I have been preparing to van camp for two years now. The only thing stopping me is responsibility to a loved one. But hopefully someday….
You sure do get a lot of “mileage” out of your setups. (Pun intended!) So smart to conserve your energy for the trip, instead of having to load and unload so much for those shorter trips.
Thank you! I'm so excited by how easy this is!! Now when I cut back from a trip I don't immediately have to empty the van to pop back up the middle row for the times I'm feeling puny!!
Love it! Funny I just put those front seat storage nest thingy on my truck! Enjoy!
I leave my back third seat up and I love it. I am just a bit too tall to sleep in the rear seat with your set up. I have thought about leaving one of the mid seats up instead of the back one and this had given me a bit of an idea as to what it might be like. Great creative revamp. Plus, with your kids you can keep this more set up than your other builds.
I was worried I'd feel claustrophobic, but I didn't at all and was still very organized! I love that it opens up more stealth possibilities for me and like you said I don't have to change it back and forth btwn driving the kids around!!
So great that you have all those options thanks for sharing
Thank you! It's definitely nice having options based on the type of trip/travel!
Great video. Take care of yourself. ❤
I love seeing van set ups and all the stuff that is stored inside such a small space to give je ideas. Thank you.
I like that setup.... I think i'll try that in my minivan...
I except...( I think that I will make the bed a little bit wider..) buy placing a board on the seat of the bed...and make it wide enough to reach the middle seats and put legs on the board...... thanks for this tip... excellent
Great idea, that would give you even more "storage space" underneath that way! Thanks for watching, glad you found it helpful!
Awesome!! Your intro was so much fun!!! I like it, Heather! I like this setup a lot!!! I like that it's the easiest for you and I think it's perfect for quick trips. I do think you need more room when you're out there for a longer time! Yet, the two seats are great for storing stuff. UGH!!! You have 3 great setups. I'm so impressed! Thanks for all the explanations - perfect for anyone interested in this awesome lifestyle.
I could technically access the storage wells inside the stow and go part by just flipping up the rug!! I bet my clam tent and other outside stuff would fit in there! 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Thank you!+
Kudos to you. I'd have to cut off my legs to get comfortable. Even with pax seat slammed all the way back there isn't enough leg room for sitting comfortably.
It's one of the only times in my life I've been happy to be short!
Another great setup! Amazing how much you can fit in Terra, yet still be comfortable. Extremely well done video. Your explanations were fantastic.👍
Love and respect anyone who is for this life💯 so has anybody ever thought about putting a composting toilet of any kind hidden in the passenger seat?🤔 Just a thought... anyways, be safe and enjoy your excursions!!!🤗
Thank you!! If I was ever to remove my passenger seat, I would consider putting something like that there perhaps!
Nice Heather! I'm glad you got another Mosaic light, I like it n couldn't believe someone stole the other SMH. Im really lovin that hanging light that can change colors Alot! It looks like you have everything you may need 😊 I can't wait to see your new thing to make popcorn 🍿 I sure wish it was warmer here, it's been getting pretty darn cold here in Indiana, I hate Winter 🥶 Stay Safe Heather, Enjoy and Thanks 😊
I know I am so excited to try this likee cooker out! I've heard it boils water super fast too!! Thank you!!!
(That light popped up on my recommended and was on lightening deal, so I couldn't resist! Amazon knows me too well lol!!
Makes me wish I was a shorter. Looks like you can transport the kids with this set up too. Best of both worlds😊😊
Yes!! I actually practiced taking them to tennis with everything in place (except the stuff on the front seat) and it worked awesome!! Such a game changer, especially with my energy levels lower than usual!
@@HeathersHikesAndAdVANtures hope you find some answers soon. It is nice not to undo the van to use it
You have more space than I do! I tried to get a vehicle similar to yours, but price was too high.
I know, the prices for vans are so outrageous! I was lucky to get this one in 2019 before the prices skyrocketed!!
Those Vans are roomy ! Maybe I should have bought one but I'm liking my little EcoSport and my bike fits in the tiny thing 😅..now if I can get biking haha .. Terra looks cozy 😊
I bought the needed items over the last 2years the van is next .
That's a smart way to do it too, for things you know you'll need. Then you can shop sales & it's less overwhelming when the time comes if you already have most of what you need!
This set up is a lot like my SUV. Because im short I can fit across the back seat like you have it. But I dont have the 2nd set of seats.
I really expected it to be a but claustrophobic compared to what I'm used to, but it's not at all. I thought I'd regret booking 2 nights instead of 1 for my trial run with it, but I didn't feel cramped or squished at all!! Perfect for coming in to ca.p late and leaving super early!
@HeathersHikesAndAdVANtures Exactly what I need for birding. I cant get going at dawn, and do camp stuff. It really is perfect.. I leave mine set up all Winter. So even a trip to the beach can be a day camp. Good decision, and that gives you one more option. Plus, if another opportunity comes up, you can make the change. Sometimes $30 for the night can be blown off for another cool opportunity.
Do you mind talking about what you do for work like i mentioned before i am disabled having a trach but disability doesn't seem to think so i am looking for ideas of things i could do.
H E L P, lol, how does one get their internal car lights off, when doors are open. My ceiling lights had switches, but there are side lights on wall panel near rear that are perepetually on. I know it will drain my battery at some point. TODAY at the carwash it took three fellers to get my auto sensor wipers to shut off. smh, its been hilarious though its a 2017, its truly a spaceship to me. since its such a modern buggy. I havent had a brand new vehicle since 1989. theres always bells, and whistles blowing, between the side cams, etc. Sooner or later ill figure it out. just wondered if i got to pull fuses to cut that power to internal lights. thanks if anyone can advise, and PLEASE be safe out there.
In my 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan, the knob on the left of the dash that controls the brightness of the interior lights has a manual shutoff if I turn it all the way down. But I've heard other will use a carabiner to run through the trunk latch to trick it into thinking the door is closed as well, and I've seen some videos on UA-cam that show how to do that method instead. I haven't tried it myself yet!
Hopefully you don't have some kind of carbon monoxide getting in hence the tiredness youre feeling..hope they figure it out its no .fun. I have thyroid issues and i get so sluggish sometimes and finally taking the dose i need i think
Hopefully I'll start feeling a bit more like myself while waiting for answers! 🤞🤞🤞
Enjoyed again, Heather, sexy socks❤
No don't need all that junk to go camping
Exactly my point with this video! You don't need a ton of stuff to get out there and car camp - glad you agree! 🙂
This latest van tour is the third unique floorplan for my 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan no build camper conversion. I'm a part-timer currently, but I like to make sure I'm alwaus equipped for stealth, off grid, boondocking, or traditional campsites!
For no additional money, and only a few minutes to spare, this new camper proves to be my easiest, most affordable, fastest conversion and versatile layout so far!! I actually have a separate living and office space that is divided from my bedroom, and I really liked the feel of that!
If you have been on the fence with trying car camping for yourself, or worried it might require too much time and money to get started (only to discover it might not even be for you!) or if you're just anxious to get started and don't want to wait for a fancy setup with tons of gadgets.... this could be perfect for you too!
I've been looking for a solution for months that would allow me to go on car camping trips on the weekends btwn a busy schedule of commuting passengers. Now that my
health isn't the greatest at the moment, it was important for me to have a way to still enjoy my trips without as much physical activity for now. This is it!!!
