I am SO sad that this is the last big Huda palette. I like her 9 pans, but they can’t touch the Italian ones. They are THE release I look forward to every year. I really hope she starts using the Italian lab for whatever she releases in the future and keeps her innovation going.
I have Rose Quartz, Pretty Grunge and Naughty…do I still want this one? Yes 😅 It’s so stunning right up my alley. As a redhead I can see myself wearing all the shades.
I was really tempted to buy this palette, but as I watched this review, I realised that despite the color story being very pretty, it's nothing I can't dupe within my own collection. Thank you for the review, it was very helpful!
It's an wearable yet very verstaile palette with cohesive color story...We have seen so many big monochromatic palettes this year that this palette seems like a breath of fresh air. I love how you can create pinkish, peachy, icy blue, silvery and smoky eyes with this.
Thank you for the comparison. Pretty Grunge was my first Huda Palette. I got the Empowered Palette because I love warm tones. I have been getting into cool tones, but I still love warm tones. I was debating about ordering Rose Quartz and Naughty, but I think after the comparisons I will stick with Icy Nude after this and call it a day.
WOO HOO!! Girl, you are the first review I've seen . I'm so torn, it does have similarities to the Grunge and New Nudes that I have. But it's stunning. My main concern was that the silvers in Grunge and this new one are very similar. Hmmmm. . . I love all the looks you did.
I was thinking the same that its like her rose quartz thank u for the comparison but still gonna buy it 😩 i just love the icy shimmery shades btw u look gorgeous & love the looks u created
This has some of my favourite shades. Unfortunately Empowered lacked light mattes. Really craved it yet this will do. A big palette really should have it all..
Thanks for doing three different looks. I saw someone do a grey scale look with it that I could have done with Natasha Denona Xenon. Brown looks are the kind of thing I do so it was useful to see what else the palette can do. I have most of the other Huda palettes but I think I may well get this one too anyway.
I'll need to see it in person, but I skipped the last 2 years palettes and this one is definitely more up my ally. So it may be a purchase in the Sephora Sale!
I love huda’s big pallets, definitely buying this one, I was debating between this ND one purple one .I love both brands. I think huda will still have large pallets, probably have 12 pan shadows .
trying to decide between the ND roxa palette limited edition, or this one! Love the looks you made it looks wearable and versatile and I prefer it to the Natasha Denona I want a nude palette because the HB has those nice shimmers! BTW I love the rose quartz palette - one of my all time favs but it is getting old now and need to get a replacement can only keep for 2 years or at risk of eye infections
Definitely that's your Palette, your eyes stand out a lot with those shadows, I have hazel eyes and although I have the same skin tone as you I don't know if my eyes will look that cute, and as soon as I have the palette in my hands I will make the looks you taught us. Greetings 😊
That’s a great question!! I really like Mario’s mattes but Hudas shimmers lol! I just think Hudas shimmers are much more special and the palette itself gives so much more range 💖
@@ChristyHealey I definitely like the cool browns in the Huda and I dont own a Huda palette. I just love my toppers in my original ethereal eyes palette… and navy is so hard to do right and from the sound of it Mario did it right. It’s so hard to choose!
Wow. I was really going to get this but now I don’t think I will. This was so helpful. I have the 3 Huda palettes plus xenon so I can do icy. She does have my favorite formula. I’m fair and cool so I thought this would be ideal and I was soooo tempted due to it being her last one but seeing those swatches is pretty shocking. I took screen shots so when I am tempted I will review those. Thank you!!!! I know I am in the minority but I love Love Stone, the pitri dish!!! ☺️. It feels so good, like a special eye treatment. I think it’s pretty and great for a natural day. I am allergic to some of Natasha Denona’s creamy formula, some mattes and some satins. Sometimes I forget which ones and my eyelids get tender. I wear Love Stone the next day. I was so upset I might run out I actually duped the look and feel with a tiny dot of each - Danessa Myricks clear gloss colorfix, colorfix in ballerina (just a tad more sparkle, still pretty) and a drop of face oil. Just leaving here in case anyone else loves it. It wears really well too.
This looks much more muted compared to the promotional photos. I'm not buying the claim that this is the "last big palette" from the brand. They will probably have a gap when they don't launch these for the holidays and it could be that they will just revamp the palette design and maybe make the bigger palette size bit smaller. 100% agree that if they would stick with the nine pans, they really should have the same formulas as in their big palettes. From my own experience those have been very hit and miss.
I completely agree with you! I can dupe this new palette with existing eyeshadows that I already have ( ND I Need a Nude, ND midi Xenon, ND midi Glam and other mini ND palettes and the Rose Quartz + a few eyeshadow singles )
@@anna_khas I love Rose Quartz. It’s the only one I have though. The special shades are truly special. If I knew I’d ever finish a palette id pick this up. But no ways will I even finish RQ. Lol
I ordered mine too. Hope they send it to me before the 25th! I just started the video but would you say this looks quite similar to the ND I need a Nude, they looked so similar in photos! Oops, you just compared them, thank you!
I was excited about this palette until I saw the comparison to Rose Quartz. I LOVE Rose Quartz but this is basically the same palette + some silver shades. I don’t need to pay $60-$70 for the same palette when I have 1000 silvers already. I do love the color story tho
I LOVE Huda’s large pan formula so I’m disappointed she won’t be doing them anymore (at least for now, since like you said, trends change and she could start doing them again). But, I agree, her 9 pan formula just is not the same! Her large ones are made in Italy and her 9 pans are made in China. And I’m not someone that thinks just because something is made in China it’s automatically bad. Just like things can be good/bad made in US or Italy or anywhere else, they can be good/bad made in China. And unfortunately, her 9 pans just don’t have a great formula, especially when compared to her larger ones. So hopefully she’ll change the formula if she’s going to stick with them - otherwise, this Icy palette will be my last eyeshadow purchase from Huda and that makes me sad!
Thanks for the video. ❤ I wanted to buy the i need a nude palette but icy nude confused me. I have a cool undertone, which one do you think I should prioritize for daily use? i need a nude looks a bit warm. I don't have the chance to try it unfortunately.
I think it depends on your preferences. ND INAN is more of a one-note true neutral palette for people with fair skin. Yes, it has a few warm-leaning peaches, but the rest are different shades of neutral to cool-leaning brown taupes. Not too grey, with no orange or red undertone. On fair skin with a cool-to-neutral undertone, it pools smack in the middle neutral - not overly warm nor too cool. It has different shimmer textures - from simple satins to shiny metallics and sparkles. But they all have the same neutral beige tones. In that sense in my opinion it is perfect for everyday use. HB Icy Nude has more variety. Looking at swatches, it has a bigger contrast range from really light to super dark colors. But looks like there are not many middle tones in it: High Life and Lavish (both look quite similar on the swatches), Oneself (straight grey) and First Class (straight warm sandy color). So as the main crease color for daytime makeup, I’d use only the first two (High Life and Lavish), which sounds quite liming for an 18-shades palette. The rest of the mattes are either too dark, too light, too warm, or too cool. Also what I noticed with HB palettes is that her mattes usually pull darker on the fair skin compared to how they look in the pan, so keep that in mind. As for a shimmer, ofc it depends again on what is appropriate level of shine for a day makeup for you. For me, I’d maybe use only two shades for an “office-style” look - Gold Standard (warm golden shimmer) and VVS (silvery with a touch of gold and pink). Aurora is too dark and rusty, rest are too shiny and silvery, which is perfect for a party or a stunning evening look, but not for daily use. Overall Icy Nude gives me more of a light cool leaning, but still evening sparkly look palette. Mainly because it lacks neutral shimmers. To sum up - ND INAN is better for everyday use if you want a really neutral fair-skin-friendly palette. And I would go for HB Icy Nude if you want a more versatile day-to-night palette, however with limited “neutral look” options. Sorry for making it so long, but those are my thoughts, and hope they will be helpful for you to make the right choice for you.
I heard somewhere that she’s now gonna do 12 pan palettes. Idk if that’s true or just wishful thinking, but whatever she does, hopefully it's from Italy.
very nice palette but now i’m not sure i want it. Those other Huda palettes you compared i have and for $70 i may pass on it since there’s shades in those very similar. jury is still out though. 😂
Icy Nude looks like Pretty Grunge's little sister. I use the PG all the time so I think I'll use Icy Nude all the time as well. It's going to pass the low buy I've got going on.
How so? There’s not a single white or silver in I Need A Nude. Similar because they both have a couple nude matte shades? As does almost every palette released in Sephora.
I for some reason find it so boring with all the cool and warm palettes with shimmers and metallics... It's been done. ND is very creative.... So I was wanting something fresh with lots of surprises for her last big palette. But I just felt 🫤
Hi, I want to know if the packaging of the palette is similar to the Pretty Grunge palette? Because the packaging of the Pretty Grunge palette looks really cheap, it's really cheap plastic, to be honest.
I don’t know if it’s the lighting, but I can barely see much of the shadows you’ve put on, there just seems to be no depth. It just looks like you’ve put a tiny dusting of a very light shade on. I can see the shimmers but not much of the mattes.
The only reason she is discontinuing these palettes is because of cost and profit. It's difficult to keep the same profit margin that she used to when the economy was stable. I am pretty sure she will come back with a 10 shadow palette for exactly the same price. If her big palettes were 70-80 bucks, we would only get 10 shadows in the future for that price. It's a business move, nothing more.
Huda larger palettes are some of the most beautiful color stories I have ever seen. I’m so getting icy nudes
