Ma'am according to defination of Hindu Marriage Act 1955, S. 3(G) marriage between cousins is void. In Southern States they marry to there cousins (bua and mama k bacho se) but it's legal. Why?
It is legal because in sec 3 (a) it is mentioned that any custom and usage which having been continuously and uniformly observed for a long period of time has obtained force of law. In south India it is a custom from a long period of time that they marry to their (mama's son and daughter as well as their Bua's son and daughter).
