@@Super-Dave-Outdoors it’s nice because it has quad port open port. I think it’ll probably help you bridge that 2mm gap of most guys using the 46’s. Piston selection can be tough too. Slab side vs windowed.. many would argue that windowed don’t work but then you see the 200T and Dolmar 6421 etc use windowed in open ports and do it very effectively.
I dont have a lathe and couldnt get anyone in town to cut the base so i had to go with a stihl 031 piston and cut the chamber. Had to do a ton of chamber work to get the volume close to reasonable. The 44mm 028 piston and a base cut is probably much simpler. This is my first shot messing with a 350 cylinder and 2nd time messing with a 55. Never even seen one in person until a little over a month ago.
Well it didn't seem to hold its RPMs that well but it did go through the wood awfully fast and that's the only thing that counts. Looking good SD!!
It had air leaks from the decomp and intake boot. I made repairs and changed the exhaust. New test cuts on lunch break.

Almost sounds rich, it ain't getting up to that 4 stroke burble when you free Rev it I'm sure you will find the problem

Yep, that was with 2 air leaks. Intake boot and decomp valve were leaking.
