I've been using Vevor tools for a few years now, they make pretty good shop tools and if something isn't right they tend to go out of there way to make it right or they just refund your money if you're not happy with it 😉
Lincoln NR-211 Flux Core works perfectly without shielding gas! I've been using it for more than 20+ years outside in windy and sometimes rainy conditions without any issues.
Also, don't knock all Chinese welders because some of them will easily hold their own with Lincoln, Miller, ESAB, etc. at a fraction of the price!

Chris, I really enjoy your videos. I come from a line of great welders, however dad never once attempted to teach me anything about it. His brothers and nephews went on to be fantastic welders. My cousin fabricates racecars down in Houston Tx. He is 76 and still enjoys doing it. Made a few champions. His name is James Chapman. I'm 64 and have always wanted to master stick welding so got me a small welder and went at it. Learning but not there, making some good welds. Started to throw the 7018 stick away but kept on and it is a great rod. Hopefully get me a real welder someday. It is obvious you know your stuff. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Looks like a ok cheap unit for a guy maybe just learning in his garage.
Personally one of the best recent purchases that seriously surprised me was I spent $700 with the 2 year warranty for the hazard frought titanium 140 multi process.
Flux core weld 14ga handrails for a fire escape in place for a week straight 4 stories up. Flux core mig with no gas off of a 120 v plug with an 100ft 12ga extension cord. And didn't have to drag out the leads on the welding machine.
Also used it for a number of small residential backyard wekding repairs, commercial equipment installation and other things.
It's not a replacement for my miller 350p or my suitcase and deffinatly not a replacement for the 400 pipe pro or the bobcat 250. But is another tool in the toolbox when needed.
Awsome honest video as always 🤙🍻

got one of these and love it for flux core and regular mig. i did yoe the stick welder stinger and it did alright , used 6013 . tig welding works ok but i stick to mig and flux core for rough stuff. i will tell you the mig gun is 1000000x better than the other cheaper welders ive had before. also the duty cylce is pretty impressive for what it is. i paid £200 for mine and ive used worse welders for more than double this one. id give it an 8/10 just bc the price is right.
also can do aluminium without spool gun also try without the gas its just fine and will hold up

For what it's worth, been gas welding since 77 (Home stuff), and professionally stick since 83, mig since 99, tig and spray arc since 04 with a little welding collage. I am impressed with VEVOR products. The adapter is because the welder works with either 110 or 220. There is a switching transistor on the control circuit board that detects 110 on the ground leg, if present, machine switches to 220. Yes it works on both. except - when welding with 110 (and you do need a 50 amp 110 leg so you don't blow the breaker) max thickness is about 1/4", depending on machine. flux core works great but not as clean as solid wire with gas. best penetration is achieved with flux core & C02 gas (Dual flux welding). Try this machine on 220, I think you might be surprised. The only disadvantage with lift tig (Scratch start) is it's difficult to maintain post gas on weld when welding stainless do to you must pull the torch away to stop the arc. Hope this doesn't upset anyone. IMHO

I have a question then. So I wanted to get into welding and I wanted to find the best way for me to do it. I’ve mig welded and stick welded so I have experience with both but I’m not trying to buy a crazy set up. Can you stick weld more effectively with out gas then you could with mig or tig? Because I’m was thinking about getting this machine. Like mainly the welding I would be doing is just fixing stuff on my off roading truck so it’s never going to be anything crazy just welding stuff like bumpers on or making brackets if needed. Like basically just trying to find a the most cost friendly way of getting started until I decide if it’s something I want to spend more on.

I have to disagree on the flux core wire. I think the welds are the same (just less pretty) between flux core and gas. The trick is to remember to swap the polarity. Get that wrong and the flux core welds have little penetration and are brittle.

All these Chinese machines that we all make fun of are allowing some folks to try, and take up welding. If all the machines were 2-3 thousand dollars, many people wouldn’t be able to try it and possibly start them into a career. Undoubtedly they would upgrade, but it would be a starter/learning tool.

  • @shrconstruction

The problem is they steal the technology from the better machines they are building there then cheapen them up some more and use the stolen secrets to run out these budget machines to people that cant afford real equipment and/or know the difference. So you get a machine that is decent at everything but great at nothing and one that wont hold up to real use long-term. Its a price point for happy homeowner that will use these things so little they have no idea how to even use one correctly and probably not hit the hour window that everything starts failing in them and then good luck with customer service after the sale because they are so cheap its easier and cheaper to buy another one than fix it anyways. They are silly sending this to a field hardcore welder dude anyways....he'd probably get more out of it using it for lunchtime pistol target practice.

I mean you're talking about $6k machines of course someone needs to clone it and cheapen them up. We aren't welding pipelines at home. All we need is to maybe stick together a piece of farm metal that's good in the books if it holds 5 years without paying some shop $250 an hour for a basic weld. Plus, I not buying that these fall apart in an hour I just think that's pride talking. But, duh, of course you're going to get a miller if you make 1k+ a week welding every single day, no one thinks otherwise.

I bought a hot plate for cooking from Vevor and the extension blew out my fuse box for my entire apartment in the first setting under 5 seconds. I never got to use the product. They gave me a big runaround for a couple of weeks with 6 different people including trying to call the head office which is technically under another company name in California. These items dont come from 1 warehouse it come from other businesses, the end result was thet didnt offer me a full refund nor did they take the product back. The packaging smelled like harsh chemicals. I will never trust anything Vevor sells ever again. The chemicals that come out of those bags I believe are carcinogenic and can cause cancer.

Lol! One of the worst welding reviews I've watched. I call them welder snobs , if you don't use gas don't even try ? If you're buying this welder for stick welding don't even bother? I've got this welder on my service truck & use the stick , welds great ! (Gas is very expensive and sensitive to wind)
