Instead he would have one or two who were creative (Pirlo, Boban, Simeone) behind him, but most of the time they were more industrious and defensive-minded. Had he played today, with the game being more open and the coaches more adventurous, Baggio would have had a field day with the extra space, more attacking reference points and the absence of the challenge from behind... not to mention the quality of the pitches, lighter ball...
