Augie Doggie and Doogie Daddy are some of my favorite characters in this show !! That fact that they change the classic father and son dynamic to that of an Overprotective parent and Daughter is pure comedy gold!!
I love how completely oblivious to everything around her Augie is when she's singing. The old lady you were singing for died? Your friend Yogi has gone crazy and eaten everyone else in town? Your dad gets into a heated argument with Yogi and threatens to shove you down his throat? None of these are important enough to stop singing and react to...
@Gobzo Raon I'd disagree with that being someone who grew up with it. It's not that bad nor do I think it ruins it since all characters are present. Some gender swaps and characteristics changed for better or for worse, but the personality of the characters are still present. As a long time Hannah Barbera fan, I like it. This is honestly no different from shows such as: flinstone kids, Yo yogi, Captain caveman's scooby doo clone, and a few others. It's very much a spin off just like all of the other cartoons that came long before it. I see no real difference other than them NOT being kids in this one.
People seem to be complaining about the gender bends for some of the characters. But like. Yeah. Do you want a Sausage Fest? As like there were hardly ANY Hanna Barbara females. Cindy was only there to be Yogi's lover. In Jellystone, she's a doctor who also invents things and likes attention for her deeds but will try to avoid her name taped to something bad that is her fault. Already a huge fix there. But god damn this show is so fucking funny. I unironically laughed so much while watching the show since well. Its C.H. Greenblatt. The dude is a comedy god since he wrote Chowder. And he knows wholesome stuff as he did Harvey Beaks.
Credit where credit's due: Many of these characters had _barelly_ any personality beyond "Hanna-Barbera's character". Childrens of both genders watch the show, so both genders should be represented. Also: It has been, like, twenty years since I watched a Yogi Bear episode. My generation no longer has a saying unless the studio starts literally throwing garbage at our kids.
I like this show, I don’t see why some people have a problem with it. If anything, it gives some of the characters there slight improvements. If they ever do comeback shows, they can take some of this as inspiration. I like to see Jabberjaw as a sassy black lady and the Top Cat crew doing what they did in the show.

Augie it’s a girl now, but she still looks like like a boy from the old cartoon. It would’ve been better if they turn the shirt into address to help believe that’s a girl and put bow on her head.
