Some people might wonder why am I making this mod for PS2 version... Well, it is almost an objective fact to me that it is the best version! It has a proper, beautiful lighting (I was experimenting with colors in some of these clips so it doesn't shows the lighting at its best), the art style the developers themselves had in mind, less bugs, better sounds, better combat feeling, more random events... The textures even if they have worse quality than SE / AE, they have a better artistic direction, and thanks to PCSX2 new updates, you can even use upscaled textures! And the best thing is that mobile players can play PS2 version through AetherSX2 and even use the upscaled textures too, lol. You might also notice the changed textures and models for jimmy, peds, and the environment. It's another project I have for restoring the most beta visuals possible. The combat remake mod will come first, though. So subscribe for not missing my future mods releases!
There should be some way to make the spit a once or twice more in a fight with any npc thing because if they keep spitting it looks a bit goofy. Edit: or make it a 15% chance.

It's great to see you here! I can't count how many hours of entertainment I had simply by listening to you talking about Bully's stuff. It's such an interesting and charming game, isn't it? Would love to see you doing a review of my mod in your channel when I release it.
Correct! That was because Sota Yuyama worked in Sleeping Dogs too. I think he made most Bully's animations in beta stage. There are other similarities between Bully and Sleeping Dogs, for example Shawn Lee was also part of the soundtrack. And the last one I know, more than a fun fact is a sad one... Sleeping Dogs also has a cancelled sequel.
@@d3acxn ohhh no wonder Sleeping Dogs always felt like a Bully inspired game (with Uncharted type of shootouts) and the fact that you give collectibles to someone to teach you new moves is obvious lol
I see a lot of Peekaboo-style boxing in this. Its actually really appropriate for Jimmy since this style is best used by shorter boxers with immense stamina against taller opponents.
Its cool that ths PS2 version of bully ls finally getting a proper combat mod, l love the sound effects and art style of this version of bully over the SE version

This is impressive work. A fan of your work reached out and showed me you got a mod working with similar mechanics. Didnt know you could mode like this, but I guess with great dedication and drive, you can decipher a lot of the games code and rework it. Im happy I had some inspiration for this but you should be proud to put this level of mod work into the game engine. no easy task.
Dennis! You made my day with this comment, thank you, really! Seeing the showcase videos of your old work in Bully for the first time felt like having a dream. We already knew that Bully had a deeper combat in the beta than what the final game had, because of some of Sota Yuyama portfolio animations, and also because in the game files there are leftovers of "heavy" and "lights" attack and such. But I think no one expected to see such a complex, detailed, dynamic combat system as the one you showcased. It would even be impressive to have in a 2024 game, you truly were ahead of your time... and I know, it was never officially part of the beta and just test work you were doing in your own machine. But it was still absolutely mind blowing to see it working in Bully. You are absolute awesome and extremely talented. I wish you luck and succeed in all your projects. Thank you again for your kind words!
Dear Dennis Opel, I hope this message finds you well. I am a passionate member of the Bully gaming community. I recently learned about your impressive work on the fighting mechanics in Bully, and I wanted to reach out to express my admiration for your contributions to the game. The fighting mechanics you developed are truly remarkable and have had a significant impact on the gameplay experience. They have not only enhanced the game's combat system but have also inspired many players and modders within the community. Your innovative approach has set a new standard for what is possible within the game. Given the enthusiasm and appreciation that the Bully community has for these mechanics, I would like to kindly request that you consider releasing them as a mod. Doing so would be an incredible favor to the community and would allow many players to experience and enjoy the enhancements you’ve created. Your work could serve as a valuable resource and inspiration for both current and future modders, helping to further enrich the Bully experience for everyone. Releasing your fighting mechanics as a mod would undoubtedly be met with great excitement and gratitude from the community. It would provide an opportunity for players to explore and appreciate the depth and quality of your work, while also allowing modders to build upon and expand the ideas you’ve set in motion. Thank you for considering this request. Your contributions to Bully have already made a lasting impact, and sharing your fighting mechanics as a mod would further cement your legacy within the community. If you have any questions or need any assistance with the modding process, please feel free to reach out. I, along with many others, would be more than happy to support you in any way we can. Thank you once again for your time and for the incredible work you’ve done.

@@d3acxnHi there, my dear modder, I share your opinion about the Wii version of Bully. In fact, it would be better because with the Wii's motion controls, the experience would be incredibly better.
