You have all the love and appreciation in the physical world, it's only here in the psychology stuff, because us Intuitives are looked-down upon in society because we're weird.
      It's a bias towards N's, not against S's!

INTPeanut I hear ya bruh, it sucks being marginalized and ignored by society. As an SP I wanna say thank you to you intuitive types for advancing society with philosophy, science and technology, the world wouldn’t be the same without you guys.

@@karlstrauss2330 To be fair, plenty of Sensor's advance those areas, when they're aspiring (according to Chase's theory).
Without all the infrastructure, tools and physical stuff you folks have produced/maintained etc, much would still mearly exist as thought experiments.
Roll-on Jungian being "common sense" and we can all appreciate what eachother brings, our blindspots and our "delicate spots" ..... so the bitching and fighting can be friendly banter, rather than arrogant ignorance that others may be different to ourselves, without just being "crap".

Greetings from an ESTJ, let us all empower ourselves to aspire so that we can "wake up" more SJs and SPs to know about cognitive psychology.

    Hey Chase,
Looking good in that sweatshirt! You look more relaxed.
My university professor and mentor was an ISTP. She wasn't liked much by others for her harsh and controlling behavior. I liked her because she was brilliant despite everything else. She also worked on helping out people in many ways. She helped me grow out of my one track mind and develop my Ti. I'm forever grateful I met that lady on my path.

Most ISTPs are actually very calibrated due to their Se, they initiate robot protocols by scanning their surroundings and using logic to initialise social protocol 1479.
A lot of them kinda seem like narrow focused and more crazy/fun ENTPs when they are confident and a little drunk

38 minutes in and this video is super inspirational. I'm an isfp - all of this is true and super helpful. I really like how you see beyond the surface level of the types to their true potential. I don't only mean that you see past mbti stereotypes. In real life tooi think many people even without knowledge of mbti 'judge a book by it's cover'. They might see both these types as kinda quiet, istp maybe kinda gruff, good at fixing things, isfp kinda timid, maybe creative or whatever and then can't see much past that surface level. But you see e.g. that they can make people stronger through Se parent (and that actually this is their purpose) - I never even realised I did this till you said it, but it's true. I often won't mollycoddle people when i see they are weak at something (and i sense when they are), instead i softly try and push them out of their comfort zone. You also see that e.g. istps can be great teachers, and isfps can become leaders, and that their happiness actually requires this and it can help do good in the world. I honestly think more narrow minded people out there may scoff at the idea of these types doing these things (oh that little isfp leading something? That gruff istp caring to teach? etc) - untill they actually do. But you see past all the surface stuff right away to what is truly there, and motivate people to get there through these videos. That's kind of magical :-)

Thanks for understanding Fi hero and sharing this with others. Our silence can become a vicious circle - worried what people think so silent, so noone hears our opinion/input so noone can value it or give it credit, so then we feel bad and worry people dont think much of us so then we stay more silent. Another point that's very true in this video is that Se needs something to show for their work - yes

Man, I really have to thank you again for your videos. I don't regularly watch them... more like binge on them every now and then (Kind of like podcast-asmr for sleeping). But I think I as an ISTP really, really understood something about a certain person whom I believe to be an ISFP now. I'll try my best not to piss her off with my advice and help anymore! I know that my cold logic can seem callous at times... but I'll keep an extra eye out in those cases.
It's strange. I really love her, even though everybody seems to think that we should be like oil and water. But I think that our similarities are a strength. And her emotional side really made a better man out of me. At least I like to think so. She may feel otherwise. Haha.

I do understand now what you mean about the ENFP fine print but I think most of us dont know we are doing it. We are very careful with our words and assume everyone else is paying just as much attention. Then I matured a little (like 3 months ago lololol) and I was like oh I guess people dont pay attention to every word someone is saying and then additionally analyze it for meaning...weird, amiright? That explains the end of 2 of my friendships (products of me being unaware of my skepticism and distrust of others intent). And on the flip side with enfps doing the contract thing with isfps, I got a bro who gets the best NE advice me and my infp sister can offer. He's on the rise and he's gonna kill it. Isfps are truly great people!

ISTP here, I used to be precisely as you describe, a man of few words, however, beggining around two years ago I began heading towards a complete 180 in terms of public speaking and confidence.
Today, I'm 32 and find I'm the first person in a group to speak up, speak my mind, tell it like it is and say far more on the subject than those around me. Is this a somewhat normal progression for an ISTP or have I potentially done specific things leading to this new me?

That’s me and my younger sis and while we both carefree and rebellious we are significantly different. Like she’s more assertive insistent and so on and i’m more quiet and ppl think i’m more naive and obedient when in reality my sister is just very insistent and doesn’t stop until my parents or teachers allow her to do what she wants. Me on the other hand if i ask for something and get refused I’ll pretend i listen i’m like:”ok as u say” and then do whatever i want anyway or sometimes don’t even bother to ask for permission.
When we argue she’s driving my parents teachers friends and me mad by being extremely rude and “brutal” while me in an Argument i’m like ignoring the person or being like very passive:ok “whatever” “i don’t care” or just nod and i drive ppl mad by being passive. I’m also way more dreamy and artistic and way more friendly than she is while she’s definitely more logical and assertive and practical. Also when we want ppl out of our lives she will argue with them and just tell it while i just ignore their existance and just don’t call them anymore

I don't know. I'm starting to wonder if i'm ISFP because the whole thing about "you need to show the ISFP you think highly of them" is a HUGE part of the reason I love my ENTP so much. He's the first person really to brag about my accomplishments (even if sometimes he over hypes me) to everyone and I REALLY love him for that. It gave me so much energy that now i'm doing really really well in school! I mean my dad (ESTP) did that a little, but my dad always restricted my freedom where my ENTP is happy to let me make decisions whenever I want and even calls me his north star. idk, this seems way more accurate to me than any of the infj vids...

This was true when I lived with my sister for 5 yrs. It was hard. Then I decided to let go and free her. However part of that control was financial support, advice, food, caring meticulously, etc. When I let her be, I just shut up and wait for her to ask something from me.

I rather telling people the truth.I want them to open their eyes and learn what I've learned through experience.A few years ago when I was younger people were telling me I'm harsh on them and I do not want to hurt others but on the other hand if I don't tell them what I think I'm going to be mad at myself so I started to learn soften telling them my opinion kindly ( It's like " I understand why are you saying this/ feeling like this but let's see our problem from this point of view and that perspective" or "I personally don't recommend that for these reasons") I learned to teach people how to react to a certain situation you need to give them some examples that worked and also the freedom of choosing / making their own

So Ti can be pictured as a logic specialist sitting at a desk and reviewing every single piece of information one after the other. I guess the higher up Ti sits in the ego, the higher the capacity for information. So it takes Ti inferior four times the effort to review the same information the person at the Ti hero desk is checking. Is this a suitable analogy? 🙃

They are very different. The only thing they have in common is the perception axis. I think ISTJ’s and INTP’s could work as coworkers together just fine since Ti is pondering + creating the systems and the ISTJ is adopting the systems or accepting them
Friendship could work as well but a bit hard to sustain. I’m an INTP and one of my best friends is an ISTJ. It works when we’re talking about computers, books, videos or other concrete intellectual topics but he isn’t interested in the theoretical concepts underpinning them however he appreciates my theories which is fine by me

Woah woah woah hold up, what about healthy ISFPs? I (ISFP) was with an INFJ for 2 1/2 years and was extremely loyal, and communicated constantly informing him that I was still deciding if he was 'the one', and that he could walk away at any point if he got tired of waiting. Eventually when I decided he wasn't, the relationship came to an end, and he didn't feel his time was wasted at all because I was always totally honest with him. So yes Ni child can be a pain in the butt, but I also know a couple of ISFPs who, when have found the one, are rediculously loyal and have said they have absolutely no desire to be with anyone else.

I see a key difference between the meanings of "charitable" and "generous" being one not only of quantity but of need (by the recipient). "Charity" is often considered giving to the homeless, the hungry, those below the poverty level or other such groups who are in great need of assistance. Generosity is giving more than is needed or expected. A CEO could give his VP a generous Christmas bonus (that would not be considered charitable because the VP already makes a handsome salary and doesn't "need" it), but that same CEO could give a charitable donation to an organization that provides housing for homeless veterans and it would be considered charitable because the beneficiaries are in their hour of need. But it could also be generous if it were a large donation, no? I think charity can be generous, but generosity is not always charitable, because it depends on who is receiving the help. Does your distinction factor this aspect in as well?
I just now realized many of my problems in personal relationships stem from being control and responding. I create a process unique to every situation and get frustrated when others try to impose old processes on new/unique situations (which seems shortsighted and careless in my mind). Yes it's slow, but it's thorough and attentive to detail and confounding variables. I say "there's no milk" instead of "go get milk" because I don't want to disrespect another person's freedom of choice to do what they want by telling them what to do. (And I also want to know they're doing things for me of their own volition and not under duress, because otherwise you have a whipping boy and not a man of action or initiative, right?). But then I get criticized for not being direct enough. 🤦 If someone wants me to be more direct, does that mean they're most likely direct or responding? I can see direct people wanting others to be direct because it's the way of communicating they best understand, but I could also see direct people wanting others to be responding, because otherwise there could be a power-struggle. Both seem plausible, hence why I ask.
At first I wasn't going to watch this whole video, but then I realized the differences between the cognitive functions of the ISTP vs ISFP are exactly the same as INTP vs INFP (same perceiving axis mid-stack and Ti hero Fe inferior vs Fi hero Te inferior). I still go through what I've noticed to be cycles where I question my type. I usually finish a cycle by concluding I'm most likely INTP again, yet that skepticism always creeps in again later. Could you do an INTP vs INFP video in the future if it isn't already on your list?
On a random note, closed captioning thinks you're always talking about "golden pears" 🍐😂

Wow. So right I have an Isfp exhusband and an Istp current husband, and o my word everything about this is so true. But just to add one thing... I am an Enfp and although I honestly had horrible intentions in the beginning of both relationships, I became madly in love with both. I am, to use your words, insanely loyal. So much so the break up with the Isfp ex changed me. I lost my cheerfulness. Other ppl convinced him I was not loyal even though I was. I remained loyal for a year into our separation. I struggle now with my Istp husband because although I am completely loyal to him, I pretend like I am indifferent because I don't want him to feel like he owns me. Well really, I don't want to feel like he owns me. I wish they understood that because I could easily manipulate them is y I don't and y I wouldn't. I hate it that my current Istp husband asks me everything, because I am afraid of putting ideas into his head. I like him. I want to hear what he thinks not a parrot of what I said. Anyways, I love ur vids and have watched sooooo many of them even though u seem to think my type is the snake in the grass ready to pounce but that is far from true. I spend most of my time being hurt by others and being taken advantage of, then I do the same to someone else but then become obsessed with them, make them awesome and then they leave me because the beginning was bad and discount all the amazing since.

Heather Bryant In my experience as an Infj, I’ve been criticized for speaking too quietly, acting “stuck up” or too serious, being too nice, spending too much time getting ready, and procrastinating. I’m guessing any one, or more, of these things. However, I can’t speak for an Intj, either.

    • @heatherbryant4197
      @heatherbryant4197 5 років тому +1

@@Leneah99 lol I've been criticized for every thing on that list as well and I'm an INTP. I think many of those fall under the category of "things women get criticized for" ... well, the taking too long getting ready, being too nice, and speaking too quietly, at least. I think Ni-doms are perceived as more serious, while Ti-doms are seen as arrogant or stuck-up. I see procrastinating as more of an IxxP thing, especially INxP, but I can see how inferior Se could cause those issues as well.
As for INFJs from an INTJ perspective, I think one of the biggest conflicts stems from the combination of Fe parent versus PoLR Fe. INFJs value social tact and responsibly fostering harmony, while INTJs like to be blunt and are often criticized for having bad Fe, perhaps even by INFJs. INTJs can struggle to get along with people and abide by social etiquette norms, while INFJs make it look easy and are good at getting people to like them. Fi child might also see Fe parent as fake or phony. And Te will be focused on efficient problem-solving, while Ti will be more slow, deliberative, and focused on semantics. So Te parent can get frustrated with Ti child for taking too long to come to a conclusion about what is true and not solving problems in the way they understand.
That's my take on it, but I'd still be interested to hear an INTJ perspective. I actually really like INFJs, but that's because they seem to model the qualities I wish I had (better Fe, being able to narrow down possibilities to reach a singular conclusion, getting more done in the physical environment, since I have aspirational Fe & PoLR Se), without sacrificing intelligence, as Ti child is rather competent and still optimistic, but less abrasive than Ti hero.

@@heatherbryant4197 You are awesome. I always enjoy your comments. I don't know if you noticed how a video about Istps and Isfps turned into a discussion between an Infj and an Intp, and our take on someone else's comment, but that seems fairly typical on this channel, maybe also UA-cam, but I don't spend much time elsewhere on here, other than music and fitness videos...Anyway, I digress. I could definitely see how we as women could typically get criticized for those things, thank you for pointing that out, I never thought of it that way. The being stuck up thing, I've attributed to Fe parent/Fi critic, and how people perceive it. It hits me in the heart, because I never think I am better or worse than any one else, coming from the view of being only one of a collective. I agree it can be seen as fake or phony, but I think we both know, it is sincere.
I have been in situations where I had to problem solve, while under a toe-tapping, finger-drumming stare of someone who is rolling their eyes and saying, "what's taking so long, do you know how long this will take?," while Ti child figured out a solution for them. All the while thinking, "it takes as long as it takes," but saying, "sorry for the delay, we are 3/4 there."
I look forward to a reply, if you have further thoughts on this. But I agree, it would be interesting to hear an Intj perspective on what annoys them about Infjs.
