Yup, best part of the game.
I love this song and each of the characters themes on their own but zulfs hits me really hard since my mom is my only living parent and if she ever passed this song would make me instantly think of her.
I get chills within the two seconds of this tracks. Bastion is, I think, one of the first games, where I felt any real emotion towards what was happening on the screen, and there is no doubt in my mind that Darren Korb's absolutely fantastic OST is the reason I came to appreciate games with good music and good story.
And let's not forget the voice of Logan Cunningham!
If you haven't already, I'd recommend the NieR series for the same reasons you like Bastion! Highly emotional and an amazing soundtrack
@@DM-on3zz oh my god yes! I stumbled upon NieR completely by chance back when it was out for the ps3. Absolutely beautiful soundtrack. I'm currently playing through the remake!
@@GlydeBorealis Awesome!!! I started with Automata and just knew I had to buy Replicant. What an amazing series, I love the full cast of characters. I'm glad you find it good :) There's also Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy 14 if you haven't already listened through those games' soundtracks. Super worth a shot if you got the time!

Bastion was a game that I first pirated, then went out of my way to buy, because it was so good. This song, honestly is something that is just pure nostalgia, carrying Zulf instead of letting him die.

i bought it on my switch then i pirated it on my laptop so i could play it on both platforms at the same time. Ive finished it a total of 4 times and im thinking of playing it again
same, but it's because I'm from a 3rd world country.
Steam didn't have region pricing yet so any game for a poor college kid like me costed a fortune.
Pretty sure I bought full price when shit adjusted.

I didn’t beat Bastion, but I interpreted the lyrics “I’m comin home, sweet home” as referring to the past, before the calamity, like this comment says. They take on special significance for me at a time in my life when I feel I have no joy in adulthood, and most of my really happy memories are from childhood. The lyrics “we’ll be there before to long” refer to the future though, meaning time will pass quickly enough, and we’ll hopefully arrive at a better future.

I will never forget finishing this game, feeling that emptiness that comes after the end of an amazing story, and then this song just BLASTED into the credits. It was spectacular.
Bastion has the same place in my heart as first DS. Its ending just destroys you. It is the bittersweet feeling of FINISHED games. You always want more, but it is time to move on.

I like the ending of this game. How if you don’t choose to continue instead of turning back time you’re just back where you started and everyone made the same mistakes that led to the calamity essentially stating that there’s no way to change the flow of time and all we can do is push forward.
And let we appreciate how this guys engaged a ng+ playtrough with such grace and beauty. The old man telling during our newest gameplay things like ...do i know this kid...this weapon seems familiar and etc...amazing piece of art!
When we play other games usually we don't do a ng+ run...this game nailed this!
The perfect culmination and combination of the earlier tracks creates the most timeless harmony.
So a few years ago I was on my way to the airport, returning home from my exchange. I was messaging goodbyes to my new friends. Right then, this song shuffled from my playlist.
I broke down pretty bad.
Sometimes the God of Shuffle knows exactly which song to play in the right moment to bring out all the feels. It’s magical and heartbreaking.
Ura's Lament. Years of conflict, that continued long after the Calamity. A shame if you ask me.
Because it's the Supergiant Games' YT channel, i can say it.
I bought the game because this music. I listened it so many time, that one day I bought the game on PC.
And it was an amazing experience.
So the next game was Transistor. And I don't regret it.
And my next game on Switch will be Hades.

Pyre isn't for everyone but I would highly recommend it. It has a story just as strong as Hades, and the general combat system is really neat.
Still one of my favorite video games of all time. Everything in this game was incredible. There are only two issues. 1. I cannot re-experience it again, and 2. I wish it had lasted longer.

God damn I love this track. I actually found the OST before the game and when I picked up Bastion I wasn't disappointed. Even cosplayed the kid after!
I remember buying this game on launch day, playing it relentlessly for days. Reaching the end and hearing this song was almost a religious experience. To this day, Bastion was, without a doubt, the best game to come out of Xbox’s Summer of Arcade.
I've played hundreds of games but this one's soundtrack has always hit the hardest. There's nothing like looking at the result of your final choice, and hearing this song as it slowly fades away into the end credits. By far the best song I've ever heard
I used to play this song a lot in Osu! and instantly fell in love with this song. Later, I found out that the song and the character is from a game called Bastion and about a year later I played the game. Just now I finished it, and when this song came on in the ending, I was about to cry because this song meant so much to me even before the game.

I just wanted to let you guys know that Bastion has my all-time favorite videogame soundtrack; I quite possibly play it more than all other game soundtracks combined, and this is the song from it that makes me feel the most. I beat the game over 10 years ago and this always brings me back to the moment I beat it. I can't express the nostalgic feeling this powerful song gives me.
Coming back after few years when i first was introduced to supergiant's games. I'm only upset i can never reexperience the ending of this story again after a second playthrough.
The first time playing this scene made me cry so hard as i was walking land in desperation of not dying.
This song is perfectly crafted to have two simultanious voices
One of only 3 examples in gaming where a company actually knows how and when to put some real, true lyrics into any part of their OST. While I wasn't a fan of Bastion's gameplay, I absolutely adore the usage of this song within the game, it and the story redeem this game.

Additionally you can check out traditional turkish music with bağlama to find similar songs, though gaye's song is more modern. (im turkish)

8 years ago i played this on my psvita. I played trough it two times in two days because i got a bad ending i think. The emotions i get from this are unmatched. Who would have thought that when i started this game up to kill my Boredom in the holidays.
