Simply add an Octane Tag to the Pyro object. :)
Yes, meanwhile.
Wonderful, thank you Nikolaus! I wish we could render in Octane directly from Pyro, without exporting to VDB.
I think there will come such a pyro material like in Redshift, hopefully :)
@@nikomedia Hopefully!
@@nikomedia they work on it, otoy sayd it on twitter
@@simontrickfilmer Thanks for the great info 👍
@@nikomedia to be correct: it's on the feed of "Octane Render Italia"
Thank you Niko!
You are welcome!
YES ! thank you :) - if it is possible to make a tut : How-to composite a VDB animation render with the rest of an animation of which it would be part inside AE ?
Sorry, but I don't work with AE. I do my comps mostly in Davinci Resolve.
@@nikomedia Oh ok,.
thx!
hello, thank you, I use Arnold, and it's the same system, I couldn't get the pyro to work, but now thanks to this video it works
Glad to read this :)
👍👍
i did the same in v-ray
it looks so low Res and pixelated
I never used vray, so sadly I can say nothing to help, sorry.
And do you get motion blur to work?
I did not try it. I will try it on Weekend and will tell you then.
@@nikomedia All I figured out by now:
The octane vdb loader wants three separate velocity channels fed in. Each for x,y and z but Cinema 4D does not let me pick the individual channels.
But when using the pyro object directly, I can use the octane object tag. It only asks for the "motion blur" box to be checked. Problem is, motion blur still won´t show up in the render.
Maybe you can figure it out
How to Install Octane in 2023 Cinema ?
You install it like in every other version. Download the newest version of Octane and put it in your plugins folder.
A very good tutorial would be about how to use vertex map tag and field on matrix objects with octane. Unlike redshift, we cannot add a custom geometry on the octane tag when it's on a matrix object. This is cutting a lot of possibilities.
see : Friendsofmotion and PixelAffair to understand what I mean. Peace! :) Great job, like always!
yeah id just watch silverwing lol
Thank you.
You are welcome!
Dude, your videos deserve a better mic 😉
Honestly, since nobody complained until now, I thought the webcam mic does a goof job. This week I will update CPU, Mainboard and so on and then I will connect my USB mic ;)
Thanks for telling me ;)
@@nikomedia - Awesome. It wasn't really a complaint, I just think with content as good as yours, good audio quality will make it shine 🙂
@@DIGITALMEAT Thanks for your kind words 👍
I have a dual graphics card setup and I get lots of crashes with Pyro. VRAM errors galore.
Sad to read this. Did you report your problem to maxon support?
Also I wish there was some kind of zip compression on VDB files. This tool is very promising but very buggy. I’ve been submitting all my crashes.
@@elissitdesign Lets hope the best 👍
What is that green play button? Seems really useful.
This is a little script I wrote. If you click on it, it will play the timeline, if you click it again it stops and goes back to frame 0.
