@@jackhansmiles haha. Quite simple actually, just clear pre med exams, and set up a good preference list to choose from dental schools all over the County. But there are soo many variables that go into the admission process.☺️
The prices are really getting ridiculous I just read an article that says NYU is going to cost over $673,000. Check it out! www.studentloanplanner.com/nyu-dental-school-tuition-out-control/
Hey Rina, here is a list! www.perio.org/sites/default/files/files/PDFs/Postdoc%20Education/ADEA%20Grading%20Resource%20Guide.pdf Also it should include UNE as well as OHSU!
jack han thank you! It seems like there are only 8 schools listed here, so for the other dental schools I guess it’s best if I call the school to find out? I found it quite difficult to online-search for their grading system.
Hey Jack, thanks for the great video! I just have a quick question, is it ok to spend 3-5 years to get my bachelors degree before I apply to my dental school??! And the reason why I want to do that is bec there are so many pre reqs for my major and for my dental school that I need to take!😭😭😭
the literal goat for pre-dental students 🤩 thank you so much for putting the main factors into choosing what schools to apply into one video 💪 can’t wait to see more content!
Stupid question. Do you think it will count against a person if their teeth are straight but yellowish in an interview? I’m I being judged by my teeth?
@@jackhansmiles like how many crowns/dentures/procedures/etc. students will have to do in order to graduate. I guess I am looking for a more concrete way of assessing how much clinical exposure I will be getting. Any tips on that?
It’s actually insane how you spent $6k on just application fees (but makes sense since you applied to 30 different schools). Overall all the points you described were very comprehensive and helpful. Great video Jack, I cannot wait for the next :)
It is insane but also you have to put it into perspective. What if the $3000 extra a used to apply to 15 schools allowed me to go to a school where the cost of attendance is $100,000 lower than another one? Thank you for the comment Veronica! :)
Hi Gavin! The specialization rate can be difficult to find. Your best bet is calling the school to ask, google, SDN, and/or word of mouth. The Ivy leagues give out more specific specialization rates and seem to be easier to get!
Hi Lewis, to be honest I do not know too much about scholarships but if I had to guess I would say yes. From what I know 10-20% of the incoming class gets some type of scholarship, there is not that many!
jack han Thank you for the response! I am applying for the HPSP as well, but the debt levels are so concerning that I want to find as many opportunities as possible to keep it low.
COMMENT WALL OF FAME! and bio too?! I can die happy and quit youtube now.
CONGRATULATIONS HAHA
The ADEA Guide to Dental Schools is the best! Your video is super detailed - v helpful!
Thank you Laura! It is, read it to myself as my bedtime story every night :)
dope quality and great presentation. heard about you from steven lu (umich). looking forward to more content on your dental journey jack
Oh hi! Wow fan girling a little over here! I love your videos man going to send you a DM! :)
All great advice! Always a great idea to call the school and get a better idea of the types of stats you really need!
Totally agree! Not enough people do so! :)
@@jackhansmiles So the website wouldn't be updated? What about email because when I called they wouldn't answer lol?
Wow so many good tips to follow!! Keep it up brotha !
Thank Joey, right back at cha! :)
I love how detailed this video is :).
Thanks for noticing Lily! I try my best :)
I'm so glad admission procedures are much easier and quick in india. Haha. But you explain the whole scenario so well jack. Nice work bro!🤜🏼🤛🏼
Hey Akash what is the procedure like in India? Thank you so much bro much love :)

Hi Joseph I'm glad I could help you! :)
Woohooo keep it up Jack!!! So helpful 🙌🏻
Thank you Lizzie I will! :)

Is there a easier way of knowing whether schools are grade or P/F based? Thanks for the tips! They are compiled nicely and well explained.

A very informative and interesting video!! 😃

Woah that's a big title! Thank you so much Frances im glad you enjoyed the video and more to come!
i had so much trouble getting accepted into dental school especially since i never applied
Yeah most people who don't apply unfortunately dont get in! Have to get that application in!
@@jackhansmiles loving the humor in this section
During the interviews, do they want you to bring your art work? Proof of hand dexterity?
Stupid question. Do you think it will count against a person if their teeth are straight but yellowish in an interview? I’m I being judged by my teeth?
Can you recommend which schools are best training you as a competent general dentist not as a specialist ?
😂😂 Dental School applications are the biggest finesse. But congrats on your acceptance man definitely worth the money.
I agree there is some finessing that is required haha. Thank you, I think so too!
Thank you for these videos! What is the best way for us to research clinical requirements for each school?

Do you think that there are any schools that would offer a scholarship to a student with a 23 DAT and a 3.7 GPA?
