I appreciate your brilliant efforts!...The end story here, does not hold water. Tappy Wright did confess, on his death bed, that his version of Jimi's death was made up, to sell books. That is very believable...and Michael Jeffery, though definitely a money-hungry manager, was never some sort of spy, while in the military...his rank was low, when he got out of the service. He liked to embellish his time in the service...but that is all it was. Jimi's roadie ID'd Jeffery's body, as you said, by his jewelry. His plane had been involved with another plane, that crashed into it. There was a strike going on, in France, involving the air traffic controllers. Ironically, Jeffery had mentioned to many people, that he was afraid of flying. Shit happens!

Tony Brown's book "The Final Days of Jimi Hendrix" took a close look at those final weeks, based on multiple new interviews and a careful scrutiny of the sources - and from his account it's clear that Jimi was under a great deal of pressure at the time, not just from Michael Jeffery but from various lawsuits (Ed Chalpn, who had "signed" him in 1965 and then effectively done nothing about him until Jimi emerged as a big star with the help of Chas Chandler, was still around despite Jimi trying to buy him out by giving him the Band of Gypsies album), the pressure to keep on touring and over completion of his New York studio complex and of his eagerly anticipated "First Rays" album. Clearly he felt he was surrounded by people who didn't want him to change and grow as an artist, they just wanted the circus act. His connection with Monika Dannemann in London didn't help matters, she seems to have been rather possessive about him and immature. From Brown's account, it looks like Jimi may have made a suicide attempt with those strong sleeping pills (but didn't realize how strong they were), the kind you make as a cry for help - and then Dannemann, angry, jealous and put off, comes across Jimi passed out and makes the disastrous decision to pour red wine into his mouth, which effectively waterboarded him and triggered a choke-up reflex that blocked his windpipe and part of his lungs. As John Mayall put it in a song not long after, "Accidental Suicide". Brown doesn't say it out quite openly in his book that Dannemann put the nail in Jimi's coffin, probably because she had a habit of suing anyone who questioned her various stories about Jimi and what had happened that fateful night, but he demolishes her credibility and shows that she was constantly shifting her story (Sharon Lawrence, friend and music journalist, claims to have confronted Dannemann directly with the allegation that she had waterboarded Jimi with red wine though). The likely thing is that she panicked when she woke up and found Jimi passed out/dead beside her. She seems to have fled the flat soon after, after making a phone call or two to Eric Burdon, and it remains unclear who actually called the alarm and got the ambulance guys there, When they arrived (Brown was the first one to actually track them down and interview them), their immediate impression was that Jimi was already dead and had been so for some time. The notion that he died in the ambulance from being strapped sitting upright is just Monika's attempt to throw the blame at somebody else. To me Brown's account looked very convincing: it's less sensational than the allegation of outright cold-blooded murder and cover-up but sadly credible.

@@ericcrawford3453 Yes, he was incredibly gifted and achieved so much in just four years as a recording and touring musician in his own name. The loss represented by what he might have done had he survived beyond 1970 is simply staggering.
This is an important video. I was fortunate enough to see Jimi, Billy, and Mitch perform live twice in 1970, May. As much as I love the recordings, to hear Jimi live was a really wonderful experience.

Sharon Lawrence makes an interesting observation about Monika. In her book, 'Jimi Hendrix: The Man, The Magic, The Truth' (2005) She states, "Her demeanour puzzled me, no tears, no sense of grief...now she seemed almost upbeat...We drank wine, not a lot...finally I went to bed...she didn't mention that Jimi had gone out later. Since Jimi no longer drank red wine, I decided to follow up on this. Her mind seemed totally focused on her self, on her anticipated career as an artist...she was becoming excited - as if she was thinking, Bye - bye Jimi - hello Monika. Underneath that mask of makeup she was scary". Personally, I believe Dannemann demonstrated all the signs of someone with a sociopathic, narcissistic personality disorder. This is why she was in possession of the medication Vesparax.
The one-episode I've been dreading throughout this great series, we were robbed of Jimi's talents & it's more than apparent this was coming from all the total BS Jimi had to deal with. All we have left are what he gave us music wise & all the stories before the shit began to hit the fan & some fantastic photos of the good years he had before the end of a musical genius & one individual we will never see the likes of again, well not in this world anyway. 🎸🔥🎶

This has been a fantastic series - pretty much day by day, sometimes hour by hour detail of Jimi's life from the time he arrived in London in September 1966 until the time he died there almost exactly 4 years later. Many congratulations to all concerned. It occurs to me that the demographic who actually saw him during this time (like me) will be diminishing slowly but it always amazes me how relevant he still is to the generations that have followed who only know him through film and recordings. Saw his first appearance on British TV, 'Ready, Steady, Go !' in December 1966 and his last open concert in the UK at the Isle of Wight, 18 days before his death and followed his career devotedly during this period, even unto the present. He was a flawed genius whose like we'll never see again.

Great series, loved the detail of Jimis life (and death in this final episode). I think Kathy Etchingham knows alot more about what happened to Jimi than most, She summoned Monica Dammen to court in 1996 to testify her account of what she witnessed but Monica took her own life it seems before this happened. It was Kathy's assertion that Monica was lying about her final hours she allegedly spent with Jimi.
The account of the circumstances, now far more exhaustive than in September 1970, remains as unsatisfying as at the first hearing of the day. Possibly because his very unsatisfied disembodied spirit was loosed upon us with no credible reason, leaving us wallowing in our beliefs, to taste his state of mind and wander with him.
I have one more thing to say. I refuse to believe that Jimi was murdered. I think he was a shy and sensitive man that had a gift that he couldn't wait to share with the world. However, in the process of sharing it things got out of control and it accidentally consumed him. He was literally the most popular man on the planet. That's a hell of a lot to real in. It's like he went bass fishing and accidentally caught a whale. It was just too much. Add a steady diet of uppers, downers, alcohol and other substances and you have your answer. @@johnnyman9513 Just look at his physical state toward the end. All he wanted to do was sleep. Check out the Isle of Wight show. You can feel his fatigue through the camera. Too much drugs, women and touring did him in. I realize that there were strange circumstances. I looked into it. However, not strange enough to establish that he was beyond tired and wasn't feeling the magic anymore. He literally got played to death. But, I get it. I explore the alternative versions all the time. Look at Jim Morison. His dad was a navy admiral who in charge of the fleet at the Gulf of Tonkin that was decommissioned the day Jim died. It was a closed casket. Nobody was reported to actually see the body, etc. I get it. But, there's another example of someone who couldn't real it in. His physical state had become unsustainable toward the end. Too much booze, drugs and women. Same with Kurt Cobain. However, there are all kinds of holes in that one. Yet, none of them take away from the fact that he was a junkie. If he was murdered, it was probably after he had already given himself a hot shot. Then his junkie friends came in and did things to the corpse. This is the latest theory, btw. I guess, since these aren't ordinary people, they can't die ordinary deaths. I'm sure that for the thousands of people who die every day, you could start examining every one of them and come up with a percentage that seem rather odd. However, if an ordinary person was reported to have been drugged out, boozed out and over worked, would there death need to have many explanations? Not usually. Most people would be satisfied with the information at hand and move on.

Such a sad ending. Its so ridiculous that the british authorities barely investigated it. It was like "Okay, another drug addled rockstar died, so what..." Something is so off about the official version. My theory, which of course means nothing 🤔 is that either Danneman " fatal attractioned" him, spiking Jimi with the Vesperex, or she set him up to let Jeffery rub him out. Either way they're all gone now so I doubt we'll ever find out. What a fantastic video series, great job.😋

Though Jimi slyly mentions Devon in Dolly dagger and she is more like him as in, "From the streets, I always felt like she was bad news. She had a charm and spell on him. Melody Maker writer Chriss Welch had one of the first biographies out on Jimi. I know a lot of people hate her but I read Monica's Bio too and I think Chris' and hers tell the tale of Jimi's last hours the best. They were all young. The Douglas'-Devon, late night partying, a black beauty? All no good. And Jimi had that F-ing Ed Chalpin court case on the 18th. They shold have said, "Go with her. Get some rest." He was at unrest and escaping when he should've been resting and preparing to put that behind him or come to grips with it. I wonder why Mike Nesmith, the quiet Monkee, never spoke of that night? still...WTF about the wine in his lungs? Why was the gas fire on? Sounds cryptic. First I've heard of it. Jeffries...such a thorn in Jimi's side. After Jimi's death he was made out to be a morose figure. Mitch Mitchel said, "Rubbish. Jimi was a fun loving guy." Eddie Kramer backed that up." `Jimii was burned up by the road and wanted to get married and settle down. But his friends, Hah-just wanted to party with the famous maestro. He obviously had fears or premonitions about his death. While it is so tragic, the irony is that outside of Cry of Love and a few other songs released posthumously, not much would have been released because Jimi would've said , No. Not good enough." Uli Jon Roth Monica's guy for quite a few years and unbelievable guitarist who took some things further than Jimi did a Spirit of Hendrix Concert with many greats and is the BEST dedication to Jimi I've experienced. Well actually according to sources, jimi as a child often would mimic playing a guitar by using a broom or some other object. His elementary school teacher noticed this told his father to feed his interest by getting him a real guitar. That didn’t happen very soon. One day while jimi and his dad were cleaning out a woman’s garage (and still guitar-less) he saw an old acoustic guitar with only two strings on it. He asked the lady if he could have it. She said sure. And of course the rest is history

Sad. What I find interesting about Jimi's behavior presented in this way is how he reconnected with some people: Chas and Linda Keith in particular. I'm not surprised Noel did not get back to him, though that's sad. Also, I wonder what his last contact with Kathy Etchingham was like. She seemed to be someone good for Jimi in a lot of ways that he wasn't ready for.
Also, here is a video of a woman that was at the party Jimi attended immediately before returning to Danneman 's hotel. She mentions that Dannemann was acting really odd and wasn't communicative during the entirr party. Also, he was supposed to jam woth Sly Stone, Mitch, Clapton and Ginger Baker at the Lyceum that night. Thank you, Belly Button Window, for this sad yet unavoidable episode. As some of my comments on the previous video didn't get through, I shall try to keep things brief here. I urge anyone with any interest in Jimi to visit the "Jimi Hendrix Record Guide" and to call up the sections entitled "The Death of Jimi Hendrix" and "Michael Jeffrey". These remain the most meticulously researched pieces on Jimi's passing that I have read. A few short points arising from that research, as the author himself says, include the following: "Tappy Wright admitted that he made up a [...] story to help sell his [...] book. Bannister made it all up and described a body that wasn’t that of Jimi Hendrix. Mike Jeffery was never in MI5". Even the brief claims taken from the "new [2020] sources" presented in this episode contain glaring errors. Jimi had not known Monika "for days". Warner Brothers would have been the beneficiaries of any insurance policy, not Michael Jeffrey. The idea that Jimi wanted to move in a (purely) jazz-influenced direction does not hold up to scrutiny, given the material under consideration for his next album, nor his comments regarding his wish to indulge in classically-inspired projects working with an orchestra. Additionally, casting Monika's demise as anything other than the taking of her own life immediately following her losing a court cast to Kathy Etchingham is really pushing things. Finally, on a small aside, this episode contains some basic spelling mistakes. "Ambulance" should not be spelt as "ambulence", and the address of the Samarkand Hotel (which still exists today) is "Landsdowne Crescent" not "Landsdown Crescent".
Taking 9 sleeping tablets is no accident. Those that claim Jimi was killed, never can resolve the loose end Monika Dannemann. A hit man would never leave a witness around

No mention here that allegedly she called eric burden freaking out that jimi was unresponsive and she didn't know what to do. If she would've called the ambulance right away there might have been a chance.
True & Eric still insists this was the case & she was not wanting to call the police as there was Hash in the apartment, as we not there who really knows the truth, Eric Burdon had nothing to gain & he was a real friend to Jimi so for me i tend to believe him. In the end all she had to do was turn him over & try to make him puke up what was left but i fear it was already too late.
No, sadly, Jimi was dead no later than 5am on the 18th. The ambulance wasn't called till 11.18am. He'd been dead for over seven hours before Doctors got to see him. Cause of death? Drowning of the airways.
Nobody at Monica's flat when the ambulance people arrive, then they show up at the hospital. Jimi hadn't spoken to Eric Burdon for a long time and Monica didn't know him,so why would she call him first,when she became worried? Eric Burdon claimed that he arrived there and found the letter or poem. .lots of missing pieces.

Personally, I think Dannemann got jealous and sp1ked him. Lungs and stomach filled with wine, many of her sleeping tablets inside of him, hardly any alcohol in his system...I believe it was her work
Always a possibility that jealousy got Hendrix killed, and it was the SANDWICH most likely containing massive amounts of barbiturates, but the story of Danneman only starts shortly before his death. Jeffrey was a mystery character with BAD INTENT from the day Jimi met him says Brian Auger who actually knew him way before Hendrix ever came to London. If there was motive from jealousy or money, then there was most probable a crime committed.
So the idea that Jeffries was connected with the CIA, and that Hendrix was on Nixon's list is not true? I thought Hendrix was in trouble because of his donations to the Black Panthers, not to mention his anti-Vietnam War sentiment upset the paranoid Nixon and so had him surveilled through Jeffries. I hared this theory on a CD that came out in the early 2000's which detailed recently unclassified documents pertaining to Hendrix's death.

Ancient alien theorists suggest that space aliens removed Jimi's soul from his body to take it back to their home planet and recreate him there so he could teach their comrades how to play cosmic blues. Jimi will return to earth someday when his work on the other planet is complete.
Jimi was brought in unresponsive by the ambulance crew to A&E. Even though, Reg Jones and John Saua felt Jimi was already dead, it was not their job to diagnose. That was the Doctors job. Ambulance attendance did not have the authority to declare, 'life extinct'. They didn't know what he'd taken, so it was their job to swoop and scoop the casualty to hospital where they could be assessed by qualified Registrars. Dr Seifert is on record saying, "we would have done the same thing for anyone coming in in that condition".
You are a nurse...you are not a Doctor. Furthermore this all happened back in 1970 which was pre-EMT or paramedic days. The ambulance attendant back in 1970 had only four weeks training. Their job was to get the casualty to hospital so a qualified Registrar could assess them. If this had happened today, Jimi would have been taken straight to the Coroner's Court.

the death narrative in this video is so illogical & opinionated. while i have no concrete views on it, the fact the hotel room was empty and the fact they don't know who phoned the ambulance is enough to make the death suspicious. As for the Australian medical examiner, he is a famous politician. Then this video provides a different narrative. Is this video computer generated?
I had a book in the 90's, where I read the first responders were saying there was red wine all over Jimi. The autopsy report stated there was very little alcohol in his system. The murder version hadn't came out at that time,but I thought something wasn't right about his death. Later in the early 2000's on late night radio show Coast to Coast, Jimi's roadie was the guest that night. The roadie said he was in a bar with Mike Jeffery shortly after Jimi's death and Jeffery turned to the roadie and said "I had to do it". That was all Jeffrey supposedly said and didn't elaborate. The message the roadie took from that remark was that Jeffery was responsible for Jimi's death. When the roadie was asked why didn't come out with all this sooner,his response was that he came out with this after everybody connected was dead. Truth or fiction?nobody knows for sure. I believe Jimi was murdered.
@@curbozerboomer1773 There are two main points in my mind at least that don't reconcile. 1. Why was there so much wine everywhere, in his lungs to the top of his head and very little in his system. Most accounts on Jimi were clear, he didn't drink like that. 2. If Jimi was murdered, why we're there no reports of a struggle? I did not hear of any reports of cuts or bruises from a fight for his life, which he clearly would have done intoxicated or not. I do believe that Jimi was killed but it is hard for me to know exactly how. I do not believe that Jimi would go that far to take so many pills and drink so much wine to drown in it just to go to sleep. Jimi was well know for his substance use but he was not a stupid or foolish man to take a lethal dose of any substance to stop his mission. Also, all of the dead bodies showing up after his death, come on. Pros were involved on the highest level that didn't leave messes or traces, because a lot of people were not happy with the success, influence and wealth that Jimi was generating. Because Jimi was coming to the end of his contract and Mike Jeffery was getting sloppy with the money and the books. Just my two cents.

Well I have to say this .. this series has been great except for this last episode ... To perpetuate the myth of Mike Jeffrey murdering Hendrix esp with lots of omissions & twisted facts is irresponsible & in my mind ridiculous ... yes Jeffrey was funny with the money & he owed out lots to Warner/Reprise & the Mafia .. And Jimi was considering leaving Jeffrey,. But in his last meeting right before he died with Chas Chandler, Chandler says he would come back only without Jeffrey, & Hendrix would not do that ( at least right then).. ..Plus Hendrix could have made a couple million with a small tour.................And the episode never takes into account all the expenses year after year & each month. Plus the million dollar investment in Electric Ladyland. I could write alot about this. But there are plenty of questionable things presented, & some that are just plain wrong...

It said he had taken 9 times the recommended amount of the sleeping tablet Vesparax. A very powerful sleeping pill where only a half is needed. This is about the only true thing Monica Dannemann stated. She said she also found some tabs on the ground near the bed. I think Hendrix took maybe a few, & then woke up a took some more. The paramedics who first got there said there was vomit every where on the bed & Hendrix was dead Hendrix was is a very fragile state at this time. He was thinking of leaving his mgr. He had no one to depend on or he could trust. Billy Cox had to go back home because of the condition he was in. So Jimi didn't know what would happen to the band, & his best friend was gone for now. They had to cancel the rest of the tour. ... He also had been taking quite a few drugs for at least a couple years. Including lots of cocaine & bouts with heroin. I believe he wanted to stop or at least slow down. This is when your body is very vulnerable. He also had some seconal in his system the morning he died.. You can see in the last photos he is looking rather worn out & weak. Hendrix had proposed to at least 2 woman in that week, plus expressed sorrow about Kathy Etchingham's engagement. So he was feeling a bit lost .. Fayne Pridgen has stated that when they lived together in NYC she had to wake Jimi up a few times because when he slept on his back he would choke & gasp for breath. A condition some people have. ......................... I knew I would write alot about this .. And I could go on .. about other mistakes here.. the Band Of Gypsys for one ..Of course no one knows for sure .. I just think Jeffrey & Hendrix had to much business together. The devil you know kind of thing ..

Bob Levine's denial of Tappy's account of Jimi's death was just a poor attempt to distance himself from what actually happened. He was afraid that he may also get a visit. Look what happened to Devon Wilson in 1971 at the Chelsea Hotel. Found beaten to death with a needle in her arm.

I appreciate your brilliant efforts!...The end story here, does not hold water. Tappy Wright did confess, on his death bed, that his version of Jimi's death was made up, to sell books. That is very believable...and Michael Jeffery, though definitely a money-hungry manager, was never some sort of spy, while in the military...his rank was low, when he got out of the service. He liked to embellish his time in the service...but that is all it was. Jimi's roadie ID'd Jeffery's body, as you said, by his jewelry. His plane had been involved with another plane, that crashed into it. There was a strike going on, in France, involving the air traffic controllers. Ironically, Jeffery had mentioned to many people, that he was afraid of flying. Shit happens!

Tony Brown's book "The Final Days of Jimi Hendrix" took a close look at those final weeks, based on multiple new interviews and a careful scrutiny of the sources - and from his account it's clear that Jimi was under a great deal of pressure at the time, not just from Michael Jeffery but from various lawsuits (Ed Chalpn, who had "signed" him in 1965 and then effectively done nothing about him until Jimi emerged as a big star with the help of Chas Chandler, was still around despite Jimi trying to buy him out by giving him the Band of Gypsies album), the pressure to keep on touring and over completion of his New York studio complex and of his eagerly anticipated "First Rays" album. Clearly he felt he was surrounded by people who didn't want him to change and grow as an artist, they just wanted the circus act. His connection with Monika Dannemann in London didn't help matters, she seems to have been rather possessive about him and immature. From Brown's account, it looks like Jimi may have made a suicide attempt with those strong sleeping pills (but didn't realize how strong they were), the kind you make as a cry for help - and then Dannemann, angry, jealous and put off, comes across Jimi passed out and makes the disastrous decision to pour red wine into his mouth, which effectively waterboarded him and triggered a choke-up reflex that blocked his windpipe and part of his lungs. As John Mayall put it in a song not long after, "Accidental Suicide".
Brown doesn't say it out quite openly in his book that Dannemann put the nail in Jimi's coffin, probably because she had a habit of suing anyone who questioned her various stories about Jimi and what had happened that fateful night, but he demolishes her credibility and shows that she was constantly shifting her story (Sharon Lawrence, friend and music journalist, claims to have confronted Dannemann directly with the allegation that she had waterboarded Jimi with red wine though). The likely thing is that she panicked when she woke up and found Jimi passed out/dead beside her. She seems to have fled the flat soon after, after making a phone call or two to Eric Burdon, and it remains unclear who actually called the alarm and got the ambulance guys there, When they arrived (Brown was the first one to actually track them down and interview them), their immediate impression was that Jimi was already dead and had been so for some time. The notion that he died in the ambulance from being strapped sitting upright is just Monika's attempt to throw the blame at somebody else.
To me Brown's account looked very convincing: it's less sensational than the allegation of outright cold-blooded murder and cover-up but sadly credible.

This is an important video. I was fortunate enough to see Jimi, Billy, and Mitch perform live twice in 1970, May. As much as I love the recordings, to hear Jimi live was a really wonderful experience.

Sharon Lawrence makes an interesting observation about Monika. In her book, 'Jimi Hendrix: The Man, The Magic, The Truth' (2005) She states, "Her demeanour puzzled me, no tears, no sense of grief...now she seemed almost upbeat...We drank wine, not a lot...finally I went to bed...she didn't mention that Jimi had gone out later. Since Jimi no longer drank red wine, I decided to follow up on this. Her mind seemed totally focused on her self, on her anticipated career as an artist...she was becoming excited - as if she was thinking, Bye - bye Jimi - hello Monika. Underneath that mask of makeup she was scary". Personally, I believe Dannemann demonstrated all the signs of someone with a sociopathic, narcissistic personality disorder. This is why she was in possession of the medication Vesparax.

This has been a fantastic series - pretty much day by day, sometimes hour by hour detail of Jimi's life from the time he arrived in London in September 1966 until the time he died there almost exactly 4 years later. Many congratulations to all concerned.
It occurs to me that the demographic who actually saw him during this time (like me) will be diminishing slowly but it always amazes me how relevant he still is to the generations that have followed who only know him through film and recordings.
Saw his first appearance on British TV, 'Ready, Steady, Go !' in December 1966 and his last open concert in the UK at the Isle of Wight, 18 days before his death and followed his career devotedly during this period, even unto the present. He was a flawed genius whose like we'll never see again.

I think Kathy Etchingham knows alot more about what happened to Jimi than most, She summoned Monica Dammen to court in 1996 to testify her account of what she witnessed but Monica took her own life it seems before this happened. It was Kathy's assertion that Monica was lying about her final hours she allegedly spent with Jimi.

The account of the circumstances, now far more exhaustive than in September 1970, remains as unsatisfying as at the first hearing of the day. Possibly because his very unsatisfied disembodied spirit was loosed upon us with no credible reason, leaving us wallowing in our beliefs, to taste his state of mind and wander with him.

I have one more thing to say. I refuse to believe that Jimi was murdered. I think he was a shy and sensitive man that had a gift that he couldn't wait to share with the world. However, in the process of sharing it things got out of control and it accidentally consumed him. He was literally the most popular man on the planet. That's a hell of a lot to real in. It's like he went bass fishing and accidentally caught a whale. It was just too much. Add a steady diet of uppers, downers, alcohol and other substances and you have your answer.

@@johnnyman9513 Just look at his physical state toward the end. All he wanted to do was sleep. Check out the Isle of Wight show. You can feel his fatigue through the camera.
Too much drugs, women and touring did him in. I realize that there were strange circumstances. I looked into it. However, not strange enough to establish that he was beyond tired and wasn't feeling the magic anymore. He literally got played to death.
But, I get it. I explore the alternative versions all the time. Look at Jim Morison. His dad was a navy admiral who in charge of the fleet at the Gulf of Tonkin that was decommissioned the day Jim died. It was a closed casket. Nobody was reported to actually see the body, etc. I get it. But, there's another example of someone who couldn't real it in. His physical state had become unsustainable toward the end. Too much booze, drugs and women.
Same with Kurt Cobain. However, there are all kinds of holes in that one. Yet, none of them take away from the fact that he was a junkie. If he was murdered, it was probably after he had already given himself a hot shot. Then his junkie friends came in and did things to the corpse. This is the latest theory, btw.
I guess, since these aren't ordinary people, they can't die ordinary deaths. I'm sure that for the thousands of people who die every day, you could start examining every one of them and come up with a percentage that seem rather odd. However, if an ordinary person was reported to have been drugged out, boozed out and over worked, would there death need to have many explanations? Not usually. Most people would be satisfied with the information at hand and move on.

Such a sad ending. Its so ridiculous that the british authorities barely investigated it. It was like "Okay, another drug addled rockstar died, so what..." Something is so off about the official version. My theory, which of course means nothing 🤔 is that either Danneman " fatal attractioned" him, spiking Jimi with the Vesperex, or she set him up to let Jeffery rub him out. Either way they're all gone now so I doubt we'll ever find out. What a fantastic video series, great job.😋

Though Jimi slyly mentions Devon in Dolly dagger and she is more like him as in, "From the streets, I always felt like she was bad news. She had a charm and spell on him. And she was into the Junk scene and died from it soon after. "Dirty sheets and needles." I think Douglas was more of a user than a friend. Melody Maker writer Chriss Welch had one of the first biographies out on Jimi. I know a lot of people hate her but I read Monica's Bio too and I think Chris' and hers tell the tale of Jimi's last hours the best. They were all young. The Douglas'-Devon, late night partying, a black beauty? All no good. And Jimi had that F-ing Ed Chalpin court case on the 18th. They shold have said, "Go with her. Get some rest." He was at unrest and escaping when he should've been resting and preparing to put that behind him or come to grips with it. I wonder why Mike Nesmith, the quiet Monkee, never spoke of that night? still...WTF about the wine in his lungs? Why was the gas fire on? Sounds cryptic. First I've heard of it. Jeffries...such a thorn in Jimi's side. After Jimi's death he was made out to be a morose figure. Mitch Mitchel said, "Rubbish. Jimi was a fun loving guy." Eddie Kramer backed that up." `Jimii was burned up by the road and wanted to get married and settle down. But his friends, Hah-just wanted to party with the famous maestro. He obviously had fears or premonitions about his death. While it is so tragic, the irony is that outside of Cry of Love and a few other songs released posthumously, not much would have been released because Jimi would've said , No. Not good enough." Uli Jon Roth Monica's guy for quite a few years and unbelievable guitarist who took some things further than Jimi did a Spirit of Hendrix Concert with many greats and is the BEST dedication to Jimi I've experienced. Well actually according to sources, jimi as a child often would mimic playing a guitar by using a broom or some other object. His elementary school teacher noticed this told his father to feed his interest by getting him a real guitar. That didn’t happen very soon. One day while jimi and his dad were cleaning out a woman’s garage (and still guitar-less) he saw an old acoustic guitar with only two strings on it. He asked the lady if he could have it. She said sure. And of course the rest is history

What I find interesting about Jimi's behavior presented in this way is how he reconnected with some people: Chas and Linda Keith in particular. He gives Linda a Strat to replace the one he borrowed 4 years prior, from Linda via Keith Richards? Wow. It's like he's trying to make amends or enact a "do over" with her and Chas. Also, here is a video of a woman that was at the party Jimi attended immediately before returning to Danneman 's hotel. She mentions that Dannemann was acting really odd and wasn't communicative during the entirr party.

Thank you, Belly Button Window, for this sad yet unavoidable episode. As some of my comments on the previous video didn't get through, I shall try to keep things brief here. I urge anyone with any interest in Jimi to visit the "Jimi Hendrix Record Guide" and to call up the sections entitled "The Death of Jimi Hendrix" and "Michael Jeffrey". These remain the most meticulously researched pieces on Jimi's passing that I have read. A few short points arising from that research, as the author himself says, include the following: "Tappy Wright admitted that he made up a [...] story to help sell his [...] book. Bannister made it all up and described a body that wasn’t that of Jimi Hendrix. Mike Jeffery was never in MI5". Even the brief claims taken from the "new [2020] sources" presented in this episode contain glaring errors. Jimi had not known Monika "for days". Warner Brothers would have been the beneficiaries of any insurance policy, not Michael Jeffrey. The idea that Jimi wanted to move in a (purely) jazz-influenced direction does not hold up to scrutiny, given the material under consideration for his next album, nor his comments regarding his wish to indulge in classically-inspired projects working with an orchestra. Additionally, casting Monika's demise as anything other than the taking of her own life immediately following her losing a court cast to Kathy Etchingham is really pushing things. Finally, on a small aside, this episode contains some basic spelling mistakes. "Ambulance" should not be spelt as "ambulence", and the address of the Samarkand Hotel (which still exists today) is "Landsdowne Crescent" not "Landsdown Crescent".

Always a possibility that jealousy got Hendrix killed, and it was the SANDWICH most likely containing massive amounts of barbiturates, but the story of Danneman only starts shortly before his death. Jeffrey was a mystery character with BAD INTENT from the day Jimi met him says Brian Auger who actually knew him way before Hendrix ever came to London. If there was motive from jealousy or money, then there was most probable a crime committed.

So the idea that Jeffries was connected with the CIA, and that Hendrix was on Nixon's list is not true? I thought Hendrix was in trouble because of his donations to the Black Panthers, not to mention his anti-Vietnam War sentiment upset the paranoid Nixon and so had him surveilled through Jeffries. I hared this theory on a CD that came out in the early 2000's which detailed recently unclassified documents pertaining to Hendrix's death.

Jimi was brought in unresponsive by the ambulance crew to A&E. Even though, Reg Jones and John Saua felt Jimi was already dead, it was not their job to diagnose. That was the Doctors job. Ambulance attendance did not have the authority to declare, 'life extinct'. They didn't know what he'd taken, so it was their job to swoop and scoop the casualty to hospital where they could be assessed by qualified Registrars. You are a nurse...you are not a Doctor. Furthermore this all happened back in 1970 which was pre-EMT or paramedic days. The ambulance attendant back in 1970 had only four weeks training. Their job was to get the casualty to hospital so a qualified Registrar could assess them. If this had happened today, Jimi would have been taken straight to the Coroner's Court.

Mike the murderer. I have been researching Jimi's transition since September 18, 1970, the day after my 16th birthday. Lungs full of wine, case over.
I had a book in the 90's, where I read the first responders were saying there was red wine all over Jimi. The autopsy report stated there was very little alcohol in his system. The murder version hadn't came out at that time,but I thought something wasn't right about his death. Later in the early 2000's on late night radio show Coast to Coast, Jimi's roadie was the guest that night. The roadie said he was in a bar with Mike Jeffery shortly after Jimi's death and Jeffery turned to the roadie and said "I had to do it". That was all Jeffrey supposedly said and didn't elaborate. The message the roadie took from that remark was that Jeffery was responsible for Jimi's death. When the roadie was asked why didn't come out with all this sooner,his response was that he came out with this after everybody connected was dead. Truth or fiction?nobody knows for sure. I believe Jimi was murdered.

@@curbozerboomer1773 There are two main points in my mind at least that don't reconcile. 1. Why was there so much wine everywhere, in his lungs to the top of his head and very little in his system. Most accounts on Jimi were clear, he didn't drink like that. 2. If Jimi was murdered, why we're there no reports of a struggle? I did not hear of any reports of cuts or bruises from a fight for his life, which he clearly would have done intoxicated or not. I do believe that Jimi was killed but it is hard for me to know exactly how. I do not believe that Jimi would go that far to take so many pills and drink so much wine to drown in it just to go to sleep. Jimi was well know for his substance use but he was not a stupid or foolish man to take a lethal dose of any substance to stop his mission. Also, all of the dead bodies showing up after his death, come on. Pros were involved on the highest level that didn't leave messes or traces, because a lot of people were not happy with the success, influence and wealth that Jimi was generating. Because Jimi was coming to the end of his contract and Mike Jeffery was getting sloppy with the money and the books. Just my two cents.

Well I have to say this .. this series has been great except for this last episode ... To perpetuate the myth of Mike Jeffrey murdering Hendrix esp with lots of omissions & twisted facts is irresponsible & in my mind ridiculous ... yes Jeffrey was funny with the money & he owed out lots to Warner/Reprise & the Mafia .. And Jimi was considering leaving Jeffrey,. But in his last meeting right before he died with Chas Chandler, Chandler says he would come back only without Jeffrey, & Hendrix would not do that ( at least right then).. ..Plus Hendrix could have made a couple million with a small tour.................And the episode never takes into account all the expenses year after year & each month. Plus the million dollar investment in Electric Ladyland. I could write alot about this. But there are plenty of questionable things presented, & some that are just plain wrong...

@@johnnyman9513 ** the original examination showed very little wine. He had thrown up most of the wine & food he had. It said he had taken 9 times the recommended amount of the sleeping tablet Vesparax. A very powerful sleeping pill where only a half is needed. This is about the only true thing Monica Dannemann stated.
She said she also found some tabs on the ground near the bed. I think Hendrix took maybe a few, & then woke up a took some more. The paramedics who first got there said there was vomit every where on the bed & Hendrix was dead
Hendrix was is a very fragile state at this time. He was thinking of leaving his mgr. He had no one to depend on or he could trust. Billy Cox had to go back home because of the condition he was in. So Jimi didn't know what would happen to the band, & his best friend was gone for now. They had to cancel the rest of the tour. ... He also had been taking quite a few drugs for at least a couple years. Including lots of cocaine & bouts with heroin. I believe he wanted to stop or at least slow down. This is when your body is very vulnerable. He also had some seconal in his system the morning he died.. You can see in the last photos he is looking rather worn out & weak.
Hendrix had proposed to at least 2 woman in that week, plus expressed sorrow about Kathy Etchingham's engagement. So he was feeling a bit lost ..
Fayne Pridgen has stated that when they lived together in NYC she had to wake Jimi up a few times because when he slept on his back he would choke & gasp for breath. A condition some people have. ......................... I knew I would write alot about this .. And I could go on .. about other mistakes here.. the Band Of Gypsys for one ..Of course no one knows for sure .. I just think Jeffrey & Hendrix had to much business together. The devil you know kind of thing ..

Bob Levine's denial of Tappy's account of Jimi's death was just a poor attempt to distance himself from what actually happened. He was afraid that he may also get a visit. Look what happened to Devon Wilson in 1971 at the Chelsea Hotel. Found beaten to death with a needle in her arm.
