The Hummingbird Project North Wales

The Hummingbird Project North Wales is a community-focused, not-for-profit organization based in Abergele, established to support individuals and families facing financial challenges. Founded in 2021 by Pam Lake, the project initially operated from her home but has since grown to include a dedicated hub and additional storage facilities. It provides a wide range of essentials, including clothing, furniture, and "keep warm" packs, to those in need along the North Wales coast and nearby areas.
The organization operates on a referral-only basis, collaborating with schools, churches, local authorities, and other services to identify those requiring assistance. Through community donations and grants, the project has distributed thousands of items, such as 168 beds to families in need, and organizes seasonal initiatives like Christmas gift distributions and Easter egg donations. Volunteers play a crucial role, helping with collection, sorting, and delivery of items, as well as managing the hub and fundraising activities.
