Cambridge should understand that our grade boundary situation shouldnt be the same as 2019 candidates. Caie 2019 students spent their whole O level journey in uninterrupted schooling. Whereas 2023 batch had spend a year or two affected by corona and so had a weak base. For example in most countries, O levels is a 3 year programme. The students who appeared in their final year must have spent their first years in corona , affected like other people. Hence cambridge must understand that corona's end doesnt mean everything is back simple. If i gave my caie this year, i spent my last year in corona whereas a 2019 student didnt get to have that in his previous learning year 2018. We shouldnt be compared to 2019 students but be judged on the situation we had which did include interruption. Awarding low A's is unfair
@theghost8942 yes compared to 2020, 2021 and 2022 they will be higher. Cambridge is going back to their origional standard which was of 2019. They are in reality kinda strict
the november papers werent very the 2022 syllabus, i see there were questions formed according to 2023 syllabus also although we had to maintain our mental and physical health throughout covid! It's not an easy situation even if cambridge thinks the nov students got more time for revision, it was way more difficult to maintain the consistency! I hope the thresholds are low! We'll see how fair does cambridge play!

i am 2025 IGCSE batch, we aren't allowed to use calculator in Additional Mathematics P1, the total marks for Physics paper also increased with no increase in time, u guys are lucky enough
mmm isnt having a marking scheme with specific marking schemes a little antithetical to the idea of learning and creativity ? It also limits of the scopes of the answers. There can be a lot of right answers rather than just the ones on the marking scheme.
Well, that would depend on the subject. For subjects such as maths and sciences there are clear and correct answers, no arguing there. And for creative subjects like English the mark scheme is not very specific and instead can be applied universally. For example, to get top grades you need to be “perceptive” and “critical” in your essays.

For sciences key terms are key terms, there is no changing that, as long as those terms are mentioned which are usually underlined they are accepted with a plausible explanation too.

that did happen to a batch of singaporean students a couple of years ago. they were given a choice to either use their school exams for entry into tertiary education or resit for the exams. due to this mishap, our papers are now all scanned and sent digitally to the cambridge markers, to prevent anything getting lost in transit.
i have a question!! what happens when, for the mcq papers, you fully shade eg. letter A but there were a few pencil marks for letter B ? lets say letter A was right, b wont be marked right??
Piece of advice, start early and you'll do fine. By early I mean at grade 8, you should start getting more serious and focus more on what teachers say. Grade 8 starts off from the very basic, 9 it gets harder and 10 is more for revision and uncovered topics. The earlier you start, the better you'll do. If possible, practice subjects like maths accounting or physics using past paper.
Today in my chem p6 the experiment qsn i wrote something completely different and realised it was titration only after so had to cross it out however i did not have any page left so wrote on the blank page hope they mark it💔
