This is in my top 10 songs of all time. The way she plays with the synthesizer in the beginning and the drums coming in,.. my goodness such pure auditory ecstasy. Its like Vangelis, Giorgio, prince had a more mixing set up to completely destroy a pop record. unreal and underrated

Holy crap. I never noticed the range of emotions she puts into the first line or two. Even the very first words she sings expressing vulnerability, fear and nervousness....in that first line of the song she goes from this place of zero confidence all the way through to a place with extreme confidence. Wow so happy I was able to hear that. Her tones really mirrored the meaning of the lyrics.
That first line totally kills and brings you completely into the song.
She just messed up and sang bad, dude, chill
For real no one does emotion like Alicia that tone no one comes close ❤

I think what I appreciate the most about Alicia Keys is that she is ALWAYS evolving, authentically. To the point where wherever she is always feels honest. A true artist.
She started her own song in the wrong key. This is a lesson for all up and coming artists. You don't have to sing in key to get a recording contract.
