Hello ma'am.
My son is 7 years old. He started learning the letters by phonics only. Now we changed him a another school bcz of his dad's job. In this school they're not prioritize the phonics, they teaching the words by letters name only.
They're giving long words such as Information, protective, environment, posture & pollution etc. So my son is struggling to memorize these words for dictation. I need to know whether the sound system or by the letters name would be easy for him to learn this words for preparing dictation. Can u plz suggest me any ideas regarding my issues?
Always reading with sounds will be easy. But in English we cannot read all the words with sounds.we can spilit the Longer words and ask the children to practice . most of the words you mentioned will not go with regular sounds. Children have to read more and they will learn the pattern. Only way is to practice daily. Daily reading is must and also dictation .
