    I feel like there is such a pressure in the community to “read through the Bible in a year.” Thank you for encouraging true study and worship and patience and REST in Gods word.

    • @FlourishInHisWordwithJudy

      Yes, I definitely agree regarding the pressure. I do truly believe we should be reading the entire Bible, whether it takes one year or two years. It’s definitely good to make an effort to read the entire Bible through, but we should not be pressured on how much we read daily but allow God to guide us through it.
      My plan as of now is to take one year of really slowing down and deep study and every other year read through the entire Bible so that I get the full understanding of the Word. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!💛

    Thank you for this video!! I love how you’ve explained your study method. This is similar to how I’ve been studying but I can get all the facts and make my lists on what the scripture is telling me which has really brought me so much into closer relationship with God but application is my area in need of improvement so I really enjoyed your sharing of the questions you ask yourself! Amazing job!

    Thank you, Judy, for this video. The Lord has impressed upon me to do just what you displayed in this video. I, too, tend to lean on the commentaries more than the Holy Spirit when it comes to learning His Word. I have been having a great time reading through the cross references and finding so much revelation through them. Those cross references are not there to take up space on the pages but to lead you through His Word to find His revelation. Great discussion. Yes, please do more videos on the principles of this type of Bible study. Not to teach us His word, but how to put into practice the mechanics of studying His word. God bless you and keep you!

      I am basically doing three steps for each first. Step one writing a summary of what the verse is saying in a couple of sentences. Step two is writing what does this mean about God, what are any attributes or things he’s saying or not saying or anything that points to him. And step three is application. Hope this helps!

    Is it disjointed to read a single verse even when it is only part of the sentence? I tend to read sentences as a whole, but I’m always open for a new way to get more from the Word, but I’m concerned with splitting sentences.

    • @FlourishInHisWordwithJudy
      @FlourishInHisWordwithJudy  3 місяці тому +2

      Hi, thanks for you question. I don’t find it to be disjointed as long as you read the surrounding verses and read it in context as I mentioned in the video. I would not recommend just reading a single verse to study unless you read the book, chapter and/or full sentence to get the full context before studying the verse. But for this type of study method I do like focusing on one verse at a time. But definitely do what works best for you😊

    how do you decide on what chapter study?

    • @FlourishInHisWordwithJudy
      @FlourishInHisWordwithJudy  3 місяці тому

      I usually would start in the beginning of a book and study an entire book from beginning to end. This way you’ll get the full context of the whole book. And doing it one chapter at a time will allow you to take your time.

    This has great content but too wordy yes. BUT what you taught was excellent just too much repeat on many things. I often wonder why if one is going to do videos thats it not plan out completely on what needs to be said and have the reference pages already mark to make quick access instead on thumbing through the Bible to find the book. I see this all the time. Strange that most folk do not plan .
