You are very impressive and kind. I did the same build in 2016 on my brothers 2015 pro master. Was so much fun doing it and I was sad when he sold it. I would love to be able to do another build for myself and travel. You are doing a great job and I have watched some of your newer videos. I am always impressed with anyone that just does it. Best wishes
Check out some car detailing channels. Once you've cleaned off the pollen and stuff, get the really stubborn things off with a clay bar and a spray of soapy water. Then (after you have done any other repairs like sealant and rust repair/primer/paint) apply a coat or two of wax. The roofs of these tall vans hardly ever get waxed, and it really helps keep stuff from sticking in the future.
There are a couple of things about this channel that I have really enjoyed. Love how you talk your way through ideas and secondly how you overcome obstacles by researching them before taking them on. I've come to call this enrolling in UA-cam University. I know I've learned a lot by attending myself...... Another fun video by the way
I tip my hat to you. The work and progress you have made to upgrade your van for your future travels has been very informative. Looking forward to when you are able to film your adventures on the road. Great work!
Purple cleaner become “best thing ever “ in best hands of yours! You have great sense of humour and genuine personality! Thanks for algorithm that recommended your lovely channel. I’m in with all buttons smashed! I’m fellow Floridian venlifer.
Hi - maybe someone has mentioned this - There is another channel that has just completed a van conversion. True Blue Travellers. They built a bed in the same location you want with a small kitchen, dining table, shower and toilet. Their floor plan was one of the best I have seen.
Another great video! Btw, take a closer look at it but those caulking guns usually have a built in tip cutter and seal piercing rod for the caulking tubes… Most do anyways. Definitely be careful climbing around on those roofs. Sometimes when they’re wet they get real slippery. ✌🏼
You're a Go Gitter. Your doing a great job. I'm from the future, and your Diligence, Patience and Persistence PAYS OFF BIG TIME. But you need to stop doubting yourself. YOU'VE GOT THIS, TOTALLY.
Elisa, I am loving your videos. I just converted a sprinter van over the last 2 years and I know how *much* work is involved so I applaud you for your tenacity. I work in construction and have a slight addiction to tools... I was frazzled with the amount of work involved but I was ready to tackle the job... Whatever it may have taken. You, however, are tackling this with no experience, tools, etc... I am really in awe of your confidence and ability! felicidades y muy buena suerte con tu proyecto!
I admire your tenacity. When I first found you online I didn't think you had what it takes to keep going. Now look at you 😮 ,building a van. Keep up the good work. Baby steps.
A couple of tips about the caulking: you can use the painters tape to tape around both sides of the area where you are going to apply the caulking and after you get done spreading/spooning it you pull up the tape and you have a nice, neat straight line. Also, a lot of caulking guns have a hole on the side of the handle for cutting the tip off of your caulking cartridge. They also sometimes have a built in rod that you can puncture it with.
Seems like you gave it enough thought and the van will be your home away from home once it's done. Can't wait to see how you put it all together. It would be nice to see some kind of summary of all the materials and time that went into it, to get an idea. Keep up the good work!
Great job. I love the way you present so much detail Also, the best is how you show your insecurities.... as you conquer every challenge presented to you. I can't wait to see it finished and watch your travels. You definately have what it takes to succeed as a storyteller and you tuber. Good luck!
im in australia and about 4 months ahead of you in my build. i could listen to your accent all day, but then i wouldnt get my van finished . your doing great and i look forward to your vids each week. regards, cactus .
Thank you for your approach to this project, nice and easy, knowing it's going to take a lot of time and money. My son has been working on his build out, he's about half way through! Thank you!
Hey, just so you know, I think your caulking gun comes with a built-in puncture pin on the side closest to you at 2:39. It was a few years before I found this feature on my own caulking gun. Good luck with your project.
Your gonna love this, On the tool the tube go's in, on the side of the handle is a round hole, and if you stick the tip of the calking tube inside it and sskweeze the two handle parts together they will cut the tip off. and under the end that the tube come out of is a rod that will puncture the tube so the goop come come out. If your gonna live in your Van, and it's gonna be your home, you need to take care and have patients so it'll last you a long time. Your not gonna want your covers touching the window so you need to give yourself a few inches for that and then your mattress is probably 8 inches thick, and that's going to lower the height of your wooden bed area, you also need to cut 2 inch holes on the wood under your mattress so the mattress can breath. You will want to put any water storage tank above the axle so it can carry the weight.
Hello there I don’t know I’ve been giving you any other comments but I like your content I like your honesty. Don’t try to explain things when you don’t know I like that and you’re doing you’re trying well and you’re asking for help from all the right people you be surprised with these old timer like us come up with from time to time we all got tricks put away, so the most important part of this conversation is merry Christmas and have a blessed and wonderful new year
I love watching your videos. I'm totally hooked and can't wait for the next one, your journey is absolutely amazing. You are the sweetest person on UA-cam.
A possible tip. Humble Road likes to do CAD (cardboard aided design). Basic mock up the layout with boxes and/or cardboard sheets. Cheap easy way to get a true feel for the space. Definitely plan for at least a swivel passenger seat.
Looks great! Id go with two swivel seats with a lagoon removable table between rather than a bench. Can’t believe you went with a van, but makes sense if you plan on traveling a lot! Kudos.
Hey Alisa I have built my own house and helped with other houses too You are building a small hous on wheel's 😊 My advice to you 1 find out where you need electrical power And install all the cables for Usb. Light. Fan. Air-conditioning. Fridge and more 2 then the insulation in the floor. Roof and wall and inside small rooms and cracks so it doesn't get condensation and rusty Sorry for the bad English Best regards Jesper
I’ve been watching-well done and thought out ideas. Many tips I’ve read in the comments-so you have a lot of help! Thank you for all your insight, and videos! David
Buen día Elisa! Should follow Humble Road van builder! He builds the whole interior using cardboard boxes to exact measurements of how he wants the interior space to be. Should give you an idea of what the space would look like before starting the build!
If you want to look after the paintwork on the roof, try rubbing ice cubes to remove / dissolve those spots. it's friendly to the topcoat and freezes the spot so it just pops right off!
Here's a different idea for shower Put it behind the drivers seat use the triangular shower pan on the floor and build off of the pan for your measuring on that side of the van😊
The little spots are rust, not pollen. They're likely from when the holes were cut for the Maxxairs fans. The tiny little specs of bare steel from sawing fall onto the roof and they tenaciously stick to horizontal surfaces! (Even after vacuuming). Then they get wet, rust and they're chemically bonded to the paint (That's why it took the Purple Stuff). You'll also commonly see them on lower inside portion under your slider door. Fortunately there is a really easy way to remove them. A small amount of Oxalic acid in hot water on a hot day and they literally wipe away. Oxalic acid can be found in premade rust cleaners, or it can be bought online.
As a car detailer - purchase an iron remover (Adams / Sonax / Chemical Guys) does the job. Spray it on the area allow to sit for 5minutes - the iron spots will turn purple - bleed off the car paint). Rinse the car and then do your regular car wash shampoo. The Purple Power (Super Clean or Zepp) are degreasers it will remove some but not all iron deposits. The iron deposits are also referred to as rail dust (near train rails and rail yards). Also the brake dust off car brakes / rotors. With Florida rain all this is on the road mixed with spill oils, gas and other contaminants. To keep car vehicle paint in top condition1) wash car - spray iron remover 2)compound 3) polish 4) add sealant (TurtleWax Seal n Shine). It’s extra work to stay ahead of paint protection. Hope this helps.
If you are worried about the sealant becoming contaminated by pollen then do that step in a garage. Once dry it can withstand the elements and be cleaned in the future with the amazing Purple cleaner. 😀
I'm a first time viewer and think your channel is great: just 10 months in and you seem to be growing well. You have all the elements for success, and assume you study other channels of women doing as you. ... I did a long trip by motorcycle, camping in nature; loved it. Thinking of converting a Subaru Outback for long term camping/exploration trips, etc. ... Everyone doing this comes up in my UA-cam?! ... Sharing personal stories and subjective experience, seems to be how the successful channels do this. ... I taught English in the Middle-East, quite the experience.
Elisa, just a suggestion consider the position of your bed to be like along the side with this folding bed couch I mean do not block the back door Maybe I misunderstood your bed plan Other thing, you are so talented in explaining your daily life , you can just keep posting your daily routine even short 5 or 10 minutes videos instead of being not posting for days, post every day or every other day believe me people are interested I wish you the best and happy new year
measure twice...... thrice...... then cut....... will save you plenty of headaches. take your time and keep doing what you are doing. you are doing fantastic and working the problems as they present themselves.... absolutely love this build and your approach! keep it up, when you finally get done and start seeing things take shape the rewards will be unimaginable.
Great vlog. Did you compare your 12 foot van's floorplan layout from others on the net? At least you have a strong goal and very motivated with your project.
CARDBOARD IS CHEAPER! Good Afternoon Miss Elisa, When I design custom furniture or offices and even for kitchens and bathrooms when folks cannot envision, I use cardboard. Fridge and washer/dryer boxes can be had from big box stores and then cut down for doing layout. You can mock up a cabinet in 3D with some tape and cardboard so you can move around and see if the size is too big or small, too tall or short or if it has enough room inside of it for plumbing pieces, electrical components or your storage totes. When it comes to colors the human mind is weak in one aspect; if you close one eye while staring a paint chip for 20 seconds, then you open the eye looking at the object or wall you consider for painting and you will see it in that color. Momentarily but you can decide better off of this info. I do apologize for the different names of things in the construction world. The old men created the skills and determined the size and scale long before standardization. Framing 16"s or 24"s or even 19-2"s only came into being because of plywood being 48"X96". You are doing a custom home for yourself so do not be limited by these silly rules. When I build ergonomic furniture, I build it to the users dimensions. We could not sit at the desks I have built for pro athletes especially basketball players. I say all this because I'd like for you to be happy in your home! Reconsider the shower size? It's a huge space taker for an occasional use item. Please check out van builds that limited the size with a little extra work to use so they could maximize their living space. Setting up a partition curtain outside of your toilet area reduces the stagnant size of the "bathroom/shower" but it increases your living space usefulness. Just food for thought. I am here to help in any way. With Respect and Love, You are in my prayers Hoka Hey
Love your channel you are a very dedicated and determined woman 💪. And gorgeous 😍🥰. By the way the caulk gun should have a built in cutter and a pin to poke a hole in the caulk. Keep doing what you are doing 🥰
I left a suggestion posted earlier that points to FREE conversion design software you can download. Make designing and building much easier to do. I hope you found it useful.
Alicia, a lot of the caulk guns have a wire type caulk tube poker built in the handle. Also, the specs on your roof may may been small specks of steel from all the cutting you've done when installing the windows. I cant remember if you washed the van after all that or not. Oops, I think you did.
CONTENT IS KING: You have to post everyday so the algorithm will kick you into the soup appearing on people's pages who are not subscribed to you but based upon what they already watched. You're bouncing off the bottom of the stack you want to bounce off the top of the stack by constant submissions. You are only going to get out of this what you put into it. Your so gorgeous you could blow this up if you wanted too...

Nice hair cut. Your mom did a great job.
I love that it’s your analogy, plan, and execution. It’s simple and to the point in a logical and calm manner. Good job! : )

She's the prettiest vanlife girl in existence.
I love your vibe! Very positive!!!
A little tip start with the most important thing you want and then work around for the rest.loving this build😊
💯 correct
Swivel seat is a pretty simple install with immediate and great daily use.
Love the real experience you are having and your not alone in the unknown frustration that can arise. Best of luck and have fun with the project 😊
I’M LOVING THIS JOURNEY!!!!! I know I’m late to the party but you are doing/done an amazing job!!!!!!
If you look on the side of the caulk gun it has a little rod that folds out for puncturing the caulk tube.
I’m super impressed on your task taken. I’m hooked! 👍👍👍👍👍
To help plan out your area use painters tape (blue tape) to figure your layout...removes easily.. Love watching your journey

Elisa love your videos. Happy to see you take on this project. Your doing a great job.
you did a great job, thanks for being real about these types of builds.
Use self-leveling colk next time so you don't have to use the stick. Great job!!

"Its just cute little old me!" 😊 You're doing a great job! Happy Holidays!

you're so amazing, how calm you always are. I wish I was in America instead of here in miserable Britain
It’s cool seeing you problem solve and take your time with maintenance and also working on new projects. Keep up the great work!

Great planning. Better to think things thoroughly through and take your time. 👍
Your house will look wonderful....Good job !!! I m your fan..
You are proving that anyone can build a campervan even if you never have done it before. Go Elisa!!
Looks great! Id go with two swivel seats with a lagoon removable table between rather than a bench. Can’t believe you went with a van, but makes sense if you plan on traveling a lot! Kudos.
Very detail oriented. Cant wait to see the finished van. Im sure it will be awesome!
Hey Alisa I have built my own house and helped with other houses too
You are building a small hous on wheel's 😊
My advice to you
1 find out where you need electrical power
And install all the cables for
Usb. Light. Fan. Air-conditioning. Fridge and more
2 then the insulation in the floor. Roof and wall and inside small rooms and cracks so it doesn't get condensation and rusty
Sorry for the bad English
Best regards Jesper
Sorry Elisa i got your name rong
Have a nice day 😊
Thanks!
Mike, Thank you so much for supporting my channel! :)
I’ve been watching-well done and thought out ideas. Many tips I’ve read in the comments-so you have a lot of help! Thank you for all your insight, and videos! David
Merry Christmas from the UK ,great vid's and happy adventures in the new year XX
I love watching this channel.
Great video! The things you say make me laugh sometimes. Blessings and Merry Christmas from Texas
I hope everything goes well on your build it seems like you have a good plan
I hope you had a joyful Christmas with family and friends love from England uk
Another Great Video 👍 Great content, keep up the great work!
This project is coming along nicely 👍
Buen día Elisa! Should follow Humble Road van builder! He builds the whole interior using cardboard boxes to exact measurements of how he wants the interior space to be. Should give you an idea of what the space would look like before starting the build!
It's looking good, So is the van....👍
Top tip use washing up liquid and put it on your finger to cure the silicone
One tip I can give is most caulking guns have a cutter and a poking tool built into the gun. But yeah maybe for next time.
keep it up all your hard work will pay off
If you want to look after the paintwork on the roof, try rubbing ice cubes to remove / dissolve those spots. it's friendly to the topcoat and freezes the spot so it just pops right off!
Clay bar removes rust and fall out
Here's a different idea for shower
Put it behind the drivers seat use the triangular shower pan on the floor and build off of the pan for your measuring on that side of the van😊
You are doing fantastic!
Great video with great tips! Thank you!
Dawn dishwashing liquid works for washing vans. You don't always need the expensive stiuff, even though they recommend it $$$
Your hair blowing around at the end was fabulouss. 😆

Van is coming along very well, and I like how you plan ahead on task. Remember “ Rome wasn’t built in a day” keep up the great work!
at this rate hopefully my great grand children finish this project 🤣
@@soloelisa 😂
Follow tutorial by Greg Virgo he has just finished a similar van. You will learn a lot from his full tutorial
Great video. I enjoy watching the process it takes to customize your own van. God bless and Merry Christmas to you and your family!
alica , u seem to know what ur doing, can't wait to c it completed.merry christmas and happy new year to u and bunny.
Love your show and your intelligence.
Your doing a great job with your project!!!!!
I just wanna let you know on your cocking.Gun, there is a cutter and a built-in poking. And break the see you on your cocking gun
Elisa, you thrill me. I Love your videos.
If you are worried about the sealant becoming contaminated by pollen then do that step in a garage. Once dry it can withstand the elements and be cleaned in the future with the amazing Purple cleaner. 😀
You look great in jeans. I like your planning out within inside the van. I think it will look great. Keep it going...🎥😃👍👌👊🙏❤️❤️❤️
Merry Christmas and you might consider going to the Tampa supershow in January if you live in Florida.

Elisa, just a suggestion consider the position of your bed to be like along the side with this folding bed couch
I mean do not block the back door
Maybe I misunderstood your bed plan
Other thing, you are so talented in explaining your daily life , you can just keep posting your daily routine even short 5 or 10 minutes videos instead of being not posting for days, post every day or every other day believe me people are interested
I wish you the best and happy new year
Excellent job 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Elisa, eres una mujer graciosa y simplemente hermosa en persona. God bless your projects!
Keep living your dream and goodluck on your build
Happy holidays 🎄☃️ best wishes ❤

Great vlog. Did you compare your 12 foot van's floorplan layout from others on the net? At least you have a strong goal and very motivated with your project.
CARDBOARD IS CHEAPER!
Good Afternoon Miss Elisa,
When I design custom furniture or offices and even for kitchens and bathrooms when folks cannot envision, I use cardboard.

Love your channel you are a very dedicated and determined woman 💪. And gorgeous 😍🥰. By the way the caulk gun should have a built in cutter and a pin to poke a hole in the caulk. Keep doing what you are doing 🥰
You could put a swivel base on your passenger seat for seating
Plan on taking the van across country? Head west of the great plains it is beautiful out there with lots of public land to stay at.
I hope you keep posting videos, I'm almost caught up with your journey and would like to see more!
I will, thank you!
I left a suggestion posted earlier that points to FREE conversion design software you can download. Make designing and building much easier to do. I hope you found it useful.
Take your time because It doesn't matter how long it takes as long as you're happy with the end result
Alicia, a lot of the caulk guns have a wire type caulk tube poker built in the handle. Also, the specs on your roof may may been small specks of steel from all the cutting you've done when installing the windows. I cant remember if you washed the van after all that or not. Oops, I think you did.
a lot of time its referred to as Rail dust, and a clay bar and clay lube removes it best

Hi Elisa,a great video again.
