This 1960 Cadillac Eldorado with that Champaigne paint looks like the epithet of elegance! With clean and soft lines, from the large chrome grille on the front with those protruding eyebrows and double headlights, to the large boat-style tail with the beautiful fins, which even house lights, and its direction indicators positioned vertically in separate chrome pieces. How beautiful its interior looked in red, with all its chrome panel pieces and parts catching the sunlight. Excellent, as always, the collection of manuals and brochures preserved from the period with their beautiful art and photographs (special mention for the trunk closing electronically). The final beautiful and relaxing tour, with those landscapes as a backdrop; In addition, the vehicle felt very smooth, since practically nothing could be heard, giving the impression of walking on a cloud on wheels! Congratulations to Mr McConnaughay, for taking care of this magnificent car for almost 50 years! Best regards, Lou!
Hi Jaime, High praise for the looks of this car :-) Enjoy reading what you see. You're right, the tour was relaxing because you couldn't feel or hear anything. My pleasure sharing with you, Lou

If only we had cars like this these days! Shoo! Can you imagine what fun we are all missing? All we have these days, are boring ole SUV's, vans & trucks, so dull, so utilitarian. Why, oh why??????
Wow! That is a MAGNIFICENT car! Cadillacs were once very special car with design and elegance. That is just a wonderful flowing design with toned down fins and wonderful proportions. The color combination is stunning. Just when you think Lou can't find a better car, it finds a BETTER car! Awesome work, Lou!
Lou I can't get enough of these 50's / 60's Caddy's. Champaigne over red is stunning. This era is the pinnacle for GM styling and this Eldorado with all of these options and features proves why. I'm going to have to watch this video a couple of times just to take it all in. Keep bringing us these awesome videos Lou!!
I agree with the Cadillac designer who said they got it right with the '60. The '59 is really something, but the '60 is in my mind one of the most beautifully designed cars in history. Right there with the '41 Lincoln. Thank you Lou and John!

Hi, Lou! The license plate on this beauty says it all! It's bound to elicit lots of oohs and aahs! Why, even the red-winged blackbirds are giving a shout out! I think it's also a perfect example of why Cadillac was regarded as the "standard of the world". John is so fortunate to have been able to enjoy it for so many years! Many thanks to you and John for popping out the Champagne and taking us along on this classic luxury ride!
Its bulbous! It’s loong! It’s heavy! BUT it’s a Cadillac! AND an Eldorado Biarritz! Beautiful car. Yes, I like the 1960 styling better than 1959 too. Thank you very much Lou.
That stainless “C” moulding is so thin and designed perfectly. A designer “won” the argument to include that trim. The condition is just right for me since driving it is the thrill. Nice review again and thanks once again.❤
What a gorgeous Cadillac! You certainly will be noticed when you arrive in this one. I love the color, the fins, and the chrome. And what a surprise it was for me to see those 3x2 carbs under hood. It's classy from every angle. Thanks, Lou!
Gorgeous...always preferred the cleaner 60 over the overwrought 59...that delicate outline of chrome around the body side is truly elegant. Really rich color combo, buckets too. Nice to see one still on air...i have a '58 Fleetwood originally on air but currently on springs...i have all the takeoff parts tho to retro fit back to air, so encouraging to see this one where it actually works.
What a beautiful car. Love the Champagne paint. Not such a fan of the red interior...maybe that's because my 1990 had Champagne and an interior to match. But this is still beautiful. The 1990 trunk was electronic too. Had to get used to that. Loved it. OMG - the ride was fantastic. This was when Cadillac was still the Standard of the World. They lost it, in my opinion...but these oldies sure proved that point. Smooth, beautiful Cadillac!!!

I like the '60 and its tail fins the best. Such a great iconic car, an American classic and the Champaigne color looks beautiful. Nice video gents thank you.
It’s the Cadillac of automobiles! I love those big fins with the rocket taillights on the 59 but the 60 was a little more subdued. A little more classy in my opinion. I love them both.

When Cadillacs dominated the world of luxury . ' An American Standard For The World ' ; that slogan meant something! It was this type of bold beautiful Cadillac that made the brand legend .
Beautiful Cadillac Lou, I have a 1962 Cadillac Fleetwood 4 door hardtop that was my grandparents that im going to get to restore one day, have to finish my Duster and a 56 Chevy BelAir hardtop first. Never seen that color on a Cadillac before.
So, so nice! My friend had a blue four door, came by and we took a cruise, I even got to drive it. It was so smooth! He dropped me off and headed for home, at the first stoplight someone hit him head-on and it was totaled. The middle of the hood was seven feet tall, bent double.
Fantastic baroque shark-mobile...love the indirect cabin lights on the doors and rear quarter interior too. I favor it over the '59, as I am a 1960 model myself😆
Harley Earl's final design for Cadillac, with Chuck Jordan and Bill MItchell. Absolutely fantastic car! The 1959-60 Cadillacs were called "Spaceships on wheels" back in the day.

In my opinion that's one of the top five best looking cars ever built. Question Lou, is there a car that you haven't ridden in and is it on your list? Thanks again Lou 👍👍
This car is an outstanding subject for your series, The most remarkable aspect of this car is the functional air suspension system which was standard equipment on the 1960 Eldorado models for the last year, It would have been nice to have demonstrated how the air suspension system allowed manual lifting the car nearly five inches
Happy to read you enjoy this car :-) I tried videoing the air suspension lift, however it took too long to lift and I would have put everyone to sleep.

Lou has kind of a Steve Buscemi look to him, IMO. 😉 Not sure if I saw it on this channel, but I recall seeing something about GM moving the cruise control into the spot on the driver's side where the windshield washer controls are in later models (possibly impacting other brands aside from Cadillac). That video pointed out how that essentially created a pretty significant safety hazard since the controls for both functions were designed almost exactly the same.

I always like the '60 better than the '59. The fins were more to scale on the '60. I had a neighbor about 15 years ago had '60 Coupe de Ville he bought new. Some car. big, When he passed his widow sold it.
I have one word, WOW! At least to my eye it’s a strange color combination. I believe the radio is not from 1960. Cadillac didn’t have AM/FM until 1963. Cars like this just aren’t made anymore. Nowadays all we can get are white, black, silver or gray SUV’s. Talk about boring!

The 1960s were supposed to be more outrageous until they saw what Chrysler (very conservative at the time) had sitting in a parking lot at one of their buildings behind a chain link fence for everyone to see. It shocked GM into changing all of their designs for 1960.

"1960 convertible with factory a/c....you just didnt see it that often, and mostly only on the top luxury models...if you had it, it showed you had arrived indeed!" I agree.
Only thing the old Caddilacs lacked was independent rear suspension
Thank you for sharing the improvement you would have liked to see.

Hi Dave, Happy to receive a "WOW!" from you :-) Lou
Would loved to have known the story behind the centre arm rest which bucket seat cars never had, assume it was home made

The 1960s were supposed to be more outrageous until they saw what Chrysler (very conservative at the time) had sitting in a parking lot at one of their buildings behind a chain link fence for everyone to see. It shocked GM into changing all of their designs for 1960.
