I cut crooked too. But… I learned from Donna kato that you mark your line on top and bottom, and then connect those lines up the sides. Then gradually rock your blade down the side lines to cut, you’ll get even cuts. Works like a gem for me every time now!
I LOVE this project! I bought clay during the pandemic as well. I used most of my stimulus money to pay off bills but allowed myself to get $100 worth of clay and supplies. I've used more of my clay since watching your tutorials than ever before. Thank you so much, Ms. Irene! P. S. I looked at your Facebook page and saw how incredibly beautiful you are! If I looked like you, I would be on screen all the time!
Hey! I LOVE your leaf. And flower. I think you're great. Stop putting yourself down!! You're creative, talented, and need to just believe it!! And by the way, those earrings are SO BEAUTIFUL!!❤😊 Perfection is boring. Far better to just be You. You are enough. I really learned a lot from your tutorial!! Thanks! 😊🌸
I gotta say, I love to go through your "journeys" with you! So honest, so much to learn about these processes with you, a true THANK YOU🌹Also! I'm a blue fan as wellll!
You should be very happy with the way they turned out, they are beautiful. This is the first video of yours that I found and I am looking forward to watching more. This was so interesting. thank you for sharing!
Beautiful results in spite of the hard clay❣️ I love those little flower and leaf colors!! So pretty and spring like- may Spring begin, please!! Love the hoops, so beautiful and different. If you wrapped those hoops around a metal circle cutter the same size, would that help? Thank you for sharing 💙💛💜🤍💚
Irene those earrings are gorgeous. Please, please put some blue scotch tape or something on the top of that blade so you don't cut yourself. Have a beautiful day Irene.
I bought some transparent Premo from amazon and it was so dry and crumbly! I chopped in into teeny tiny pieces, smothered it in liquid clay and it came back to life! Don't throw out your old clay loves! There's always hope! 🤗
In my other post, I just whined about how bad I messed it up. I didn’t even stop to tell you how most of my successful projects came from watching YOUR tutorials! I love Samantha at Jessama and Deb at Clay Boutique, but every day I find some way to learn from our favorite, The Clay Dork, who is not a dork at all but an incredible artist and teacher!
You're too kind. Curious though, and excuse me but I'm brain dead due to being in the middle of doing my taxes. I said I'd get back to you but have completely flaked. Can you remind me?
Donna, Those petals are perfect. Because you don't have a big cane, I wouldn't reduce so much.. If your using A small cane I only Do 5 petals instead of six and if you have to make each at 3/4 of an inch for each petal that's fine. So the only thing that I see is that you reduced the petals too small and they got all wonky on you. Try and make your flower petals a little bigger.... But I will only reduce the petal to 5 inches and that way, You'll have 5 petals at 1 inch. Don't quit though because you have it.. It's right there in those petals. Honestly, I just wrap mine in plastic wrap. Some artists wrap in wax paper, but you'll have to tape it. Hope that helps :-) I'll go find your message. Your UA-cam name and your real name wasn't making a connection.
Thank you so much for your solid advice!!! It does make sense. This is why we’re all so grateful to you. You put in all the work and learned and developed your techniques, and generously shared them with us. You’ll likely be my first patreon when I can join one! You’re an Angel! 😇❤
Beautiful earrings!! And yes, everything and anything you make you should sell at how much time and how much the materials cost you. God Bless you and your family today and thru the future.
You have it at an angle when you cut to insert the white. The bottom is in the square, but the top, looking down on it, is not straight up and own in the square. So your cut is at n angle.
Michael's (canada) is the worst for sending out dry clay. I just had a major battle to get my money back! We don't have great deals like you guys do and shipping to Canada from the USA is insane. Hopefully this will get fixed in 2024. 😉👍 Thanks for the tute!!!
I've watched several of your video's but you rarely tell us what cutters you are using so we can go find them on your etsy shop. What item# is the circle cutter please. Thank you!

Irene, I know you said you’d get back with me, but I’m up to my butt in armadillas here! I attempted this project and I was doing great! I have done that but can never get consistent sizes. I might use the guides to cut and then wrap around metal

You can revive translucent and other colours with clay softener. It only takes a drop or two.
My clay softener is in clay form. I think it's a sculpey product

If you dont use up your cane right away, will the alcohol ink "bleed" into the translucent and white eventually? Love the look, thank you.
I'm not sure. I know that it will dry out the clay to where there will be cracks. I don't remember if any bleeding happened though.
Hi Irene What Colours Did You Use Please and Thank You 💕💕💕
I don't remember lol. It should be in the video. Just alcohol inks in various colors like yellow, pinks, and blues

Make a small clay "handle on your blades. Then it will be easy to see how to pick them up.
what do you mean by this very interested.....
Would it be okay to use this technique and make some earrings to sell?
