figuarts line would be amazing too.
TotalX48 lol because it’s better than DCEU. Although I like Batfleck & would love to have a trilogy of Bat films of him, as long as there’s no crappy cameos from DCEU & that shitty cringeworthy Hot Topic Joker
The Sentinel There probably more profit in doing fairly recent stuff like the DCEU or critically acclaimed Nolan trilogy. Also, it might be a licensing issue for stuff like Christopher Reeve Superman
I still can't believe this is the 3rd time they've released this figure.
i've been bathed well they at least had to. especially with the first version
How have the QC issues held up anyway?
And I just now am getting it too. Started collecting like 2 years ago. Only collect premium now. Or some McFarlane and legends with added custom capes and or soft goods
SH Figuarts or Mafex gotta come out with Arkham Batman figure. It would be awesome to use Detective Mode in your shots.
carlos lima it would be juicy. But that upcoming comic Batman looks delicious. I literally just got the mafex comic Spider-Man today and was amazing so I’m very excited for the future of mafex
NickW 313 The Hush one, right? It does look amazing.
carlos lima yeah the hush one. I hope they make a Jim lee Superman too (which they probably will)
NickW 313 I think it would look great when it does happen. I’m hoping an actual Arkham Knight figure comes out, either based on the games or the Astrid Arkham version.
carlos lima personally I would prefer the Arkham Knight version because I love the suit design
I just got my Mafex Dark knight and I didn't know the chest on him can come off like the Mafex Batman Begins figure.

I got mine and has a wobbly head but I love the figure. Btw keep making awesome reviews and thank you.
That's the best looking Batman figure I have ever seen in this scale.
I have the SHF TDK Batman and love the way this looks. I will be buying this and keeping the shf one. Except the qc issues maybe.
Caleb Fitch me too i buy SH figuart batman and the batpod and now i get Mafex 3.0 ...they are so very nice
Phong Duong Thanks! Do you have any QC issues on the MAFEX one?
Both Sh figuart and mafex 3.0 is so nice ,so i buy both them
That Clayface looks dooo damn cool
This Batman is the better version. Don’t get me wrong, Ben Affleck is great, but when it comes to the dark knight crusader, the Nolan version wins.
Affleck's suit is definitely more visually striking, intimidating & agile looking though in terms of how well the character's written/portrayed dramatically, Nolan's version is infinitely superior.
Um no
@@chadwickmitchell3314 uh yeah
@@chadwickmitchell3314 uh yeah
is my idea or the legs are a little bit short in proportion of the rest of the body?

Sorry bout the figure. Welcome to the club.
very cool, that batpod looks amazing
This is a must-have. Thanks so much for this video. Ordered mine. Will be here tomorrow. 😎🤗
How much did you spend
Next on the list. I got my SH Figuarts Dark Knight figure today.
Where did you order from? I’m trying to find it but everywhere it’s sold out
Ca$hGaming21 You can try BigBadToyStore. They should have it. If you live in New York, try Image Anime. That’s where I got mine.
Can you exchange heads between the shf and this one? Even with a simple mod?
I am trying to decide between the black manta and this Batman. So far the Batman is winning. Just to many q.c. issues with the black manta figure to take the chance at that price point.
I wish that mafex would’ve don the dark knight one too.
You didnt show what is loose on your figure. You complained about it but where is it?
Justin AlztraZ
Wobbly arms I think
Justin AlztraZ yeah it was the arms

the legs design is the best part than shf
Yeah SHF just skipped it
Is Nolan Batman Mafex's equivalent of Hatsune Miku Figmas or something
Hello. Is it possible to put the head of the SHF on the Mafex one?
Could you review Soap studio Dark knight Batman please ??? 😊
Thank you for your review of just the figure and not the box. Cant stand other reviewers who review the box the item comes in
This better than the movie Masters one?
Great review great pics at end
D Amazing I love the music you use for the photos. You have the full track posted anywhere that I could listen?
Its from Persona 5
I believe is the track that plays when you are in the town
It sorta sounds like something on Boomerang before Samurai Jack or the Jetsons come on
So dope looking! A must get!
Wish you could show him next to a Batfleck but overall good review brother
That Batman looks awesome!! Nice video! Just wondering, where did you order him from?
Don't like the size of the head and the legs are short!
So what was the difference with the first two versions
Bruh
Is this good for 42 dollars
Great review
I've yet to get a bad Mafex figure! I don't buy them when they initially are released, I wait about 1 year for the price to come down and wait for any flaws to be fixed. Maybe this is why I get good Mafex figures, just guessing..
Buen vídeo Saludos desde Honduras
This weapon is the sticki bom gun
3rd times a charm i guess
Quick updates. Good channel.
SHF wins this one. Mafex wins Justice League.
No way dude
And I do own both, Mafex just went above and beyond on this one
Lol wtf
Why the hell companies, keep making Nolan figures?

Because it is the best and only actor that played Batman the best!
TotalX48 lol because it’s better than DCEU. Although I like Batfleck & would love to have a trilogy of Bat films of him, as long as there’s no crappy cameos from DCEU & that shitty cringeworthy Hot Topic Joker

Gus Hurricanes Get this kid outta here, he drunk af lol
1st
first!
The worst Batman design ever. I like the movies but...what the hell that costume, it's horrible.
It is supposed to be the most agile but protective suit Lucias could make
