I had purchased the Dell 7000 7567, back in 2018 and battery was very solid on it, it literally never ran out of it - and I loved that! Right now I am looking to replace it with either a G series model or and Alienware - not sure about Alienware though the battery seems to be pretty week - I have to take my laptop to college everyday so I think battery is pretty important
I have the Dell G15, Ryzen 7 5800H + RTX 3060, this laptop absolutely demolishes mine when it comes to performance but I can get about 10.5 hours of battery from 100% on that laptop. I usually charge mine to 80% to conserve the battery life span and I never have to worry about charging it at school. I guess battery is what u must give up for great performance. I like my laptop and it comfortably plays any games I throw at it.
oh wow, seems like your laptop has great battery life. I had purchased the Dell 7000 7567, back in 2018 and battery was very solid on it, it literally never ran out of it - and I loved that! Thank you for the review, was considering this laptop for an upgrade (but was eying 12th gen or Ryzen variants) Soldered RAM limited to 32GB... just WHY?!1 11900H supports up to 128GB, which would be very nice to have for CAD and my data science tasks. Bet it would be great for any media creators as well. Also, 3070 or 3080 doesn't make sense here, it will be crippled by the overall system. Would be great to see some real game tests with >30 minutes continuous session on a flat table. Looks like >60C exhaust temp won't make it possible to use on laps anyway. Also, based on the results you provided, even 165Hz display makes not a lot of sense here, since real average FPS even in AA-titles at native resolution lays way below 100Hz.
Having played with the X15 R1 I am now also very excited to see the R2 with the new 12th Gen or new Ryzens =) Been told they made change of USB-C to thunderbolt now but I am more excited to see the performance of these new processors. I agree I would have love to see the Max RAM being 64GB then 32GB as I would have thought more gamers moving to 64GB for top end for multitasking, of course this would benefit the professional work having more RAM capacity especially for CAD. I thought the 3080 was going to be throttled badly being so slim the laptop that the thermals wouldn't cope and especially having an i9 in the works as that is hot enough from my experience but I was very impress Dell made big leaps on the thermal solution to let both the i9 do very well plus having a BBQ 3080 added to the equation this would normally cripple both components performance to baby mode in other laptops. I would love to see more VRAM on the 3080 model in the R2 though.
Yes it is and it gives me good hopes to see R2. I'm a bit slow on this one as I'm not really a gaming focus channel so I didn't put my hands on this one early. There might be good specials though for this R1 if R2 is around the corner.
Love your review! I was contemplating on whether to pick up the R1 for 3400 CAD (tax included) Or 4150 CAD for the R2 (both similar specs except for the 12th gen intel and 3070ti as opposed to the 3070). Is it worth to pay the 750 extra to get the R2 if I will only be mainly using it to game?
@ChimkenBorger, I couldn't tell you right now as I haven't experience any of the 12th Gen Intel Cores yet. They still haven't arrived to Australian shores =(. Though saying $750 is quite a saving and you can get a good decent sized monitor for $750 which might end up being more beneficial for gaming then a few extra FPS.

Great machine. But now 12 gen machines are around the corner.

@@BsianTech i am really hoping to see the next gen precision lineup. The alderlake is such a leapforward.
I bought this why my trackpad doesn’t has light?
Where is the ram memory? I can't find it on this computer model. Could you make a video?
It's under the keyboard the memory, not a nice place to make it easy accessible from Dell.

Would u recommend this laptop compared to like legion 7 or maybe ge66 raider?
