Man, the sounds are jamming. I am looking up the station as I type. Also, enjoying your built project.

I purchased these plans and spend 3-4 years building and finally gave up and had a tow truck take to the dump. You will find there is not enough detail to the plans when you flip the boat over. I wish you the very best of luck. I look forward to seeing your progress.

How much money did you spend up until that point and what did you estimate the build to cost?

I know what you mean. I purchased a 9meter catamaran and I find that there are not enough (For me) info . I see other plans and come as a book with lots of details. I am at the lofting process and over 6 months I will be starting with the build.

How's progress? We have these plans and plan to build our Aquarama as a project for our shipwright and apprentices. The plans are a good start but still need to do the engineering of the various systems.

i build several runabouts from glenn l disigns. last couple of years i build exactly this one and is in the water this year. i build it with one engine because petrol is expensive overhere.
The boat runs very smooth . These drawnings do not give the right deckplan but in "carlo the legend, riva the myth books ""are very good layouts. Stick as much to the original and you wil have a beautifull boat.

Do you have photos to share?
I go for a twin V8 installation as I want to be loyal to the original Carlo Riva desing

Was painting the best idea? Aren't these bonded to the hull? The epoxy will be stuck to the paint and not the timber.

I didn’t paint the surfaces to be bonded to the hull cladding; by purpose. After fairing the frames, cladding will be able to bond to the frames

I purposely didn’t paint the parts of the frames where I will be gluing to in near future

Why didn’t you choose to thicken the expoxy first?

To my knowledge you should only use thickened epoxy when filling gaps. Here I am bonding two plane surfaces, so no reason to thicken the epoxy.
      Pls. subscribe and stay tuned
