Maybe you could check out the ring clock ring that has a lot of little LEDs inside the ring and glow through holes and numbers to show time if you like such ring sized gadgets
Subscription means I can expect new functionality. Oura also shipped me a new ring for no charge, after the previous got worn out, because they have an incentive to keep me paying the monthly fee.
I appreciate the new, shorter format but I love your longer, traditional videos because I can settle in with a cup of coffee and relax while being educated about new products you've tried out. I love having that bit of me-time.
Like this format, Jonathan. Thanks for the content! I just got this ring last weekend. I have mixed feelings so far, but it does say that it takes 15 days of data to establish a baseline. A few features worth noting: It gives you the option to enter how rested you feel at any point in the day. I’m not sure how or if it will integrate this data to tailor my results over time. It gives you optimal windows of time for bright light exposure and stimulant consumption, which I find helpful. One anomaly I’ve found with it is its inability to distinguish between when I’m doing a quiet activity in the evening and when I’m in a light sleep phase. So my sleep time is inaccurate by hours. I have been disregarding the number of hours in Light Sleep because I know I wasn’t yet asleep. But last night, it marked me as in Deep Sleep when I was watching UA-cam videos. At least for me, the ring errs toward thinking I’m sleeping when I’m not. This could be that it isn’t accurate for people who have resting metabolic metrics that fall below a certain range. One possible fix would be to ask in the morning if the data appears accurate. Give me the option to remove the first 2 hours when I know I was reading or watching videos and not sleeping. EDIT: I found a way to edit sleep time. It’s new, or I only just discovered it. I’m still learning to navigate the app. There’s a lot of information that isn’t always intuitive to interpret or interact with. I’m hoping this helps to make the other metrics more accurate.
Really like the new format, in depth evaluation based on your experience is really valuable and one of the reasons I became interested in the channel during the SAK comparison days. In depth beats variety for me every time. Keep it up!
Cheers John, yes I like the single indepth format as well as the comparison format. Perhaps a bit more on how things work occasionally when the product requires it would be useful. Happy new year by the way. Your 2023 product reviews really helped with some Christmas presents, so thanks for that too.👋
I got a Ringconn around Christmas as it sounds fairly similar, no subscription and I really like it so far! I am using it mostly as a sleep tracker and to see what does/does not improve my sleep, since sleep has always been difficult for me. The oxygen saturation tracker and heart rate monitor are also helping me confirm if CPAP therapy is necessary, and how well it’s actually working.
Hey Jon, thank you for another good overview of what it can do. I really appreciate your focus on task - 'what task does this do for me?' - rather than just being about more gear for gears sake. Thank you!
Welcome back. :) Great to have you back after the long holiday season. Great intro video but actually I will be waiting for the release of the Amazfit Helio Ring in March.
I think the rings are great if you want to decrease the amount of distractions. For example - using a smart watch you get text notifications. Of course you could turn that off but if you to get rid of that altogether you can with a ring.
This product looks very interesting. I've been wearing a Garmin Vivismart 4 for the past 3 years because I've found it to be an excellent detector for getting Covid. I'm not sure why, but the Garmin reacts in a very specific pattern when I've become infected. Stress monitor goes through the roof (with zero rest moments), body battery plummets to 5 and stays there, heartrate increases to 100-110 even while lying down. It's much more reliable than a PCR test. I wonder if the data from this ring could be just as useful 🤔
I experienced a similar alert from my Apple Watch - crazy high resting heart rate. This was after three negative Covid tests over the course of 4 days, and right before a very faint positive test. Had no other major symptoms until later that night. I tested again the next day with a strong positive result.
I like this new format and it could potentially bring you more views and subscribers due to the fact that this may result in someone researching this product. 👍 As for the ring I don't think it's for me, due to feeling like it would create more anxiety overthinking about my sleeping patterns 😂
Great review, thanks Jon. I think this sort of product is instantly ruled out for people like myself who work in grease, grime, mud etc. and seem to sustain minor hand injuries weekly!
Thanks for this video Jon. I have seen people wearing these rings and had assumed incorrectly that they were either for arthritis or a sex aid of some kind.
Very interesting, but it is as much as an Apple Watch which gives you a million more things. I know the watch is larger, but so much more worth it at that price point. I'm sure this ring is perfect for some people.
Gen2 (sub free) Oura was pretty good but then when they brought in the sub with Gen 3 they kind of hit the rocks. Lots of 'coming soon' functionality promises that hammered battery life or simply didn't materialise. Whoop also has a subscription model these days, so I fear that this new entrant might be trying to build a user base before cashing in. Hope I am wrong.
I suppose if I had, or was worried about, heart-related 'issues', I'd consider it. Otherwise, this is information 99/100 people simply don't really need, even if they think they do. If you're that worried about your health that you think you need this data, that's likely half of your problem right there. Not for me.
They get to track your whereabouts, get free data on your consumer behavior patterns and psychology, AND they get to rip you off with an exorbitant price tag of 349 dollars.
@@JonGadget Yeah, that’s the perpetual conundrum of human existence. How to harness technology without selfish, deviant people doing nasty things behind your back. =(
Can not see the benefit of this as my smart watch does all of this and more including blood pressure and heart ECG readings including blood sugar levels
Wearing rings is a safety hazard. I am looking for something cheap to make a phone call when I am paralyzed. But could I not be paralysed notwithstanding a trembling finger ?
They don't need a subscription because they are not developing. They just copy Oura. That means they won't have the new functionality that Oura will release. Still waiting for the software review, that's where the value is created. Every time you look at your finger you would just remember wearing the cheap rip off that isn't even better value for the money over time.
I think these rings are all a joke....just goes to show that some people will by anything. Probably will be taken off and wind up in a junk Drawer in a few months..
I had an Oura, and when it went tits up, I decided the subscription wasn't worth it to replace... even though I really liked it. I might get this next. And there is an Android app available (people here are saying it's Apple only; it isn't).
That company seems pretty scummy to demand a subscription for their older version of the ring Soon companies will demand a subscription even for toilet paper 😂
Just for information the Ring Air works with both Apple and Android 👍
Maybe you could check out the ring clock ring that has a lot of little LEDs inside the ring and glow through holes and numbers to show time
if you like such ring sized gadgets
The fact there is no subscription is my favorite feature.
Same 🙌🏻
Although having subscription for their older ring leaves a bad taste in the mouth and makes them look kinda scummy
no good updates no good new features, app is ass. not have one medical dossier
Subscription means I can expect new functionality. Oura also shipped me a new ring for no charge, after the previous got worn out, because they have an incentive to keep me paying the monthly fee.
I like this format a lot! Please continue with these 5-10 minute videos about a single product. Thanks! Great video as always!!
Thanks for the feedback, looking like it might be a mix looking at the comments 👍
@@JonGadget I like a mix personally. Great work, Jon!

Great feedback - thanks for sharing - I’m confident makers will see this
Thanks for these details as I just placed an order specifically for the sleeping capabilities.
Like the new format Jon and that you keep mixing up your content format to keep folks coming back. Great effort. 👍🏻
Thanks Marcus 😊👍

I started with the Ultrahuman Ring Air last August and months later, yeah, it is still on my index finger. Nice video, Jon, I'm a new subscriber 😁
Thank you

Thanks Carl - appreciated
Happy New Year Jon !! For small item, it is good. But I like your general review who are very detailed and complete in a great way.
Like the shorter format, but I like your longer format, too.
Thanks for feedback 👍 good to know
Yes, that is my bag, baby.
Ultra human ring awesome technology loved it
Thanks for such a great video. Made my decision easy!
Happy new year Jon 🎉 been looking at rings, as an alternative to my Galaxy watch, thanks for buddy, here's to a wonderful 2024
I think the rings are great if you want to decrease the amount of distractions. For example - using a smart watch you get text notifications. Of course you could turn that off but if you to get rid of that altogether you can with a ring.
Lovely review!
This ring is really incredible, had mine for 5 months already and the battery is so good. Best thing is there is no subscription fee.

what new format
Same same subscription is a deal killer. Now this one interests me.
Great review Jon.
Great review, thanks Jon. I think this sort of product is instantly ruled out for people like myself who work in grease, grime, mud etc. and seem to sustain minor hand injuries weekly!
👍 yes not for everyone
I enjoy all your reviews …
Keep this shorter format, I enjoyed it.
Will probably mix it up based on feedback but appreciate the feedback 👍
Constantly tracking my health seems like a novelty that would wear off before the $350 made it worthwhile...
That might be me!
Thanks for this video Jon. I have seen people wearing these rings and had assumed incorrectly that they were either for arthritis or a sex aid of some kind.
Your welcome! 😁
Good review and info 👍👍
Pretty cool!
Hi Jon, great informative videos please keep up the good work. Can the ring be worn on the wedding ring finger? Many thanks.
Have looked through your previous videos, and didnt see the ring which you have been wearing day and night for the last three months?
How often does it sample your heart beat & S02 ?? Some smart rings sample only every 15 minutes which is useless to me.
Happy New Year, sir
Happy new year to you too
I like the single product concept, but I still wish it was a few minutes longer. I like long content heh.
Good to know - thank you
Brilliant review. Can you please share if your model is the silver version? Cheers.
not crazy about having a ring made from titanium, apparently it is really tricky to deal with if it gets stuck
No subscription is good, shame only on Apple though 😞
Available on Android too
Interesting product, i personally prefer the other format (more fun to watch) but i think both could complement each other
Good to know! Thanks 👍
Very interesting, but it is as much as an Apple Watch which gives you a million more things. I know the watch is larger, but so much more worth it at that price point. I'm sure this ring is perfect for some people.
I have the Oura and the Apple wstch. The great advantage is the battery life. My watch lasts 24 hours and the ring for about 5-6 days.
Hi Jon please review multi-knife/fork/spoon devices...need a good one for work!
Thanks for the suggestion 👍

Time will tell, I hope not 🤞
good review
Would it be possible to review a more accurate at home heart ecg monitor such as the Kardia?
I am considering buying this ring. Now that it’s a few months from your review, do you still find the ringing useful?
Hi Jon, were there any extra import/tax duties or fees when receiving in the UK?
Also keen on hearing any comments in the EU.
Hi Jon, keep the vids coming 👍 does it also use NFC so I can purchase with it?
Thank you. No unfortunately!
I definitely prefer the, shorter, one topic format. Not to say the longer videos wouldn't also be appreciated
To minimise scratches I wear mine on my right ring finger
Dear @jongadget please confirm does it measure the daily steps
I wondered what these rings were for.
Are there import charges the the UK? Thanks
Love that there is no subscription fee. That’s why I stopped wearing the Whoop band.
I liked the review, but I think I prefer the multi-item reviews.
Thank you - good to know 👍
Can it sync with the Google fit?
The problem with a technological ring is that for such a staggering price, youd be silly to be wearing this 5 years later as it would be a relic
I suppose if I had, or was worried about, heart-related 'issues', I'd consider it. Otherwise, this is information 99/100 people simply don't really need, even if they think they do. If you're that worried about your health that you think you need this data, that's likely half of your problem right there. Not for me.
Does it identify Afib ??
Does it do blood pressure??
No to Afib. And nothing does BP yet
They get to track your whereabouts, get free data on your consumer behavior patterns and psychology, AND they get to rip you off with an exorbitant price tag of 349 dollars.
Apart from that it’s a winner 😁
@@JonGadget Yeah, that’s the perpetual conundrum of human existence. How to harness technology without selfish, deviant people doing nasty things behind your back. =(
The ring doesn't tell you the time? I think I'll wait. 🙂
Can not see the benefit of this as my smart watch does all of this and more including blood pressure and heart ECG readings including blood sugar levels
it is lower profile and is a lot more comfortable to sleep with
The Emporer has no clothes but he does have an overpriced and overpackaged smart ring 😬🙄😂
Wearing rings is a safety hazard. I am looking for something cheap to make a phone call when I am paralyzed. But could I not be paralysed notwithstanding a trembling finger ?
Best to take it off if you’re having a j Arthur..
I’m right handed!
@@JonGadget lol
Cash is king
Yes and anyone willingly wearing one of these is an idiot.
No subscription? Im in. Edit: nm fu** Apple.
Android too
😅😅😅
Who needs this shit?
Slaves.
Without contactless payment option, its pretty much a waste of space.
Interesting point
+++++
Why for the grace of god shall I want to have such a thing constantly naggin me? I‘m married, ain‘t that enough?
I dont like the new format. Sorry ;(
Great review of a stupid product. What a massive waste of money.

Honestly - it’s a gimmick. Give your £329 to a homeless charity.
🤔🙄🤦🏻♂️

Correct, I’ve pinned a comment to that effect 👍
That company seems pretty scummy to demand a subscription for their older version of the ring
Soon companies will demand a subscription even for toilet paper 😂
