It's beautiful every time and doesn't get old IMO but the day to day practical aspects of being a husband and father and properly raising a wife and kids as they get older can be a grind and sometimes even a brutal struggle, as you have to have the will to lead by example and make the tough choices nobody else is able to.

Pepé Le Pew was the most romantic male animated character. He gave Penelope Pussycat an abundance of attention and adoration, and she constantly rejected him and treated him like a chump. Daisy Duck is still accepted with her extensive notch count and predatory behavior, yet poor Pepé Le Pew has been *cancelled* from the Warner Brothers catalogue.

    • @VRmission38

Pepe unfortunately was “unaware” of himself. As sorry as I felt for his unrequited love, I understood things from Penelope’s position. There’s an incredibly hilarious episode where he “discovers” why Penelope and others bolt whenever he makes an appearance. Penelope decides that it shouldn’t matter because Pepe loves her. So she stinks herself on purpose to be with him and Pepe can’t take it. Lmao 🤣

It's so funny how a cartoon from the 50's about women can still show you everything you need to know about women today. From the body count, to hiding her bad ass kids (brothers, right) that you got to pay for, to her manipulative lying scheming ways for tricking a man, to her bait-and-switch marriage trap tactics, and finally showing her real undesirable nature and looks only after she thinks she has a man fully trapped and under control.

The word husband means slave. The word ‘husband’ actually means ‘fastened, confined or chained to a house’, quite literally a ‘house slave’. Not coincidentally, this is exactly what happens when a man ties himself to a single woman through marriage; he becomes severely limited and confined to his household - a slave having to work hard to provide for his ‘family’ (and remember, the word ‘family’ means ‘the slaves in a household’).
hus’ which is an Old English word (also Old Norse ‘hús’, Old Frisian ‘hus’, Dutch ‘huis’, German ‘Haus’) meaning ‘house, dwelling, shelter’ and
‘band’ which means ‘bind, fasten, confine, chain’. The word ‘band’ is a variant of the Middle English word ‘bond’ which also had the meaning ‘slave, serf, unfree, dweller’.
