What an amazing tutorial! Lore, I want you to know that we appreciate what you are doing and please bring more such project making video tutorials so that we get a hands-on experience, bcoz no other UA-camr is doing such a detailed step-by-step project explanation. Keep up the good work amigo ! God bless you !
Thank you so much for your words🙏 this means a lot and I will certainly do more and more videos like this one 😉
@@loresowhat You are amazing
I think you spelled amigo wrong, but good comment nonetheless. GOD BLESS INDEED
Amazing video Lore. Making it look effortless. This saves us so much time on the learning curve.

YOU ARE LITERALLY THE BEST DUDE! Thank you so much for sharing all this great content 🙏.
Wow thank you so much for your comment, this means a lot 🙂
Thanks a lot for the walkthrough brother. I'm just starting out with tableau projects and it was useful to see how its done
Glad it was helpful Vishnu 🙂
Amazing channel! and very helpful! please make much much more of such videos! well done :D
Appreciate your comment and will certainly do 😉
Really informative and helpful video.
Thanks Lore!!
thanks for the comment! appreciate it 😀
Thanks for the superb walk through. Took time out to follow along and I feel great about the skills I have learned. Had some trouble with the calculated field for the "Selected Start & End" dates. Not sure if my version called for different syntax, but I kept getting errors. I did try a few other ways to solve the problem but I was unsuccessful. In any case, I was able to create the parameters needed and the final result was great. I would love to see how you styled the dashboard. Definitely a new subscriber. Keep up the great work!!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment here 😊 I will definitely consider doing a video on how to format the dashboard, since a few other people asked the same 👍
waiting for this also!
Thanks lore for this amazing video, keep it up.
Thanks a lot for your comment 😊
Used a relative route with a following of this project to get my data associate position. Thank you for this man
Omg well done 💪💪💪 could you please text me on Instagram at loresowhat?
How about getting a data scientist position? Why only associate? Zzz

Excellent really.
Really appreciate your words, thanks a lot 😊
Great walkthrough, very easy to follow
Thanks for your comment 😊
Love your content! Thank you for making this easy to follow dashboard. Please can you show more examples using date filters. What does one do if there is a string of dates e.g June - August is open season? How can you filter or choose something based on the season?
thanks for your comment and can give more details if you dm me on instagram in case at loresowhat
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do more of these m begging please. M trying everything what a data analyst is suppose to know or do and you are my diamond. You are more than fresher but I do not know where you stand as an experienced one so for me you are the perfect match please just keep it up.
Absolutely!!! Thanks for the comment 🙂

Hi Lore, this video is really helpful and I was able to create my very first Tableau dashboard project thanks to you. That being said, could you do a Tableau video on storytelling as well? Data Analyst recruiters in where I'm from also like to emphasize this skill and I feel it would be great if you did a video on this too
Thank you so much for your content and absolutely, I can do something around storytelling. Can you expand a bit more what would you like me to cover about that?
@@loresowhat I'd be happy with anything that covers the use of storytelling in Tableau, like maybe continuing on the dashboard you made in this video to include Tableau storytelling. But if you think that there may be other topics more suitable to showcase Tableau storytelling, I'm okay with that too (like using sales or marketing data for example)
Thanks for sharing this Tableau tutorial - I just completed the whole thing. It would have been nice if you were to show the whole process from start to finish, including making the dashboard more presentable. Another thing would be, some of the cuts and edits you made in the video skip a few of the minor details. All and all, I learned a good amount from such a short video thanks.
thank you so much for the feedback and will keep that in mind for the next videos👍 also, make sure to check out pt2 of this video here ua-cam.com/video/CnzbSERa7NM/v-deo.html
super neat work man !
Thanks for your comment 👍
that's a great tutorial short and on point thank you brother for that and please do more God bless

This was amazing @Lore! Thank you so much. Could you please PLEASE also consider doing a project on fraud. Pretty please.
hey thanks for your comment, what do you mean by project on fraud, can you tell me more?
amazing you really helped me a lot with this tuturial thank you lorenzo
Glad it helped and thanks for your comment 😊
Please help, I changed the alignment of text (for fully vaccinated people) to center but the value isn't going to the center of the blue bar like yours. How do I make the values display at the center of blue bar??
just amazing ! Want tableau tutorial from basic to intermediate level !
Thanks for the tip, I’ve added that to my video list 😉

Awesome video. Helped a lot. I will say it was fast paced, be nice to explain a bit of the steps, and even how you formatted the last dashboard. 18 Min video I had to slow down to .50 speed
Glad it helps and thanks for the feedback, will keep in mind for next videos 👍also make sure to check part 2 on my channel where I cover the formatting and other bits
I think this is the video whichll help u to boost and headstart in yt

My first ever Tableau project. Thanks a lot Lore 👏❤
Well done 💪
Thanks for the explanation!
Glad it was helpful!
Hat's of you bro , great explanation
Thank you so much 🙂
very easy explanation, helped me a lot, as i was struggling how to approach in doing a project from sratch.
Please help, I changed the alignment of text (for fully vaccinated people) to center but the value isn't going to the center of the blue bar like yours. How do I make the values display at the center of blue bar??
thank you, i'm changing career now, learning sql and Power BI, trying tableu will be a good idea.
I still can't get a job, but i hope i can get job as a data analyst soon.
Best of luck with that 💪
I’m in the same boat, I’m changing my career. I’m just starting out on my Google certificate. Need to learn SQL and Tableau in-depth. You can do it, and you should. I’m working towards the same goal. Wish you the best success in life.
Thank you so much. It is vert helpful.
Glad to hear that 😉
You are heaven sent, thank you so much !!
Ahaha thanks 🤩
Great explanation and video
Glad you liked it!
I like how you manage the filter
Thanks 😊
Great video but I wish you showed how you edited the final dashboard for aesthetic just to show the entire creating process. Think it would be helpful so that we can see and then add our own style to our dashboard. Overall though amazing and thanks for the project!
Hey 👋 a few other people ask me that, and that is why I actually made a part two video that you can find on my channel. let me know if that helps😉
Great content...new subscriber for sure
Thank you and welcome aboard 😉
Thanks for the superb walk-through. While preparing the 4th sheet, the value labels are missing for some countries. Bar is showing but the label is not displaying.
Glad it was helpful! can you text me on instagram at loresowhat and send a screenshot so that I can better help?
great content
clearly explained
Glad you liked it 🙂
Great tutorial, short and to the point! One question: A couple of countries (Like Gibraltar and Tokelau) have a vaccination rate above 100%. You reckon it would be best to simply not include those countries, or do you have any data-cleaning recommendation for this?
well spotted Kris, that is definitely a data quality issue so because we are not owning the dataset that is powering this dashboard, I would just remove those countries. In an ideal world you would reach out to the data owner and ask to fix those issues...
@@loresowhat Cheers!
Thank you very much for the walkthrough tutorial, Lore! What should we do about the null values? When I excluded them at dashboard page, the statistics changed dramatically.
you can keep them and add in the project description your rationale and assumptions so it's clear that you made considerations for those isntead of ignoring them
Great Tutorial!!! But also make a video of how you fine tuned your dashboard in the end. That would be very helpful for people like me who are learning grom scratch.
hey mate I just uploaded pt2 covering exactly that 😀 have a look here ua-cam.com/video/CnzbSERa7NM/v-deo.html
Great job!!!
Thanks for watching😊
it's very useful video, thx!
You're welcome!
SO HELPFUL
Thanks a lot 🙏
Really good video. Very easy to follow. Only one thing.. at the end you didn't show how you made each section bigger so it's more readable and presentable. That would've been really helpful!
Thanks a lot for the feedback 😉 make sure to check part 2 of this video (link in description) where I go into more detail on the formatting side of the dashboard 👍
Thanks. Your tutorial es great and easy to follow. Btw, by chance do you have this dataset updated? O maybe you could share the source to update it.
really appreciate your comment 🙂 I put the data source link in the video description since a lot of you asked for it 👍
thanks alot.. keep going ❤❤❤

Nice one but can you please make a video on creating the perfect data analyst resume?

Hey, Lore, absolutely loved the video, but I got a quick question. By any chance did you use tableau creater licence to create this project?
thanks for your words and yes I'm using Tableau Desktop with licence
Love the video, quick question
I'm having trouble changing the format into a percentage at the 5:38 mark. I was wondering if I need to hit a hotkey or if I am doing something incorrectly. Would appreciate any help.
Thank you!
I also had trouble with this, I changed Numbers listed under the 'Default' heading rather than under 'Totals' (Should be just above 'Totals' in the Side Pane)
thanks for helping out here 😉
I am from Indonesia. Thanks for your video.
love your country!! I've been to Bali twice this year
'Succinct' is probably the apt expression for the video..Please keep bringing more such videos.. Thanks :)
Thank you so much for your kind words! It means a lot 🙂
@@loresowhat You are welcome. I just had 1 question. Does the file type make any difference after connecting the data? I mean I am using the same file as yours but as excel, then the max values come as 'Null', but if I save the same excel file as .csv then things work fine. Any reason behind this happening?
Thank you so much.
thanks for the support 🙂

idk but as a UI/UX designer who randomly watching this video... this part is so satisfying lol 😆...
ahah I didn't know I could even impress a UI/UX designer with that 😂
Well done part with dataviz, but why use trend line and not cluster? Cluster seems better here, cause we don't need trends, we need to understand is there any correlation (and without regression models the only viz in tableu is cluster i guess to see this).
And do u planning on some comparison videos in dataviz? Like tableu vs. others or even tableu vs. python ;) This would be great to see )
Yep agree that clustering could be a good option here 👍 and I will definitely have a think about a video with a viz tools comparison, thanks for the tip 😊
Hi Lore! Do you know where I can get an updated version of this data set? I completed my dashboard but I want the data to be until 2023. Thank you
Mmm unfortunately I found the dataset online so I’m not able to update it
Thanks bro
Cheers👍
Hey Lore, great video. I'm just wondering where do you get your datasets from? and do you clean them? thank you
hey I mainly get them from Kaggle (by the way you might want to check out my instagram or tiktok @loresowhat cause I talk about datasets sources there too). I usually take the raw format from there and do a bit of cleaning if needed yes 👍
@@loresowhat awesome, I would follow you on those socials but unfortunately I don't partake in them. If you were to do a video on cleaning the data etc that would be fantastic! Keep up the good work friend
Hey Lore , I am stuck on 10:48 when you put gdp field in column bar in Filter section there is Location field appears but when
I am doing same like this there is nothing appear in Filter's section
do you have other filters applied in the worksheet? text me on instagram so I can better help
Thank you
You’re welcome👍
Could anyone help with around 14:01 mark he talks about creating the filter for the worksheet I copy te calculation just like he did but when bringing the table over I don't have a (true ) option just a False and I have deleted and done this again and its still not showing me a (true option)
did you manage to sort this?
With the rise of thoughspot and similar self-reporting tools, is there still any point in learning Tableau or older dashboarding tools? Also work life balance for data analysts isn't that great since they constantly have 3 month deadlines for projects and are allocated to multiple projects (similar to a consulting environment)
These are great questions!! For the first one, it depends where you work as big companies will always use tools like Tableau that are great at scale and reliable. Self-reporting tools still need to prove themselves in such workplaces. And regarding work-life balance, this is more about the company culture rather than the data analyst role. Many people choose to be a data analyst for the great flexibility it can give you but this only applies if the company will allow that flexibility 😉
Hey Lore, what kind of Tableau did you use? I think to have the Tableau license is pricey. Please, let me know how you managed to get it.
I’m using a student email to get the licence for free 🤪alternatively you can use Tableau Public which is free but with limited functionalities
Thanks for sharing, great tutorial! Just out of curiosity, where is the data originally from?
hey Sebastian, it's from this website (highly recommended for other datasets too ) ourworldindata.org/covid-vaccinations
@@loresowhat thanks!
One of the best data visualization on youtube. Actually I just want to know the source of dataset. I mean if I want search for other datasets as well, it may help. So please tell me what's the source.
thanks for your words and please find in the video description the link to the folder where I stored dashboard file and data source👍
lovely project. Where did you find this dataset online?
hey, it's from this website (highly recommended for other datasets too ) ourworldindata.org/covid-vaccinations
Hi Lora, can you make a video how you got the job in uk through agency or LinkedIn or any other site ,I'm also based in uk and would like to know in detail
thanks for reaching out! I've added that to my video list so you will definitely see that in the coming weeks 👍
do you think it will be overkill to have the same Dataset Done in R,sql and tableau on Porfolio ? just to show versatility in all 3 ? thanks in advance
I think it's not a bad idea but I'd personally go for different projects to show different skills. This will make your portfolio much more interesting in my opinion.
I am facing difficulty in converting number to percentage at 5:35. How to apply the filter there is no option in Tableu after selecting Percentage
hey thanks for the comment, can you please text me on instagram @loresowhat so that I can better understand your issue?
when I change it to bar char the seem to overlap the layers and it doesnt show it like your what am I doing wrong?
can you text me on instagram, very hard to help here
Hi Lore, The video is so learnable. But I have a small question about why you use Max in all metrics. Thanks.
hey sure, this is because the dataset is cumulative (row 2 includes data of row 1 and so on). let me know if this makes sense
@@loresowhat Thank you, Lore!
at 2:44 how did you format the text to be yellow and include "people only partly vaccinated against covid-19"? did you use a keyboard shortcut?
hey no I just copy pasted a text and format that I had opened on another page just to make the tutorial faster fro you guys to follow
I missed the formatting part, it is very important for every dashboard especially for beginners.
hey emilia thanks for the comment, have you checked part 2 of this video? I made it precisely to cover the formatting part of it 🙂
Can you help me; the bars doesn’t display after dragging both the KPI to Column Field.
Yeah sure you can text me on instagram at loresowhat

glad you like it 🙂
@@loresowhat yes I do. Made one on covid-19 this year while transitioning into tech sometime around May. I actually enjoy using Tableau. Maybe you can check it out and let me know what you think if that's okay by you
@@AdamaDanjuma yes absolutely! please reach out on instagram if you can (loresowhat)

can you share more projects like this including from SQ,Excel etc i need to build my portfolio at least 5 projects
Hey sure check my other videos, I have a sql project and a few more tableau projects 👍
This is nice. I think even a newbie can do this. But can i practice this using tableau public? Thanks
absolutely, you should be able to do most of it in Tableau Public
How did you format? I'm new to tableau and am experiencing trouble creating a nice, clean dashboard. Could someone kindly assist me?
hey I made a part 2 video where I explain exactly how to format this dashboard (link in description). let me know if you need more help
At 6:45, when I select Dual Axis, I can only see Share of Fully Vaccinated. Not the orange partial vaccinated.
Does anyone have advice on this please?
Is it because one is overriding the other? What if you change order?
Nice visuals there.
As a fresher or an expert which tool to use Tableau or Power BI?
thanks a lot! I would definitely suggest Tableau, easy to learn but at the same time will give you the chance to do very advanced visuals (which companies love)...
@cristopherdelacruz7863 thanks for this comment, can you expand on the reasons you say PowerBI is better? Just curious on that 😊
I wanted to know as to why we used a logarithmic trend line and not the others? Also when do we use the other options and when are the other times we use logarithmic? Any response would be much appreciated.
I chose that as it seems more appropriate given the correlation chart but as long as you have a story behind you can use other trend lines too👍
From 16:18 I didn't get how you design the dashboard because you didn't show and I'm really interested in knowing it please 🙏
Hey I’ve simply put containers and changed colors here and there - but happy to go through it on a call? You can schedule it using the link in description 👍 hope that helps
Hey, just wanted to let you know that I’ve just posted a video covering the aspects that you asked me about, hope this helps and keen to know what you think😊
ua-cam.com/video/CnzbSERa7NM/v-deo.html
I have question ! How i want to show this project on my sv? Should i just add more document about the dashboard, or add it on linkend?
very good question, I would create a simple webpage with all the links to all your projects 👍
