The Australian Gold is my very favorite! It goes on so smoothly and doesn't feel heavy or greasy and, the best part, it's also the best makeup primer I've ever used, I think. It's fantastic! Sadly, I can't find it anywhere anymore. Occasionally I can find the deep shade but the fair doesn't exist anymore. I've written to the company and they said it's only on backorder and not discontinued but... it's not out there anywhere and hasn't been for months so I don't have high hopes for its return.

I agree, Australian Gold is my favorite, 'ride or die' SPF. It survives my hard-core cardio workouts and hot flashes, plus it's a great primer for foundation. I feel your pain, it used to be everywhere, CVS, Target, Rite Aide, now it's as rare as hen's teeth. I hope it's only a supply chain issue or the company is reformulating it (vs. discontinuing it). I finally bit the bullet and ordered directly from the company's website. Got four tubes because I know I'll use it.

Ulta Beauty tinted mineral screen is my holy grail! It’s matte but a silky matte. Australian Gold is my second fave, slightly more matte which can be a little drier.

Thanks for all the swatches! That’ll help guide my next pick.
I currently use the Australian Gold on my nose and forehead, since it has a pore blurring and mattifying effect, and the Colorescience original Sunforgettable on my cheeks, jawline, etc. where my skin craves more moisture and where I like having a more dewy finish. It also stretches the CS, which is more expensive than the AG.

Thanks for sharing all of these options! I always stayed away from tinted sunscreens because I had a hard time finding one for my complexion, but I'll give it another try. I also really appreciate how open and honest you are about your skin and really encouraging those of us watching to be proactive about protection. I am super prone to hyperpigmentation very easily, so I know the pain.

It was in my testing of the Australian Gold formula that I ultimately concluded that I have dry skin because that sunscreen dried my out so bad. It felt like a layer of wax. It is the only beauty product I have ever returned after opening because I couldn't get it to work. Might be better for people with oily skin, but my skin hated it. The Cotz Flawless Complexion is a good affordable alternative if you have dry skin. I love the Kinship, especially for early evening events where I want to look nice. So glowy and an alternative to foundation if I don't have an major blemishes or dark spots to cover. I really want to try that new Isdin sunscreen making the rounds on social media.

Ugh, I didn’t like the way Australian Gold felt on my skin either, like none of it absorbed or set, I just felt coated. It’s too bad, I wanted to love it, for the price and how easy it was to find. EltaMD tinted 41 is better, it seems to soak in a little and looks and feels much more natural. I also like Supergoop tinted sunscreens.

Hey, Sarah! Thank you for doing the research on such a plethora of tinted moisturizers for all of us!
I, too, just recently began using the Iris & Romeo Weekend Skin SPF50, and it's gonna become a HG for me! A side note: you commented that your left hand has aged better than your right. One would think it would be the opposite with it having more sun exposure while driving, etc. It took me a bit to deduce that it might be due to the fact that I "mix" my skincare products on the left hand. I literally have no significant hyperpigmentation on this hand. Sadly, I cannot claim this to be true of the right hand 😪
Finally, keep being YOU! We are sorely deficit of sincere happiness and humor in our social world today.

Hi Sarah I like the colourscience original spf50 as a tinted everyday spf. The other one I like is the ultrasun spf50+ in ivory (it's the palest tinted spf I've found and is only for very fair skin). These are the two I use - depending on how much sun exposure I'm going to get that day. Both of these are just enough to blur some imperfections and use concealer with, skipping the foundation for me. It really depends how much you have to cover though, as neither would be enough when my rosacea is really fiery. Best wishes.

@@NOBSBeauty That’s because scientists discovered a big hole in the ozone layer above Australia (skin cancer was on the rise there and they were trying to find out why) in the 80’s. I don’t know but it’s hard for me to trust sunscreens that only rely on physical filters after all that have been said. I prefer a combo of both mineral and chemical filters sunscreens. I understand some people can’t handle chemical ones so I would recommend to avoid being in the sun for a long time. I always encourage people to be proud of their own natural skin color tone and avoid sunbathing. Love yourself, body and skin. Take care, Send you lots of love ❤️
Ps. That PC sunscreen is really drying it sucks up the moisture out of my skin so always make sure to moisturize if you happen to have a dry sky like mine.
