@@MrMrsVintageTypewriters very helpful as I just found a Hermes 3000 in nearly mint condition in a Salvation army shop yesterday for a price of next to nothing 🥲 i feel so lucky, as I have been looking for it for a while
Thank you, beautiful video perfectly done just what I needed nothing i dont and right to the point, with other camer angles to show what lever or switch and where, for that thumbs up 👍❤and i subscribed. Thank you Sir!
Lovely video. Thankyou. I found my Hermes 3000 this week at a rubbish tip in Australia! Still in her case and all working beautifully. It is missing one of the brushes from inside the case, is all. And I wonder, where is the number 1 key? And where is the ! exclamation mark?
I need help!! my Ribbon on my hermes 3000 (1966) doesn't want to move from left to right or vice versa... It sometimes moves a Little bit but then stops. I don't know how to fix it!
EXCELLENT VIDEO! I do not own a Hermes 3000 portable typewriter, but I recently acquired a 1963 Hermes Ambassador typewriter with a British keyboard. I would love to see a demonstration video where its proper use is thoroughly explained featuring a Hermes Ambassador typewriter.
Looking for help. My 1963 Hermes 3000 was an impulse buy. I believe it is in really good shape. I have changed the ribbon, very lightly cleaned and oiled the ‘letters’ after watching you tubes for direction. No matter what I do, typing seems to require finger strength that I don’t have…typing is not at all enjoyable, and I am sure there is something I have not figured out. Welcome advice.
Hi, honestly it’s always about the item being not properly serviced and cleaned. It won’t perform well if it wasn’t fully flushed and cleaned. It might be other issues as well but if it’s typing , it means it needs a properly clean of the segment.
wonderful, thank you, I have owned a hermes 3000 (swiss keyboard) for about ten years and I have decided to write my novel on it. I never knew about drawing a line with that little hole - brilliant. Do you have a video about changing the ribbon? Also, if I needed to clean and oil it (with a compressor etc.) how would I go about doing this, and does it actually need any oil?
Pleasure. Glad you like it. Don’t oil as the oil will accumulate the dust and clog the mechanism.they need proper clean from inside and flushing the keys segment . Thank you
GREAT VIDEO!!! I’ve had one for a long time and never knew how to use it😊
Pleasure ☺️. Working on more interesting material ..
Thanks, these "how to use" videos are helpful. Sometimes it's a puzzle to figure out something like where the carriage lock is.
Pleasure 🤗

Great video! I was struggling with the margins settings. You made it clear ! Thank you !
Glad it helped!
Yeah, the margin setting is way too complicated.
With practice on a serviced machine, it will be ok

Pleasure. 1 key is always lower case L.
Exclamation mark is apostrophe, back space then full stop. Will type !
Hope that helps

Hi . From what you say , it might be the cogs under the spools with Broken tooth .. that stops the movement.

Thank you 😊 . Noted 👌🏽
Why does my margin halt and produce a ringing sound halfway instead of reaching the paper's end? How can I resolve this issue?
Definitely it’s something about the margin rails . Maybe not clean or something stopping them from moving.

I assume you moved the “touch” (tension) knob down to level 1.

@@MrMrsVintageTypewriters okay great thank you so much, and just a clean with a compressor is good enough?
compressors are good when carefully used.. they remove dust but not grime. plus make sure not to accidentally blow on springs.
Thank You ...
