I love how you teamed Phoenix up with She-Hulk (another lawyer) and pitted him against Jean (another Phoenix).
While I do love Max, I highly recommend looking at Lythero. He has an excellent Phoenix Wright tutorial on his channel. It's also worth noting that the combo shown is significantly harder than it needs to be. The "Justice Loop" is a much more efficient combo, killing any enemy character with one bar of hyper and Turnabout Mode
Yeah but Max didn't have a whole lot of time to lab this game. Remember he was commissioned by Capcom to do this mini series so probably a lot of the info came from them.

Slower, but arguably one of the best characters in the entire game. Also I like how he can get an assist from Maya or Missile (The Dog)

If Pheonix wright gets into smash bros, he should totally have the same or similar mechanic to this one. But maybe change the hit boxes or something
Well, the games play totally differently, so they'd need to basically make him for the game. It's not as simple as putting him in with a few edits. The only things that could really carry over are some of his moves.

Phoenix Wright seems a little tricky to get a hold of at first, but seems to be well worth it in the end. Plus he's my childhood sooo this was a treat to watch ^^
I think that it is awesome that a character who aren't a fighter come in a fighting game. It's a challange for the game-developer to make such a character into a fighter.
That's why, I like to use Phoenix Wright even not because I am a fan of Ace Attorney! ;)

On a sidenote, I prefer Press the Witness as my assist, because the rest of my main composition (Morrigan and Ghost Rider) contribute greatly from this in the middle of combos. And Get 'Em, Missile! gains no bonus if Nick is in Turnabout, while his other two become Paperwork Storm and Break the Witness.
12 years on and this video series is still as entertaining as it was when it first released.

Good luck with learning Iron Fist mate! Back when I played UMvC3 He was always my point character and was my favorite character in the game, he takes a little while to get used to, but after that he is so good.

The live-action segments gave me a good laugh. That was great.
Actually Max, Phoenix can use missle as a regular attack. If you are close enough to the opponant, phoenix can do an attack where he will step out of the way going "Missle?!" And missle will charge at the enemy. This video helped me learn how to play as Phoenix effectively. Thank you for your help! ^^

Phoenix isn't physically hurting his enemies, he's mentally hurting them by damaging their integrity. Whenever he presents you that cell phone that you used to call that hitman, the blue balls are just a metaphor for justice, and the health represents your innocence.

I was playing Lego Marvel Super Heroes and using Doom while watching this. It makes it so much better because you can act out Doom's lines.

But Phoenix Wright's "Maya sliding" special
does a different knockdown depending on whether it is medium or heavy.
Medium does a heavy knockdown and
Heavy makes the opponent spin in the air for a bit.

Hey, I just got this game, so I apologize if this answer is obvious, but...
I'll press ATK and S at the same time to attempt to pick up evidence, and it won't work. I'm in investigation mode, and it still won't work.
This is happening with a lot of the moves he can do. I just want to know what I'm doing wrong.
***** I don't have Marvel, so I don't know a lot about controls or special move button combinations, or, anything... but I believe I saw someone state that you can't use Simple Controls or you won't be able to do a lot with Wright. I'm probably wrong though, whatever...

You forgot to include that Press the Witness assist in Turnabout mode becomes probably the best assist in the game. Think Haggar's vanilla assist, but it doesn't use red health, has more horizontal reach and causes a wall bounce. It's freakin scary.
I still can't believe they put a freaking lawyer in a fighting game, and he's GOOD.
yes, You can spam the loop, if you memorize the movements muscle memory kicks in. And you can't hit with a log trap or a hidden missle if you are in the corner getting pummeled by zero.
Thus making the "Missile" in Ghost Trick (which was also a game for the DS before being an app) a throwback to their earlier works.
@StriForce - Didn't you listen to the video? The whole point is to get to Turnabout as FAST AS POSSIBLE. This is one reason why they give you Maya - she can help you as a barrier, after all, protecting you while you search for evidence (which, by the way, is fairly fast so if you get three pieces of evidence that are solid fast then you can easily get yourself into Courtroom Mode then Turnabout.)

@Gamdeng2 1. no, you can't unless you hit them with objection and it makes them dizzy.
2. when he's in turnabout mode and you switch him, all his assists are invincible
3. i think you can right when the hammer hits and the characters go flying
4. you can't counter his level 3, it's a 0 frame move but still blockable. meaning if you were doing something other than blocking when he does it, you have no time to do anything before he catches you

I was watching thuis for phoenix Wright, but after i saw the Iron Fist tutorial and practicing a little, i am now in the way to leran iron fist.
I don't know, Max. I actually believe that Pressing the Witness is the better Assist move. And once you get Mr. Wright into Turnabout Mode and you use it, it becomes a lot more effective because of the buffed up damage and Wright can move quicker too while keeping your combos up and running.
The Get 'Em Missle looks nice, but it's kinda limited, I think. Not to mention that since it travels low, it's easier to dodge with a simple jump.
The dog from the 'Get them Missile' assist is from Ghost Trick, a puzzle app from Capcom.
Wright's the type of character where you really need to take time out to know his strengths weaknesses, etc. In other words he's not the type of character for newbies who need a quick fix.
But once he's mastered, god damn he's a powerhouse, and the battle will certainly go the "Wright" way in your favor.
Now I wonder, since Wright revolves around evidence collecting, who are some good assists for him, apart from Maya in his moveset?

You know what I find funny? In the video where Max first talked about Iron Fist, he speculated that Iron Fist being a "Slow but heavy hitter" sort of character yet in this video he finds himself saying "He can move in the blink of an eye".
Holy crap Max, this episode was beyond brilliant. The UltraWright bits were absolutely fantastic and hilarious, especially the testimony part! I literally laughed out loud.
Iron Fist also looks pretty interesting, I might have to check him out when the game is released.
