It's just too hard to climb if you aren't at that level. Or you are good but playing for mostly fun and not to climb. But if we are talking about pure lp gains Lud climbed from Iron 1, I believe. So he gained around 1300-1400 lp.
From singapore, and it has genuinely been so annoying to play with PH players. Not bcs they're bad but bcs of their connection issues. I literally had 7/10 games i played have an afk PH player bcs of their connection. It's literally come to a point where whoever has less PH players win...

in all of the games i've played that merged most asian servers, i've yet to see one game where we weren't ultra racists towards each other, doesn't matter if it's mobile or pc. this season will be great

Philippines to sg is 35-50 ping. So a lot already plays at sg instead of ph servers. The problem is that the ping wildly flactuates which is more of the problem.

The ping is definitely playable. It just takes some time to get used to it. Jumping from 3 ms to 50 ms is big especially if you've played on that ping for a long time. Only time will tell if the merging is good or not.
It IS big, esp if you're playing at 1ms previously like I am. Kiting and weaving is pretty much x5 difficult now. Most of the time, you gotta anticipate skillshots now instead of reacting at them.

It's basically survival of the fittest now in ranked since those that can adapt to the new ping will surely climb and those that can't will be hardstuck, go down, or even worse, quit the game. Although if I were Rito and had no issue with all the tedious coding and such, I would've implemented a system like in Valorant wherein the Asia-Pacific is one big region but you can choose to play on any server you want for the optimal ping. Crossplay between countries is still possible while giving the players the freedom to choose the server they'd want to play. However, since the league client is built on an old spaghetti code they had for decades, that's a tall order. I think it's possible if they really want to, but it would need so much resources from them that I think they don't wanna risk it.
so that's why I'm teamed up with non-PH like they're speaking in korean or something :D but one thing that I noticed is that you know if they chat up it's almost always flaming your team or something.
SEA rat here, my ping before the merge is 2 ms now its 49, a bit happy because the queue time is greatly reduced but it will take time for me to adjust because other players from different server have kinda different playstyle and at first day we've already met a scripter in ranked match too, thankfully it was terminated.
SEA merge is the worst to be honest, just the ping alone encompass everything wrong with it, from 9ms to 50ms, that ms is from the very start s1 we get less than 20ms 🤣🤣

To be fair he was being coached by multiple different challengers/ex pros. I played a game against him where he was being live coached by pobelter lmao (which we won xdd). So yes its still nice that he did make the climb but its a little disingenuous to say he did it himself. Also not to mention he did solo queue on the back end of his climb but he was duoing at the start.
