Downloaded and examined single frames. Yes. Definitely one massive crack around 50% of the rod, plus a smaller one running parallel to it, maybe 20-30mm away. This is an ex rod, it is no more, it has gone to rod heaven to meet it's maker, it is pushing up daisies... it is a "late" rod. 🤣
The rod they'r trying to straighten is not same than the one who's polished... The first one is good for the scrap yard !

Why not use hardwood blocks in the press to avoid marring the rod? That’s what I did but I used a bottle jack because I didn’t have a press.
That is what I thought at first, but it looks like there is a wood or hard rubber block on the end of the piston.
