Really hope the guys dont over look BYU. Lots of factores with the time of the game, and altitude, great venue, that they could lose this game!! I do have the Cats winning 35-14
I can’t really put a finger on why this may be, but this team doesn’t really feel like a team that’s going to overlook anyone. I think after the Tulane game the team knows anyone can beat anyone and it’s crucial to prepare. Thanks for watching my friend, I happen to agree with your score prediction on this one!
Hey thank you for the invite my friend! I’m excited to see the matchup! BYU is certainly improved and I think we’re going to get a treat! Now the only trouble is staying up for the game haha. Thanks for watching my friend!
What are you thoughts on Dante cephas going forward? I’m leaning towards thinking Spivey should be seeing more snaps than him. Has a big build and cephas proved to be unreliable.
This is a great question actually. To say he hasn’t been great would be the right stance. That being said, he is creating some separation so I do think there’s value there. Though if this trend continues, I think it should be time for Tre Spivey. You can’t have receivers out there doing cardio all day
@@JoeTillery yes I am probably a little over critical saying he has proved to be unreliable. Really sucked to see Avery make a spectacular throw rolling out to be dropped. I agree with your take on it however. Love the podcast man! Have lightened my spirits many times when the doom and gloom seems to want to takeover.
As you pointed out, just go 1-0 every week and treat each game as the national championship...until the day after the game. Then treat the next game the same way! Rinse and repeat through the end of the season, and good things will happen! This week, BYU needs to be our national championship game. The Cougars are 3-0, and in the 8 games these schools have played each other, the visiting team has never defeated the home team. K-State is 4-0 in Manhattan, BYU is 3-0 in Provo, and BYU won the Cotton Bowl at the end of the 1996 season, the only time the teams have played since 1977. Time to laser focus, get that win, and make history in Provo! As for playing at the Bill, the combination of fan enthusiasm and the stadium's acoustics makes it as loud on the field as in a normal stadium twice the size! I've experienced that loudness firsthand, as I was in the second row of the stands a couple of years ago in the 2022 season opener against South Dakota and it was every bit as loud as games I've been to in the much bigger stadium of Nebraska in the mid/late 1990s, when NU was at the height of its power...
I think that’s exactly the right way to look at it. Something tells me this team is up for the task and won’t get too beat up around future expectations. Thanks for the in-depth comment and for supporting the Cats!!
Re: Connor Riley as our OC, I would’ve rather have hired another high tempo OC from another school - UNLV’s OC has impressed me and lots of other folks, but we have what we have and I think CR did well. Seems he learned things from the Tulane game. One other non-related thing, U of AZ fans seem to be a-holeish. Insanely lofty expectations of this team and hopefully this loss has brought them down a few notches.
That’s definitely a fair point. I’m not saying it was the best option at the time and place, I was (and am) HUGE on Willy Korn, but I think the idea is we do have Riles and he’s learning to be himself and work with some incredible talent around him. And I also see that a bit with the UA fans. There definitely is some entitlement (similar to Utah) but I think it comes with the “we’re going to come in and dominant the league” idea and they just got a brutal wake up call. Have to expect the same this week from the Utes.
They were still pretty sloppy even though the score was lopsided. They had terrible coverage on the interception in the end zone, they just got lucky the ball was thrown way late and McMillan had to stand there waiting for it. Having said that, they are improving a lot every game. They can't keep having slow starts on offense though or it will catch up to them sooner or later. A surprisingly competent looking BYU team on the road is going to be another huge test.
Was this team slow coming out of the gates? Yes. Are they anywhere close to what they are capable of? NO But to see the jump they made this last week is exciting! This should scare a lot of the other teams in the Big 12. This team will continue to improve, proof? Just look at the previous 3 years and how the teams progressed. Their main challenge, STAY FOCUSED on the next team up. GO CATS!!
You absolutely nailed it! That's the proper fan-itude! I think this is a signature win for the program, not necessarily for the usual reasons, but because this was Center Stage across the country. There was so much electricity in the air, Elon's ears would have been glowing. You're right to emphasize the offense. They really delivered, and they could have featured any one of 6 or 7 different guys, but they spread the ball around, and that's going to pay dividends if they ever need to go to just a few. It takes a lot of special guys to be cool with investing in the team for greater rewards down the road. I wouldn't have minded a couple of more minutes for you to shout out to the Defense, because they Shut out Arizona for 3.5 quarters. It looked like they barely had to break a sweat. I know that's not the case, but that was something special. Teams will have to wonder if some new wrinkle on either O or D is going to result in a quick 6. I mean they can pound or finesse, or both at the same time.
I absolutely should’ve taken more time to shoutout the defense. Was running low on battery so unfortunately had to cut a bit short on this one. Thanks for the comment my friend, I appreciate you watching!
As to offensive play calling, fans complained about Snyder and every OC. Many of the complaints then, as today, are stupid and rather annoying, coming from those that have never played or coached.

Great win KSU…looking forward to you guys coming out to Provo. Go Cougs!

It was nice to see our Cats dominate the line on both sides of the ball
Absolutely! Hats off to the DL as well! I should’ve mentioned that more but that was awesome!

My natty/heisman parlay is back in play!
Haha yessir! Same here!!

Agreed. The environment will be tough, but the fellas should be ready. Excited to see what’s on the horizon!

👍
❤️❤️
Gonna read into this and say K-State wins 90-0 the rest of the season
Hard to disagree with a distinguished ball knower here 🤝

You’re spot on with that. It’s the nature of the game I suppose. Appreciate the comment my friend!
