    Thank You! I never thought of using the dehydration function for tomatoes. That means Egg Plant as well......Awesome! Musakka, here I come!!!!

    I used your recipe tonight, revamped slightly, to do some fried eggplant. I omitted the cornmeal, using garbanzo flour, dried breadcrumbs, AP flour and just a bit of corn starch. After cooking in the Foodi and cooling on a rack, I froze them on a baking sheet for 2 hours, then put them in a Ziploc bag. Now I can pull some out, add sauce and cheese, and bake for a quick side dish. Trying to keep up with all the eggplant coming out of my garden!

      That’s great! My eggplant plants didn’t grow at all. Not sure what happened.

      They are just regular tomatoes that aren't fully ripe.

    I have the SCOOP & SPREAD and I use it for everything. I love it. I have the smaller one as well but do not use it as much. I highly recommend the scoop and spread.

    Fried green tomatoes are very popular apparently in Georgia and places like that. My best pal in Georgia America loves them. We don't get them here in Scotland UK unfortunately.

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  4 роки тому

      Yes, they are a southern favorite. It's hard to buy green tomatoes here, but easy to grow regular tomatoes and just pick them before they ripen.

    you could always use a fork to hold the end of the tomato as it gets too small to safely hold with your fingers.

    Thank you for this video! I wish that I had my Ninja Foodi when my husband was alive. He loved fried green tomatoes, but not all the grease from frying them. I would have loved to have been able to have made these like this for him! Love your videos! Are you getting any of the new Ninja Foodi appliances that are coming out very soon! Would love to see you make videos with the new ones!

    The eggs that you use.... Keep the shells....let them dry, then crush them up. Add to dirt when planting tomatoes.... the calcium in the shells will STOP Blossom end rot on Tomatoes.
    Also plant tomatoes below first set of leaves for better rooting system.

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  3 роки тому

      I have heard mixed thoughts on that, but I do keep the shells. I give them to my chickens for added calcium.

    Would you dehydrate Pickles for a few minutes before breading them for Fried pickles?

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  5 років тому +1

      Christopher Wright you could, but because they are already picked I wouldn’t bother. I would get them blotted dry though.

    Maybe I’m weird but I find the stainless sprayer MUCH better but the plastic ones are good too. I don’t use any other brand. I’ve wasted a LOT of money on poor sprayers.

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  5 років тому

      I haven't tried the stainless yet. Is that a pump action or still a squeeze trigger?

    • @debrahutto7403

      It’s a easy pump but it gives long good dispersed sprays

    How is the bottom getting brown??? I thought this was a air fryer... Twenty minutes for only five pieces??? Not very efficient...

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  2 роки тому

      It is an air fryer and the bottom gets brown from circulating air. The timing depends on what you are cooking and 25 minutes at the temp I set is what gave the best results. There isn't any difference if you used a different air fryer, but you can do more at one time if you have a larger cooking surface.

    Lou I need to pick your brain again. Please stop groaning lol. Until I receive my racks could I dehydrate in the basket until then?. I'm so glad that in my ninja foodi max I have the dehydration function.

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  4 роки тому

      You can dehydrate on the rack that came with the Foodi or the basket, but only in one layer.
