Bro what you’re saying about new anime fans is pure facts. So many of these people you can tell are the same ones who would bully those for liking it 10 years ago. The fact that they don’t venture beyond the most mainstream stuff proves it’s mainly a fitting in with what’s currently popular thing as opposed to truly messing with it on the level of hardcore fans. You can tell how fake they are by how they get triggered by classic anime tropes as opposed to back in the day when these things were accepted by the niche community and never analyzed seriously.

Crazy how when anime became popular the quality fell off. 😔. At least we have cartoons and comics to watch as we wait for animanga to become good again. (Csm, one piece and dungeon Meshi are only good animanga left dandadan overrated)
@Jery-ej3iz there's a lot of Good anime, but since the quantity of animes being produced exploded due to popularity, that also leads to A MAJORITY of them being mass produced for a quick check. For example, Isekai animes are always popping out (at lest 6 or 7 episodes every week for the last decade 💀). But despite that, there's a few good Isekai. Currently you can just look at Re Zero. Even in season 2 they would skip openings and endings and it would still take 30 minutes instead of the typical 20 minute animes. Episode 1 of season 3 was basically an entire movie length to (probably because some people only care about action 💀 so they went until our first action moment of the arc) Now... some animes are not so lucky as Re Zero... Look at Blue Lock season 2💀 The manga was the most selled manga of 2023 and they made a slide show presentation with worse animation than the manga 😰 That was probably top 2 worse fall outs of 2024. Other good adaptations where the studio goes all out also exist. (Sometimes when a NEW STUDIO gets created for a new anime, they go all out and make 1 Very good anime... and then they get popular and get a lot of work, so they start mass producing to make more money to compensate how much money they invested in that first anime. Or they might just sell their studio to a bigger studio.) Btw, if you liked Dungeon Meshi, I think there's a chance you might like the concept of "Dungeon people". The quality is not that crazy and it's basically a slice of life of people working in managing a dungeon, Behind the scenes. but it's pretty good as it's its own thing. As for Dandandan anime, the first 6 episodes (they got leaked) seemed like introductory episodes to what's the show about, the story itself is a bit all over the place cause the author literally just wrote whatever the hell he wanted. (Which 50% of was around balls 💀... should I question wh-) From those first 6 episodes I cannot really say I'm going to remember anything next year. There's nothing MEMORABLE. it's appealing because of Chaos and randomness, but that also makes it forgettable long term. A show I wasn't expecting to get a good animation (thank god it did) was Frieren, you can tell the studio placed in work and passion in it. They did a good job portraying what the story is. There's other examples but you get the point. Not all shows deserve love when produced into an anime, but sometimes, not even the ones that deserve have the chance to get it, or a studio that actually understands/knows how to put that work well (God of High School was... 💀)
As a practicing Catholic, I think we've got far bigger issues to deal with than having a flippin' mascot. Of course I really like anime, but I don't think this mascot is going to help in taking more souls to Heaven.
The church using anime to attract younger generations wasn't on my 2024 bingo card. Imagine them sitting down and putting something on completely out of context thinking, (lets see what youngsters are interested in nowadays), only to witness the most disturbing shit anime has to offer.
At one hand this was a great move but on the other they could create a cartoon character for the same purpose by commissioning a studio or company that has experience like the italian company that created winx and other ips which would make it more competitive as its needed to the side of the cartoons against anime from my perspective
i started properly watching anime around spring this year (and i wish i started sooner D:) and i think one of if not the main reason i didn't start earlier was because it was somewhat frowned upon in the general population and didn't want to admit to ppl that i like anime. now that's not the case and i will say i really enjoy/like anime with barely any hesitation (probably). also i'm new time wise but i'd say i'm past the entry level by now, i mean i've watched kamikatsu.
I was heavy into cartoons as a kid. Never really got into anime until around 2019 when western animation started getting weird. But I never got bullied because anyone who tried to mess with me got punched in the face. Even if I lost the fight, people knew not to mess with me because I will fight back.

Episode 1 of season 3 was basically an entire movie length to (probably because some people only care about action 💀 so they went until our first action moment of the arc)
Now... some animes are not so lucky as Re Zero...
Look at Blue Lock season 2💀
The manga was the most selled manga of 2023 and they made a slide show presentation with worse animation than the manga 😰
That was probably top 2 worse fall outs of 2024.
Or they might just sell their studio to a bigger studio.)
Btw, if you liked Dungeon Meshi, I
think there's a chance you might like the concept of "Dungeon people". The quality is not that crazy and it's basically a slice of life of people working in managing a dungeon,
Behind the scenes. but it's pretty good as it's its own thing.
As for Dandandan anime, the first 6 episodes (they got leaked) seemed like introductory episodes to what's the show about, the story itself is a bit all over the place cause the author literally just wrote whatever the hell he wanted. (Which 50% of was around balls 💀... should I question wh-)
From those first 6 episodes I cannot really say I'm going to remember anything next year.
I miss when anime was niche 😓😓😓
I miss when anime was good🥲🥲🥲 at least we still have cartoons and comics
The man saw a Certain Magical Index once lol.
FINALLY, found it. Toaru mentioned.
NAH BRO... THIS IS WAY TO CRAZY
Surprised they didn't go with Battle Pope.
"When not in mass, he's out kicking ass."
As a practicing Catholic, I think we've got far bigger issues to deal with than having a flippin' mascot.
Of course I really like anime, but I don't think this mascot is going to help in taking more souls to Heaven.
... Unless...?
The church using anime to attract younger generations wasn't on my 2024 bingo card.
Imagine them sitting down and putting something on completely out of context thinking, (lets see what youngsters are interested in nowadays), only to witness the most disturbing shit anime has to offer.

You are a truly slothful one!
The irony cause a few years ago they used to call it the devils media lol
Highschool Church Girl fights off demons with the power of Jesus
At one hand this was a great move but on the other they could create a cartoon character for the same purpose by commissioning a studio or company that has experience like the italian company that created winx and other ips which would make it more competitive as its needed to the side of the cartoons against anime from my perspective
I gotta say the mascot looks a lot like the main character from the anime called wonder egg priority
i started properly watching anime around spring this year (and i wish i started sooner D:) and i think one of if not the main reason i didn't start earlier was because it was somewhat frowned upon in the general population and didn't want to admit to ppl that i like anime.
now that's not the case and i will say i really enjoy/like anime with barely any hesitation (probably).
also i'm new time wise but i'd say i'm past the entry level by now,
i mean i've watched kamikatsu.
"Hello fellow kids" said the Priest.
Catholic here. We stan Luce.

Modern Crusaders : "TATAKAE!!! SHINZO WO SASAGEYO!!!"
*all the while Cruel Angel's Thesis plays in the background*
I wonder what the church thinks of bleach’s final arc now?
Anime is like a new Institution you can embrace in the 2000's, EU4, look how far we've come since renaissance...
Now the Pope can call out png lock and get our soccer anime back
I was heavy into cartoons as a kid. Never really got into anime until around 2019 when western animation started getting weird. But I never got bullied because anyone who tried to mess with me got punched in the face. Even if I lost the fight, people knew not to mess with me because I will fight back.
The Church hasn't watched Hellsing Ultimate from the looks of it.
Anime girls are the peak aesthetic
And regarding your post, those people are not "fans" they are tourist
