    Battery warranty??? That's what I want to know. EGO is 5 years. People complain about EGO batteries failing and EGO's fast charger is around 45 minutes to an hour. Fast charging lithium batteries degrades the cells extremely fast. Charging in 8 minutes will kill the life of the battery but if they are giving you a 5 year warranty and you can keep changing them out for 5 years then it definitely is a game changer. Have you seen EGO's new pro line? The way you can quick change the power head is definitely a game changer too

    A couple things:
    First, the lawnmower cut out three times during the video. I suspect the first two were from overload and the third from a dead battery. So either the motor is not as powerful as it seems, or all three are from a dead battery, meaning the runtime is incredibly short.
    Second, if you are mulching and the lawnmower spits out a bunch of clippings once it hits a hard surface, it’s not mulching very well. The “No clippings on the grass” comment is nullified by blowing all those clippings onto the grass at the end.

    Very interesting charging advantage. But it's not as unusual when you look closer. I figure they are charging at level two speed in automotive terms. 50v x 12Wh = 0.6kWh and can fully charge in 15min. If my math is right, it would take about 4.25hrs to charge 10kWh which is the same as my Chevy Volt's usable capacity. So, they are charging these batteries at about 16amps. I'm not an electrician, just an EV driver.

    • @QuietLawn
      @QuietLawn  Рік тому

It's important that these companies hear what we're looking for. I've told them and others that being lightweight and maneuverable is much more important than building a bulletproof tool that nobody wants to use because of weight. The more people they hear this from, the faster they can make tools that we're looking for. Stay tuned for that video.

      AS Motor are a very specialised niche market equipment, not really comparable to anything else…
      The AS 510 E-ProClip runs over AUD$4,000 PLUS batteries. I’m going to go out on a limb and say the Kress mower WITH battery will be somewhat less expensive.
      Pellenc Rasion 2 is the market leader in commercial lithium push mowers, but again a bit different with a 24” cut. All day runtime with a single battery so charging is not an issue. 3 year commercial warranty. Priced around AUD$5-5.5k including battery and charger. But I’m not sure if they’re available in the U.S., seems like a very insular market.
      The only downside with high voltage batteries are the heavier weight. They suit higher powered equipment which is naturally heavier like mowers, but handheld gear is a different story. To me Husqvarna 536 lithium line trimmer has the perfect balance and other brands like Pellenc have some of the best hedge trimmers I’ve ever used. I don’t see any problem running multiple battery systems, I am using 4 different battery systems currently if you include Milwaukee power tools.
