Grand Admiral and x25 crises!" lol
I do feel like it's a little weird there's no interaction between this origin and the actual genetic engineering ascension path. Still this is and epic civic.
on conquered worlds it does say that when capped but it's back to normal once the colony is abandoned. I think it shows 0 because the conquered worlds will not have clone vats so the clone pops settled there will be on the decline, thus 0% hab

Anyone else catch what the A.I said when he opened diplomacy? "Because of the evolutionary conditions of Kamino, clones brains are simply less deveopled. It's science, look it up." I laughed waaaay to hard at this XD
100 pops limit is my only complain. Sure, you can fill this gap with robots or stinky alien but it's not the same. I think there should be possibility to get more clones like for example special Ascension perks, technology, or something like that. It's extremely hard to play for example xenophobic religious empire with clones.
If that's your approach then just go for clone fertility. It's not as busted as clone potential but you get a good population headstart and a handy trait. Besides, from a rp perspective spiritualists probably wouldn't be too happy cementing their reliance on technology to reproduce anyway.
It might work if there was some big cost to getting more super-pops. Like you have to sacrifice 10 normal pops, or it takes 10 years to build them, or they cost loads of alloys/rare resources/research/ascension slots etc.
u can still add the flesh is weak ascension on top of it and make their admirals even stronger also leaders have like a 120+ year lifespan at that point ..... and a millon of base starter perks....

I am having a lot of fun with Death Cult and Clone Soldier Origin. Very easy to ensure there are no unemployed clones, with +48% unity after a few years :D
Not sure if this was done to balance the amount of army damage you get at the start but, my only gripe is the fact you don’t have clone soldiers at the start, instead start with the regular soldier that everyone starts with. Would have made more sense because not only do you gain ship damage and decreased upkeep from admirals, but being able to train cheaper soldiers at the start would have made this origin even better. I mean it’s clones for crying out loud! With that being said, I find this an interesting origin to RP with. Like, perhaps these clones are the remnants of a by gone species designed to carry on and rebuild or even protect the planet from other empires. I for one did something similar where the main species were killed off by a rare virus and the clones were a last ditch effort to keep the species from being entirely extinct and try to find a cure (Clone Accident or Decedent) and learn how to deal with the other empires surrounding them. For me, I picked Mega Corps as a way to attempt to be friendly with the others and try to generate additional funds to further progress in our efforts.
You do? I must have not noticed. My bad. I have been getting issues since the 3.1 update lately. Sometimes the game doesn’t start and even the launcher breaks.
Wait, can't you just go around the 100 pops limit? Just send ascended clones to a planet, give them a planet with an ancient cloning site, and release the planet as vassal lol. Unless the limit is for an entire galaxy, and not just your empire.
excellent video as always... but i feel the downsides need to be mentioned a little more. mainly: your species can't exist (for more then a few months) on a world without a clone vat on it, if you resettle a pop to another world they will decline, rapidly, and die in about 6 months. so you are limited to 4 or 5 planets maximum with your species. other then that you will need to use other species you conquer, or invite in. which means you don't get those great species bonuses on those worlds. also that life span -40 years hits a LOT faster then it feels.. my researching leaders were dead on year 18 and 20, they don't even have time to level up beyond level 3. (i was playing lithoid) the admiral bonus alone might make it worth it for a fun way to steamroll others... but you NEED to get some other species in your empire rather early or you will fall behind fast.
when i originally read up on the origin, i thought you could move your 100 clones around, so i planned to have 10 planets with 10 of my clones running each world, THAT would have been great for me.. but nope.
I thought the downsides were pretty self-evident from the start. Big bonuses, with the limitation that the species basically comes in 5x twenty pop blocks, unless you want to micro your freshly grown pops onto different planets.
Alright, took a bit of your advice, but I built it a bit different; I didn't watch any other video about it yet, but I made this civ: Ethics: fanatic xenophobe, militarist Traits: very strong, intelligent lithoid, i think i went with negative empire sprawl and something else (probably should've just gone with something that wouldn't increase the price of my tech) Civics: fanatic purifier clones, warrior culture (for the unity + naval cap, but looking at all the unity i get from genocide i'm rethinking my choice and considering swapping it to Distinguished Admiralty for +10% fire rate) Traditions (still WIP): Tech. I gave a few tries to this origin. The one that stuck was xenophile, egalitarian, spiritualist; going for psionic. Formed a trade federation with a friendly neighbor who brought his friend in so before 2300 we occupy a fourth of the galaxy. Unity gain by starting with high priesthood + mercantile + oligarchy government has been phenomenal. I did a technological enlightenment by 2220 so my vassal empire has been colonizing for me. Despite being a spiritualist empire, I went pretty hard into robots, found a relic world that I am rebuilding, and it's 2290 and wow cruising along, having a lot of fun. Finishing my third tradition tree and ready to take Mind over Matter. Your videos have really helped, thanks!

The inner OCD (and my wide playstyle in particular) in me dislikes this origin, simply because the inability to get more admin cap; quite the polar opposite from a gestalt machine/hive mind where you can build buildings to increase that. 50 admin cap was basically enough cap for me to colonize 1 other world and build outposts for like 5-15 other stars, with a gestalt empire you can build those buildings and each one adds like 10-33 cap (2 admin jobs iirc) and have like 300+ admin cap by like 10 years (iirc, been playing hoi4 lately and my crumby dual core Ryzen laptop only has a nvme ssd of 128 gb; you can probably game the "machine world" origin and min/max to have crazy admin cap, since with that origin your starting world has all slots unlocked).
ASpec have you thought about going back and redoing some of your old mechanics video, especially for Leviathans. Some of them go back to the old tile system and are a tad out of date. Especially with new mechanics like raising leviathans back from the dead it might be worth revisiting some of them.

I feel like keeping the raided pops as livestock just isnt worth it. a livestock pop will give me like 1-4 food per pop. if I keep the same pop as chattel slave on my fields, it will provide me with 8-12 food PLUS the slaves can take on all the jobs in the Worker strata, while my Clones take Specialist and Ruler jobs. am I missing something?
Livestock doesn't require any districts to work, and get a housing reduction so they can fit in on the planets you have more housing than workers. You basically just keep them around your planet and you don't need any agricultural jobs and can use your planets for other things. It's usually only good to keep one type of species as Livestock though, so you can use your other slaves to do more useful tasks.
So, does that mean it’s not an option at all or are you saying it’s not feasible? If you can still take it I’d take that rout so I could get the nerve staple option and then I don’t have to deal with high crime and low happiness for the food source.

am i am the only one that thinks it should be 10 clone vats with 10 pops each? would help a lot with colonisation other planets to have a small amoutn of elite there to watch over the slaves, livestock etc
Loved the soylent green twist
Can't wait to find a mod to remove the pop cap so I can become god
ASpec have you thought about going back and redoing some of your old mechanics video, especially for Leviathans. Some of them go back to the old tile system and are a tad out of date. Especially with new mechanics like raising leviathans back from the dead it might be worth revisiting some of them.
I have not played since Lithoids came out. Trying to get back in shape now. Are there any changes with ship layouts or starting economy strategies? I want to play some radical xenofob.
Can you conquer a humanoid planet and force them to snu snu with your clones?
Sontar Ha! Sontar Ha! Sontar Ha! Sontar Ha! Sontar Ha! Sontar Ha! Sontar Ha!
The mantra of the greatest clone warriors in existence, depending on who you ask :P
Only in paradox game enslaving species and making them livestock for the rest of their existence to process them into minerals can be meta.
Using the clones as fanatic purifiers. Just getting into my first war. It's not going to end well for the enemy and I'm only 5 years in.
I picked option 1 and proceeded to be a normal empire with bio ascension.
+ for Kamino naming))) my choise too
I feel like keeping the raided pops as livestock just isnt worth it. a livestock pop will give me like 1-4 food per pop.
if I keep the same pop as chattel slave on my fields, it will provide me with 8-12 food PLUS the slaves can take on all the jobs in the Worker strata, while my Clones take Specialist and Ruler jobs.
am I missing something?
Livestock doesn't require any districts to work, and get a housing reduction so they can fit in on the planets you have more housing than workers. You basically just keep them around your planet and you don't need any agricultural jobs and can use your planets for other things. It's usually only good to keep one type of species as Livestock though, so you can use your other slaves to do more useful tasks.
So mentioning picnics path, is there anyway to get around all your systems blowing up after so long?
Your systems are blowing up? Are you making a Covenant with the End of the Cycle? Don't do that unless its year 2451.
@@rolypoly4920 yes and thanks!
Clone army origin is like 300 Spartans of Space!
Clone soldiers start with clone armies? Good. Clone soldiers generals get no trait? Disappointing, my day is ruined, get out of my sight.
So, does that mean it’s not an option at all or are you saying it’s not feasible? If you can still take it I’d take that rout so I could get the nerve staple option and then I don’t have to deal with high crime and low happiness for the food source.
I have question the new plantiods is broke but you can have alloy ships as a devouring swarm and Crisis but. How do I end being declared galatic crisis 120 years in game i don't want to go through rest of game just being me. i own half the galaxy. And I can easily wipe out the rest. I could take on a fallen at this point
Clone ascendant is the only way. If you pick the other one you can no longer have a 9 year old leading your navies to war.
I tried it out, but with the need if a Clone Tank to SUSTAIN the pops you got, you can only sustain 20 x 5 pops. How do you grow over the Limit, please tell me
I love this origins but I must know if I have miss understood what the hell I was doing.
Xenophobic and catalytic processing... Tasty combo.
Sontarian is actually an army race from dr who too!
i dont know much about clone soldiers... but i know that good soldiers follow orders.
They can be a big problematic if you don't know how to play them
Me not knowing shit having conquered half the medium size galaxy by year 2300: yea early game was a bit of a rush for minerals and empire sprawl was a pain to deal with other then that this origin is op
Edit: not sure why but I couldn't build any robot pop for the first 30 years despite having the building and clones working in them
You cant, as you can only assemble only robot or organics, not both
@@inkognitonoori9486 oh thanks for the info!
@@vvbr2372 Yeah, a patch changed this a few updates back because everyone was rushing robots early game, not that isnt viable anymore....
@@inkognitonoori9486 I'll just conquer some primitives and build robots there then
Psionic clones?! oh god just imagine all the warcrimes it can unleash to the xenos.
Question is this in stellaris console edition I have the humanoids dlc installed. and if not what update did this origin come out for pc edition
Can I enslave my own pops with the 40% thinhgy and sell them?
Time to find out
I checked, no
You taught me how to play it because I was worried about how to play this origin but know that I know you can have fertility thats makes it great. Thanks a lot I have subscribed and liked. And last question do you have to choose one gender or is it both gender no matter if you choose male or female
Wait… I haven’t got a dig site on my home planet and I’m 80 years in.. is this something that’s random?
FOR THE REPUBLIC
My clone army got the Baol precursor hurrah
